This location is now closed. Went there last night to watch the hockey game & it was dark, with only a large rental truck in the parking lot. The location is no longer listed on the TK website.

I work nearby the TK in Vernon Hills. A tradition has been for a couple friends of mine and I to do lunch at Tilted Kilt on occassion. The tradition got off to a pretty good start. Food was decent /above average, servers were pretty good, place was fairly happening. By the look of the recent lunch crowds in there lately, it appears we’re not the only ones that feel TK has significantly lost its luster. I «get it» that a theme like that will grow cold after awhile. However the food quality and quantitiy has been in decline for much of the past year. Most of the servers really appear like they’d rather be elsewhere. Today was a perfect example. Although we were one of the first to arrive, and the place later at its rush was maybe 1⁄3rd full, it took a very long time to be served. Ordering soup or a salad to tied you over usually makes sense. Until you have to wait for everything to be brought at the same time. Mediocre food that’s lukewarm at best. People in that area work professional jobs. They don’t have time to wait long periods for service. With so many other options in the area, my friends and I have finally decided we’ve had enough of the Kilt and will take our money elsewhere. If that location makes it til December, I’d be shocked…

I had a quick lunch at Tilted Kilt after picking up a printer from CDW. I figured it wouldn’t be busy because it was so early in the day, and everyone was still at work. My assumptions were correct. Jermaine Stewart would be proud of the girls who work here. They don’t have to take their clothes off to have a good time. I have to say I was rather shocked that Vernon Hills had a restaurant where the women were scantily clad, wearing micro-kilts and halter bras. It only makes me wonder how many suburban husbands are ditching their soccer-mom wives in order to eat a meal at a place where they can allow their mental perversions to run wild. Does this make me angry? No. It honestly depresses me because I’m sure I’m right. «Hit me baby one more time.» The girls here are super friendly. I want them to use what they got to rape their male diners of all of their money. Especially the married ones. Kudos to them for not having to strip for it, and instead just hide behind the title of «server,» therefore only having to concede to bringing these jerks food. They must make bank on tips! I do wonder if they need to be escorted to their cars once the place closes. I also worry that if their boss is male, that he isn’t micro-managing them to the point of insecurity. Tilted Kilt is really a sports bar. The space is huge! I can’t imagine what this place is like once it gets busy. Everywhere you look, there’s sports paraphernalia, relics from the 16th century Scottish Highlands, and TV screens. Never an aesthetically dull moment. Anywhere you sit, you will be comfortable. All things set aside, the food is really good! I ordered the chicken wrap. It was high in sodium and stuffed with tortilla chips, but it was tasty! The French fries that came with it were also just the way I like them, crispy on the outside and gooey baked potato goodness on the inside. If I lived in the area, I’d consider ordering the food to go on a semi-frequent basis. This«pub» is located right across from CDW. That being the case, I shudder to think that CDW executives actually hold lunch meetings here. I did see a group of 2 men and 1 woman dressed in suits, laptops out, holding a meeting. I don’t know where they were from but I wonder what the woman thought. I certainly do not consider this to be the kind of location fit for discussing business. Even if the group is all male. I want to call Tilted Kilt trashy, but readers might think I am referring to the female servers; not the kinds of men that go there. It’s a catch 22, guys. If you go there it says a lot about your character. If you don’t go there, guys, then my girls aren’t going to get paid. Carry on, I suppose. Thanks to Mackenzie for stellar service!

Staffing is very inconsistent here. Rarely do you get decent service here. The flat bread pizzas and the wings are pretty good but any of the sandwiches I have tried have not been. I definitely prefer Twin Peaks for the higher quality of food and service.

The food at Tilted Kilt is surprisingly good, if you know what to order. The wings, garlic fries, burgers, spicy black bean wrap, potato chip nachos and«Tilted Guilt» are my favorites. I’d definitely rate this place higher than the alternatives in the area: Chili’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, TGI Fridays, etc.

