I have been to this Dave & Busters location about 4 or 5 times since it has opened. The games are great and it’s a great place to go if you don’t want to drink or eat. This place has by far the worst service I have ever experienced. Tonight was the last straw, we literally waited 30 minutes at the bar trying to get service(the bar was not that busy) and when we did get served the bartender slammed the drink on the bar.(Seriously no joke) I’m not sure what the issue is with their service, but beware those ladies working are not happy. So go ahead and play the games but go elsewhere for food and drinks if you want good service.

I went here yesterday(Wednesday) to play some games, have a couple drinks and dinner. The location is easy to get to. It’s half price on the games so I think this is the perfect time to go because otherwise you are paying quite a lot for a game. The games were fun and it wasn’t too crowded. We went to the bar after to grab a couple drinks and that’s really why this place only gets 3 stars from me. The service was pretty bad. They were very slow and inattentive so you will be waiting quite some time for the drinks and then to pay. The drinks tasted great — try the snow cones! I also had their skinny margarita which was also very yummy. Dinner in the dining area was a bit better. Slightly better service, our waitress was nice and knowledgable. Food was good and I highly recommend their chocolate cake. Ridiculously good and you get a large slice you can easily share… If you want to that is!

The staff at the front desk at the top of the stairs are very unhelpful and rude. We were sat at a table in the bar where multiple servers walked past and waited over 20mins, no one came so we left.

Besides getting cut by a piece of glass sticking out of a chair, the service was extremely slow. My first time here and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Attention General Manager Phil Shabat– This review is to bring attention to your fabulous Server Tom in Vernon Hills, date 1//23/16 we had a rowdy crowd due to a 40th birthday, confusing checks to be sorted, constant random request, people coming and going, he handled it all with outstanding prompt service, a smile, and great tolerance !!! Bravo Tom and Again Thank You!

I am extremely disappointed in my experiences at this Dave and Buster’s. On my last visit we had a group of 7 people and were sat at a booth that still had dishes and food from the previous guest. W had to wait 15 minutes to even have a server stop by our table and after another 45 minutes we still hadn’t gotten our drinks. Our group was so frustrated we left after an hour and still had received no service. The bar was extremely dirty and had over 4 feet of it filled with dirty glasses. The server had little to no attention to service and the manager walked around and was not able to identify or fix any issues. This poor service had happened 3 out of 3 times that we have visited.

Went here last night had a great time playing games, like how they decided to get rid of the actual paper tickets and just add them to your card as you play me and my girlfriend were just talking about that the last time we went to game works. We decided to eat when we were done playing. The service wasn’t as pleasant as the games were. We had to ask for a waitress since no one asked if we would like to order. After ordering she never came back to check in us to see if everything was ok. Probably towards the end of her shift on New Year’s Day m, she probably just wanted to go home so I can understand just thought she could have been a little more on here game.

Ok people… You don’t go to D&Bs for good food and great service. You go to D&Bs to drink and play video games. It’s an adult Chuck E. Cheese. Be warned… The service at this location is really awful.

Some said they waited 20 minutes. We waited 2 hours after putting the Appetizer order then we received a bill before the Appetizer came. Then we complained and they brought out only One Appetizer. Then we waited half hour more to receive the other one. Please don’t come here to eat. Come here to play Arcade game. That’s it.

Went for dinner and games ended up ordering appetizers and desserts food was decent, but the service not so much. Can you say slow we literally sat and ate for1 ½ hours asking other servers for the correct drink order and our bill. Maybe the worst service I’ve ever experienced. As for the games not bad but I was hoping to find some more old school fun.

My friend likes to come here every year for his birthday to watch sports games and play the games. This is the second year in a row that we’ve had a terrible server. Last year we had about 15 people in our party and the server that they assigned to our table, it was her first day serving by herself. Needless to say she couldn’t handle our requests and we waited forever for our food and drinks. We decided to come back this year and clearly the same thing but just a different situation. This guy kept coming back to the table asking what we ordered and what was on our tab. So irritating because if he was a good server he would know. Hopefully if my friend decides to come again next year we’ll have a seasoned server.

Came to this place for the Sunday night NFL games. There’s easily 11 – 1255″ tv’s mounted in their bar area. Yes, there’s a full bar & video games with enough time you can maybe probably hopefully win something worth upwards of $ 5. There’s definitely a ton of 20 something aged couples and even a few families here. Around the corner, there’s a family seating area with two huge 80″ screens fit for a king and another 4 – 640″ screens too. I love me some NFL on Sunday’s so this room was a plus. There’s a couple cute female waitresses working so that’s always a plus. The food was fast and the drinks were too. I honestly don’t think I’ll go anywhere else on football Sundays again! I recommend getting the game card with your food since it offers free game play with a meal. Do it! Do it now!

My review and my 5 stars is purely based on comparing this location with the Milwaukee one. Hands down, this is the better of the two. I was there on a Wednesday which had ½ price game promotion and there’s just so much to do there. They have private dining rooms for meetings/or for your next fantasy football draft! They do have one of the best sliders I have had in awhile and their service is pretty attentive even with a busy crowd.

Food was very blah. I ordered the Buffalo chicken and the burger was clearly a frozen patty. The sauce tasted like nothing. When the kid brought out the food he asked if we needed anything else, I replied yes a steak knife and my wife asked for ketchup. 16 minute go by and nothing. Then he brings out the food for the table next to us and I can tell he knows he forgot. But do you think he made up for his mistake? No. Still no ketchup and still not steak knife. I don’t think we will ever eat here again. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone other than for the entertainment and games. Other than that our waitress was very nice, just the food and the guy that brought out our food.

