I had a routine physical exam with a few additional tests ordered and I thought that Dr. Schubert was very attentive and knowledgeable. The nightmare started when the bill came for 100% of the fee. I called my insurance company and they assured me that they had not received a claim. I gave my insurance info to the billing office again and in about a month exactly the same happened — I received a bill for the entire amount but my insurance company had not received a claim yet. Once again, I gave the insurer’s address, etc. to the billing office. The receptionist assured me that they would submit a claim and about a week later I received a letter from them threatening me with collection for unpaid bill. Eventually, I paid the entire bill to avoid collection but kept dealing with them as I had made a few visits already and I had a few bills. The insurance company requested some additional information from the doctor’s office in regards to the additional tests which he ordered. The billing office did nothing but sending me bills. They never followed up with requests for extra information. I had to call the doctor’s office, the insurance company and the billing office numerous times about every single issue in order to get anything moving. I did three-way-calls to make sure the office staff understand and send to the insurance whatever was necessary but that did not help either. Eventually, I spoke with the Customer Service manager of the billing office who assured me that she will get the doctors’ notes from Dr. Schubert’s office and forward them to the insurance company. After 8 months of silence, today I received a bill from a collection agency! Well, Dr. Schubert, this simply is patient mistreatment.

I used to like Dr. Schubert’s practice until this morning. I ha moved out of state in April of 2013. I received a call this morning from his office stating that I was being sent to collections over a $ 40 balance on my account. I was perplexed, considering I ha been gone for some time. After asking what the charge was for, I was informed that it was for a «missed appointment» in January of 2013. This was my first time hearing of said charge and I had no recollection of the«missed appointment.» And to threaten to send me to collections is maddening. I spent a fortune at his practice over the years. But he has no worries about losing me as a patient, since he already had because I moved. Things must be bad at his practice if he’s trying to collect questionable charges from over a year ago. Sad.

This is also Affordable Labs if you bought the Groupon last year. I received my results faxed to me and my doctor in LESS than 24 hours, twice as fast as the promised 48 hours. Prices were very reasonable for a mid year check on cholesterol etc. NO insurance taken. Scales were a little different than my usual Quest labs, but nothing you can’t figure out. Results were as I expected and seem in the ballpark. Affordable and FAST. If you have a high deductible this is likely more reasonable out of pocket AND faster than your discounted price through your insurer at your doctors lab. You still need a doctor to order the labs for you. Here’s the website with pricing.