I stopped into this place expecting a high concept Celtic style tavern. This is high concept, but not exactly one for me. There are quite a few beers on draft, but frankly given the great selection of amazing local brews and specialty beers, I was very underwhelmed with the selection. More interesting were a couple of beer cocktails I enjoyed which included a beergarita and a mixture of beer, whiskey and cinnamon schnapps. The menu is pedestrian. However, I did find an unusual steamed clam appetizer which piqued my curiosity. I would have been 100% better if it weren’t so salty. The bill wasn’t correct because they were showing a special for beer cocktails which wasn’t reflected on my tab, but they fixed it for me after I caught it. The high concept plays itself out in the form of very scantily clad twenty something waitresses who practically coo at you if there’s a bigger tip in it for them. When they figured out that teeny bikinis and panty-high mini kilts didn’t do it for me, my husband and my best friend, we were sort of ignored. All that’s missing in this place is a stripper pole.

Better than your average sports bar, the beer selection could be better. For what it is, it’s pretty decent.

Tilted Kilt has some good looking girls who are totally fake. I used to come here 3 or 4 times a month bring a friend or someone from my office. I have been here for lunch and dinner and the girls are less friendly around lunch time. It’s like a down scale hooters restaurant with women who didn’t go to college. By the way the food isn’t really anything special just cheap looking American food with lame Irish theme. Like I said before I rather go to a strip club get free food and the girls give better service then here. I made a pass at one of your girls she took my business card and she service me in another way thank you for that by the way.

Food wasn’t good and service wasn’t great either. Beer was cold. That is something but not enough. No matter how short the skirts get I can not get past that the food and service just isn’t good.

1st time visit. Fairly dead for almost 10pm on a Friday night. Immediate service. Girl helping us did not know squat about beer. They are very accomodating with the beer samples but not very helpful with beer information. No prices on the drink menu, which prompts me to always ask, and of course the wait staff do not know what the drink prices are either. Really people? Is it that difficult? And yes I am the type of person that will wait while you go find out how much everything is. This is basic 101. My wife ordered the potato chip nachos and liked them, me not so much. My wife also ordered a rootbeer beer. That’s right, a beer that tastes exactly like root beer. Pretty interesting if you like that sort of thing. Anyway, my wife was totally into it, the beer was served in a little baby snifter glass and she loved it. All was good until they brought me my beer in a little baby glass. This baby did not want a baby glass, I am a big boy and I want a big boy glass. I was told that the reason for the little glasses was because the beer was higher in alcohol content. OK, I am following you, but is that not all the more reason why you would want a bigger glass?! At that point I also found out that my baby glass cost seven dollars which I refused to pay or drink. My waitress had to graduate it to the manager at this point because she was not able to manage a situation of this magnitude. So I spoke with the manager, explained the fact that I was a first time visitor and was unaware of the baby glass policy. I asked the manager if they had big boy glasses, he said they did, and I told him that was what I wanted. Problem solved. In the course of our conversation, the manager had informed me that the alcohol content of the baby glass beer I had ordered was 12.5 which I seriously doubted. I googled it and it was indeed 10.5 so he was just a smidge off. Any who how, maybe it was just beginners luck, but beware of the baby glass policy and other than that, it seems like a perfectly decent place to catch a game and hang. Not much unlike Hooters except minus those terrible orange shorts and fake tan panty hose which I consider an improvement :-)

Tilted Kilt is one of my favorite Irish sports bars. I use to go there every weekend because of it was across the street from my workplace(left place of employment). Burgers are the thing to get here. My favorite is the french connection burger. The prices for food are reasonable($ 10-$ 30) but alcohol is a little pricey and they don’t really have any«cheap» daily drink specials. The interior of the restaurant is consistent with it’s Irish theme. The girls wear«kilts» and of course very pretty. One cool thing is that the girls are allowed to sit with their serving patrons and chat. It’s something different compared to other chains. This is also the ultimate place to go to if you want to watch a sporting event or fights. There are at least 20 big screen HDTV’s. One important note is that they DO NOTcharge a cover for any fights(UFCMMA, Boxing)! They just have a two drink minimum. If you looking for good food, atmosphere, and cute waitresses this is the right place for you!

