My favorite local winery by far! Could drink more if they had a little more to offer in the way food. Can’t beat the ambience though!

Went to a wedding here this weekend. Beautiful location and great wine. Friendly owners of the place; we had a lot of fun drinking wine prior to the wedding too.

Tacky. Owners did not acknowledge us after a 10 minute wait. I’ve lived in San Francisco for 5 years and have visited many vineyards and wineries, and even on the busiest of days, owners are still friendly and acknowledge customers. This vineyard is not worth the drive down the long dirt road. Consider that the quality of their poor customer service reflects the poor quality of their wine and lack of pride and integrity in ingredients. Cruise past this bad winery and find another where there is quality living in both service and drink.

«Water to Wine» kayak trip was an absolute blast! I highly recommend it. The rafting portion is beautiful and just the perfect amount of time! Ended back at the winery for a sampling and spent two hours on the back patio, enjoying the weather, wine, food and company. Staff was helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I did the«water to wine» kayak expedition that starts and finishes at the Alcantara Vineyard. The kayak trip lasted about an hour and a half and was the perfect length of time for how hot it was that day(106). Our guide was attentive to our needs and the duckies were easy to operate. It was a nice workout, the scenery was beautiful, the squirt guns were a great touch. Thank you for a fun trip Cody! The vineyard had changing rooms to get cleaned up afterwards. Staff at winery was fun and friendly. The wine was excellent, and we sampled 7 or 8 different selections. Try the confluence, it’s a merlot /cab blend, it was one of my favs. Thanks for having us, we will be back soon!

Gorgeous vineyard! Excellent wines. Great for gatherings or a romantic date. We had a personal tour through the vineyard which was so beautiful. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.

I absolutely was impressed by the level of customer service I experienced just by calling the vineyard to make plans to come. They were very accommodating to my sisters bachelorette party and made it an experience never to forget. The wine tasting was good, you get a souvenir wine glass with your tasting and the property was gorgeous.

Alcantara Winery in Cottonwood exceeded my wife and my expectations for wine from Arizona. Met Bob & Barbara Predmore, the owners, while pouring for them at Doffo Winery in Temecula. After experiencing their passion for wine we decided to take a trip to Sedona to check them out. Hospitality, customer service and their wines are exceptional. For a fantastic wine tasting experience you must check out Alcantara Winery!

This is a great first stop if you’re doing a wine tour through the Cottonwood area! The venue and views are lovely but the wine and service are just okay.

We went here through Sedona Adventures Water and Wine tour and had a great time. The grounds are beautiful and the staff very friendly. They have many different varietals, many 100% estate grown and are great. Especially given the climate.

5 stars for ambiance, 3 stars for wine quality. This was our first stop on a wine tour, and the scene was beautiful! Everything we were invisioning cottonwood to be. I wasnt too impressed by the wine quality, but overall, it was a good start to our day trip.

What a relaxing wine tasting experience! We sat out at the lawn tables and the friendly staff brought the wine selections out to us. It was so peaceful and quiet sitting out near the vineyards, even with a few other tables of people nearby. The beautiful winery tasting room is at the end of a winding dirt road, so just a head’s up about that. It’s well-maintained but you want to drive with caution. The tasting fee of $ 10 per person included a souvenir wine glass. We’re happy we made the stop at Alcantara.

Alcantara was our last and least memorable stop on our wine tour of the area. We hit it in on the way out of town on a Monday. There’s poor signage, but we found the turnoff, then the dirt road that eventually winds through the vines and to convenient parking right outside the tasting room. We arrived at 11am, opened the door, and the house dog(Charlie Brown) charged at us and growled; being dog people, it was no big deal and we later made friends. I felt a bit as if I was crashing in on someone’s private residence. Despite a beautiful location overlooking the river, the space in general lacks the energy and creativity of every other spot we hit. Wine in Arizona seems to be counter-culture, defying expectations, and this space felt a bit tired and traditional. I don’t blame the server that the place started to fill up on a Monday when she was the only one working the bar/kitchen. However, even before people began to arrive, the education wasn’t as good as what we’d received elsewhere. I was surprised to hear her mispronounce some pretty common wine terms(like, saying Mer-i-tahj). It’s Meritage — it should rhyme with heritage. It made me question if people knew what they were doing here. Most off-putting were the price points: $ 10 or $ 15 for five small pours. No fee is erased with bottle purchase(however, we didn’t seem to find that anywhere). Bottles ranged from $ 20-$ 50 which was definitely overpriced. Some of the grapes are sourced form the Paso Robles area. I can go to Paso and get a much better wine at a MUCH lower price. If you really want to hit this place, I’d say start with it, get a glass and hang out down by the water. You’ll start with passable to decent wine in a beautiful location and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the quality and vibe at your next stops.

Enjoyed the wine and views but the service was really lacking. The woman at the bar was unpleasant and snooty. In fact my husband wanted to walk down the outside bar just to avoid her. If it wasn’t for the service I would rate this a 5 as everything else was right on par with our expectations.(We did not eat any food though). Her attitude really spoiled the experience.

Beautiful vineyard with nice scenery and outdoor grassy area to picnic and enjoy your wines with fruit platters. Two bars located inside and outside. Two different wine flights available that come with a complimentary glass engraved with alcantara vineyards. You can pick a variety of 5 wines to try. Some staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Live music on a Saturday. The earlier the better because it’s less crowded. The moscato was great and they had a great selection of wines, cheeses & bread.

Barb the owner was one of the nicest ladies I have ever met! She went out of her way to talk with us and give us the inside scoop of where to visit on our way up to Sedona. Her dog«Charlie Brown» was so adorable!!! Barb said he didn’t like taking pictures but to try and see if he would mind and surprisingly he let me take one… A good one too! The wine was refreshing and delicious and the lady at the counter pouring for us was nice enough to take a picture of my husband and I and was very friendly. The grounds are super beautiful and I felt very comfortable here. Unlike some other stuffy, stuck up vineyards we have visited in the past. This place is a MUST if your passing through to Jerome or Sedona. The owner said they are expanding the grounds and adding a B&B which we will definitely be back for. They hold tons of events here with live music and food so be sure to be a look out for those! She did say something about one coming in October 2014!

Meh. Warm wine served outside at our table. Nice people for sure, good service but inside the people were a mess when I asked about tastings. Not to mention 5 small tastings for $ 10. Hows the quality of AZ wine? As you would expect. This isn’t Napa folks. Pass.

We may be spoiled. We live in California. The wine was better than I expected but the experience just wasn’t quite there. They didn’t really talk too much about the wines. Perhaps they were too busy that day. I just thought that a boutique place would have a bit more personal touch… but oh well. It’s a cool stop, but don’t ever compare to wineries/vineyards in Cali!!! Arizona wine!!! We bought a bottle.

(April 6 visit) Just A-OK for me. The wines were alright, but out of the three wineries we visited today, this was my least favorite. We got a cheese plate with the wine and it was overpriced for what you get. Nothing unusual or on par for what you get on a cheese plate at other establishments in the area. Probably won’t return unless someone else insists.