Fun! Came here on a Saturday evening with a group of friends for dinner, drinks, and games because it’s a sports bar and arcade. This Dave & Buster’s location is definitely incomparable to the other locations based on cleanliness. Despite it having arcade games and prizes, it really is geared to the adults; noise level(loud), drinks(alcohol/full bar), and prices(expensive & not on a kids allowance budget). Our group ordered the Triple Play appetizer(wings, mozzarella sticks, & potato skins) and pretzel dogs, which tasted good like your typical bar food. Also tried the lawnmower salad that is large enough to feed a group of 4 or more as a side salad, philly cheesesteak(meat was good, bread is tough/chewy…change the bread), buffalo wing burger(huge & tasted better if you ordered a side of buffalo & ranch to dip), and the south philly burger(tasty & filling). We also ordered sides of buffalo sauce and ranch to enhance any flavoring and for dipping our tater tots and fries. Our service was great(maybe an improvement made based on previous reviews), and our waitress Anya didn’t hesitate to refill our drinks, offer extra dipping sauces, and clean off our tables of plates. The games were fun and different than your typical arcade games… now where can you find a giant version of Candy Crush or Temple Run instead of staring at the small screen of your phone. Also, there was a multi-player air hockey game that got our group crazed. After a couple of drinks, playing the 6 player trivia game is great and gives away a large amount of tickets. Dave & Buster’s is great for groups of adults to simply have fun with their friends, and too loud and pricey for kids.

Fun for all? We brought our niece and nephew here on a weekend evening. As others have mentioned before, it is loud in here. There are a lot of cool looking games to play but it doesn’t seem to be such a great deal when you think about it. They have a lot of arcade games and video games which the kids enjoy. The way it works is you purchase tokens on a card to play games to win tickets from playing the games. The kids collected lots of tickets but when it was all over there were barley enough to get what they wanted. When you sit there and look at the things that they pick out you scratch your head and think that you could have saved the money and purchased the items for the kids. I understand that it is fun for them to play but it just add up me.

I’m trying to find something positive. We visited here on a Saturday night. To sum: * Service was super slow and mediocre at best. Took 5 minutes to get a soda and at least 20 minutes to receive a beer after it was ordered. Restaurant was only about 75% full. * Burgers were awful. Made with some type of processed meat I’m guessing. Fries were way, way too salty.(And I like salty fries) * Menu pages on multiple different menus were stuck together. * Waited in line for 20 minutes to get tokens for kids. Had to pay $ 2 for a card. Gal taking orders was slow, didn’t explain the process or why I even needed the card, and was short with me for not being more educated about the establishment procedures. And why was there only one gal taking orders when the line went halfway down the stairs? The positive! Yes, I found one positive item to mention: Both the men’s and women’s bathroom was clean. Regarding the games, each kid burned through $ 40 worth of play pretty quick. Great concept. Tonight, they failed with the execution.

We’ve visited here several times now and for the most part the experience has been consistent. As with venues of this type, they have a tendency to be a little pricey, but if you are looking for something to do for a kids special occasion, or a rainy day, the this place does very well. There are plenty of games here to keep both kids and adults entertained. As a family, we enjoy planing a few games together and we are are able to do so at this location. But mostly the kids go off on their own and credits permitting, they can be gone for hours. Meanwhile the parents /adults can sit in comfortable chairs and socialize. They have good bar type foods and so far we’ve been happy with just about everything we’ve ordered. We do have a tendency to order mainly off the appetizer menu which works out very well. Our experience with the service has been okay… but if they are jammed with several parties that are going on at the same time, then it can be a little spotty. As I mentioned, the place is a little on the pricy side, for both the food and the gaming. We generally get the middle package on the gaming cards(4 cards total) and the kids of course use their’s up, and then come back and use the adults cards. However, as you’ll see there is a charge for the card itself, so don’t toss them away and next time you come, you can reuse the cards and simply have them recharged. In summary, the good is good, the service it hit or miss, and it does keep the family entertained. A great place to come to on a once in a while basis.

It’s soooo loud! Four stars because I was honestly thrilled that my kids got invited to a birthday party here — we are not fans of those trampoline places where they pull the parents aside and show you the different ways kids can break their necks and potentially die. You know… don’t land this way or that way or the other way the wrong way. Don’t get me started. We arrived and it was a little bit disorganized at the front desk, but we eventually found our way back to birthday party room #3 — of course that was after we lost one kid along the way. We turned around and the friend we brought with us was gone and we were searching for him everywhere. Eventually we found him, but not without a scare. Within the first minute I noticed what an ADD nightmare this place is, how easy it is to lose a kid, and how loud it is. I have sensitive ears and my ears were ringing after 10 – 15 minutes, so prepare yourself. This place is like Vegas for kids. Think grown up Chuck E Cheese. This is where you go when you can’t find a sitter or want to invite a large group of kids for a birthday. Dump your kid off at game area with friends and watch the football game on the many large TV screens in the bar area. Kids get a card and fill it up with $, play the hundreds of games and redeem their winnings for prizes. They have classic games like Pac-Man to the Claw to more advanced Vegas looking slot machines. Prizes are pretty decent. My kids got these really good quality whoopie cushions. For expert players, there is the chance to win Legos and XBox games! Proceed with caution depending on the age of your kid. For an adult this seems like a great place to hang with colleagues — like Kevin N’s after work team-building function. I’d let my kids come back, but I might not be with them the next time around.