Hooters who? Holy buckets! This place rocks. Excellent bar scene. The service is good, and the servers themselves are even better. Arguably the worst place for a business lunch ever, but very likely one of the best places for Friday afternoon absenteeism.(The food isn’t half bad either.)

This place was great to come and watch the game. I’m an out of towner and after several failed attempts to find the Heat game on TV by the staff the manager came over to me and personally searched for it. With his extra effort, the game was found!!! I sat at the bar and had great service. I ordered the spicy chicken strips and was happy with my order. Obviously you don’t come here for gourmet eating,(its the ladies you want) however it defiantly delivers a fun experience with good food to boot!

I liked this place a lot more than I thought I would! I read the reviews and I pictured a slightly more upscale Hooters. Tilted Kilt is known for their cute girls in short plaid skirts/kilts. I certainly don’t mind the company of pretty girls, and I heard the food was really good, so to Tilted Kilt I went! I loooooved my dinner, every bite! Drunken clams are so good I could just drink the broth they come in. I had actually ordered a ‘Garlic Chicken Pizza’ but the place was loud, and my server though she heard ‘Gaelic Chicken’, which is a dinner plate. She asked what kind of side I wanted, but I wasn’t fast enough to realize that mashed potatoes and pizza aren’t commonly served together. Me bad!(Although mashed potatoes may not be too bad on a pizza? I would eat it!) I had enough time to change my order, but meh, not important, Gaelic chicken sounded pretty good, and it was! Oh wow, the sauce! Chicken was so tender! My server felt so bad that she got the order wrong, she offered to buy me the pizza in addition to the dinner. I told her it wasn’t a big deal, I understand it was a busy Friday night, and I had plenty of time to change it had I wanted to. The drinks are amazing. They have this Purple Haze drink, it’s my favorite drink ever now! I need to learn to make them myself, it’s pure grapey goodness. That bartender really knows her stuff! I noticed that when a table has males and females, the servers focus more on the female customers than the guys. It’s very cool of them to do, very respectful! I think I end up chatting with my servers as much as my friends when I am here, I have fun talking to them and I get a super tasty dinner? Sold! I just wish this place were closer!

I’m sorry to say that my time at the Tilted Kilt was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Now I spent quite a few years in the service industry, so I tend to err on the side of generous and forgiving. Wasn’t able to do so in this instance. We took my brother-in-law out for his bachelor party and started with dinner at the Tilted Kilt. It seemed like a good choice when we first got there. New restaurant, lots of TVs and a great drink special. We had a party of 13, so they assigned 2 servers to our table. All good so far. I started to have the first twinge of unease when we had to ask to order our main course, an hour after we had been there. No biggie, I thought. They just wanted to give us a chance to settle in. When an hour passed with no sign of our food, I was concerned. After asking the hostess to check on our food and send the manager over, 2 meals(out of 13) arrived with no manager. Food runners continued to approach our table with meals after that. The problem was that most of the meals weren’t ours. We probably turned away a dozen meals before the next installment of meals arrive 20 mins later. At this point, we’re still waiting for 2 – 3 meals to arrive, 90 mins after ordering. We ask again to speak to a manager, but no one comes over. Finally everyone has his meal except the bride’s father, who is forced to walk into the kitchen to request a french dip sandwich. 1 hour 40 mins for a french dip sandwich? Finally the manager makes it over and hears our complaints. He seems nice but not very competent and completely overwhelmed. He was the only manager I saw on the floor on a busy Saturday night. Our server returns to bat her eyes at us and tell us that«I really hope you guys come back!» as if there was any chance of that. They comped us an unsatisfactory amount from our bill and we left, unsatisfied and unhappy. I understand that this chain doesn’t prize serving ability over physical looks, but trust me: I’d rather have Flo, the 56-year-old professional waitress take my order if it will save me waiting 1hr40min for a french roll, filled with pre-cooked roast beef. Went to this particular Kilt for the second time last night. The first time was slow and there were numerous errors, but we chalked it up to the recent opening. Last night, however, was one of the worst restaurant experiences in my life. To start, neither our bartender nor our server could tell us any of the beers on tap. Our server, in a misguided attempt to be helpful, actually told us «Well, if you say the name of the beer, I might be able tell you if we have it». While annoyed, we did feel bad because clearly they have not been able to get the appropriate training. Then our food arrived and things got much, much worse. One of our three dishes was cold(not room temperature, cold) and the other two were undercooked. When we told the server, she shrugged and said there was nothing she could do, but she would try to talk to the manager. She came back much later, still without a solution, so we told her to take the food away and it would ether need to be remade or taken off the bill. When she returned, she said she could do neither, but she could give us a round of drinks. Now, no customer should ever pay for uncooked food, so we again asked for the manager. He came over, rude from the start. He accused us of lying, said the food was fine, and kept trying to give us a sob story about them be open only a few days(when in reality, it had been two weeks). He refused to accommodate us in any way(either by bringing new food or taking the food off the bill), saying that our old food was being reheated in the kitchen(gross) and we would just have to suck it up. We told him that we would not pay for such a thing, and he said«OK» and we got up to leave. At this point, things got even worse as he attempted to block my path(I am a petite woman) to the door. I managed to get around him, but needless to say, it was a very uncomfortable moment. Kilt, the cute girls will only get your so far. If you can’t provide even the most basic food and the most basic service, you shouldn’t be in business.

My pal and I decided we wanted to get out and try something new, and the new Vernon Hills Tilted Kilt caught our fancy. It was very lively on a Friday night — loud, but not at all unruly. Everyone, including the staff, seemed in very good spirits. We sat down, our server promptly got our drink orders, and brought them over lighting-fast. Looking over the menu, we were impressed by the venerable pub favorites and some more-unique dishes. We started out with the Drunken Clams and Potato Skins, and weren’t disappointed. The skins were crispy, and generously loaded. The clams were cooked just perfectly, with a nice spicy broth to wake up the tastebuds. For the main course, I ordered the Olde Dublin Irish Stew, and my broski had the Gaelic Chicken. My stew was EXCELLENT — as good as any I’ve had in recent memory, at fancier-pantsier restaurants. It had a unique taste signature, with a very rich and fresh flavor, and a subtle hint of sweetness that really impressed me. The veggies and meat were perfectly cooked, and the portion was just right. I also got to polish off the rest of the Gaelic Chicken. The cream sauce was very satisfying, and the chicken was prepared just right. Both dishes featured tasty mashed potatoes, perfectly portioned out. The mixed drinks my comrade ordered(Purple Haze and Celtic Crush) were very good. They were very smart mixes of flavors, and very aesthetically pleasing. They had just the right amount of alcohol, so you could sample several drinks, without getting royally hammered. The drinks were a good complement to the comfortably rich pub food. Dinner was definitely great, and our server — the awesome Emilie — definitely helped enrich the experience. She was friendly, attentive, fast, and fun to chat with. All together, we very-much enjoyed our Tilted Kilt experience, and were actually shocked at how modest the prices were. I’ve literally paid twice as much, for far less-impressive experiences, at other taverns in the area. I certainly intend to go back to try out more dishes, drinks, maybe watch a game or UFC event(there were dozens of TVs all around the dining area and bar), and enjoy the nice atmosphere. I sincerely hope the Vernon Hills Tilted Kilt thrives, as this area could really benefit from the infusion of fun and character.

Went here for the football kickoff game Thursday night. We just wanted to try out the new restaurant, eat some wings, drink some beers and enjoy the Packers lose(unfortunately they won). We ordered the hot wings and their special wings. They messed up our order so gave us extra wings which was ok, except they are terrible!!! Their hottest wings are a joke, and sweet wings taste gross. They were dry and covered in some sort of garlic. The fries did not save us either since they also were covered in garlic. Our waitress seemed like she has never served before and didn’t quite get it. What Chicago really needs is a showmees. Tilted kilt has the skanky wardrobe and no taste.

The servers are knockouts, the food is good, and they have a okay beer selection. There are 20 plus TVs, perfect for any sports day. And did I forget to mention the servers are beautiful and really cool. They all took pictures and put up with our stories. If you want a night out with the guys, it’s a good place. Little pricey but still fun.
