As far as taste alone goes, I give them 4 stars. I only had soup(lobster bisque) so I cannot claim to be an expert on all of their food. We recently ordered some food from Chive for lunch — 2 others ordered a salad, I was not that hungry so I thought I’d try the soup. I have looked online at the menus and they say it is $ 6 for the lobster bisque but I believe this soup was seemingly a bargain at $ 4-something(maybe I read the paper menu wrong). The person who placed the order over the phone told me the price came to $ 6-something(for tax & maybe a delivery fee, I suppose). They asked me how much change did I want back from my $ 10 bill — I said $ 2.50. When the delivery person brought the food I heard him tell our orderer — he said something like«Huh $ 2.50?» as if coins were something ridiculous that he should be expected to be carrying. So basically I wound up with $ 2 in change and the soup was tiny. I took pictures of the container with my cell phone because I thought the size was a joke. I will end on a + note: the soup tasted very good — just not enough of it and not worth $ 8(nor $ 7.50) in my opinion. Update: I am increasing my rating to 4 stars — after the above 3 star review I received a nice letter from Chive with my .50 cents also the letter mentioned a $ 25 gift cert but it was missing(someone else in the office must have taken it?). I will try Chive again.

Simply delicious! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Everyone in line was ordering the lobster bisque… the woman behind us asked us if it was our first time and that we had to order the bisque! Needless to say, it was incredibly. I also highly recommend the lobster tacos. It works the same way as a subway or Chipotle, where you select from a variety of toppings, but the options are very fresh. A little pricier than your usually fast food place, but it’s worth it!

A build your own burrito/bowl/salad place with many fresh fixings. Although there are many vegan combinations that can be created, there is no protein substitute such as tofu. Chive is a great place for a healthy, filling lunch.

We are in Vero Beach every 6 – 8 weeks and love the restaurants there. We tried Chive for the first time in early July. It is great. What a fun place. You choose your protein and whether you would like it prepared as a burrito, tacos, po’boy sandwich or salad(maybe another option I am forgetting). Then you tell them what ingredients you want with it. I love being able to «build my own» entrée. We met the owner and he was very friendly. He suggested the Korean beef to my husband. He LOVED it. Wanted to go back the next day to have it again. He had his as tacos with the ingredients they suggested which included rice noodles. It was really good. I had chicken and liked the flavor. I had tacos too. The restaurant is fun and the food is fresh and good. Definitely try it. We tried the location on Royal Palm.

I have mixed feelings about this place. They do have good fresh food served quickly and not over seasoned. Unfortunately the service is really lacking. I work around the corner at a salon, and we often order from the choice at the end of Royal Palm Point. They NEVER get our order right. Not one time has the dressing been on the side, or the cheese off completely because of a stated food allergy. Not once! We have given up trying. Because we order and eat when we get to it, we end up with wilted lettuce from hot meat and dressing all over it for an hour, or calling back and having to get another sandwich… The strange part it that it’s a build it yourself kind of place, kind of like chipotle but with salads and wraps, so we are not ordering off menu, our requests are requested! So if you want to go sit and eat in, great! Do it! They build it in front of you so it will be perfect! Get the salad bowl with shrimp and grilled onions and peppers with the citrus dressing because it’s super light and healthy as well as delicious! Just don’t take it to go, and never call in an order! *to be fair they did run a new cheese free wrap down to us and were apologetic… but sheesh!

Very solid place to pick up a healthier fast casual meal! Service was friendly and helpful. They have lots of vegetarian options, along with seafood/chicken type salads and wraps. It is set up so everything is done right in front of you(a la Chipotle) and all of it was amazingly fresh! I opted for a salad and a decadent side of homemade macaroni and cheese. So good! I also ordered a piece of their banana bread to go and it was tasty, but small for the price. Overall, it’s a pretty cute, small place with only a few tables. I liked the local art on the walls and the chalkboard menus. I noticed most customers were opting for take out, but it is fun to eat in too. If I am in the neighborhood, I will definitely stop by again! Thanks Chive(love the name by the way!)

In a class of its own for great casual(customizable) food. 5 stars for pretty much everything: environment, food quality, taste, portion size etc.

My wife found the place based on Unilocal reviews. She had a chicken wrap and I had a chicken Po Boy. We both really enjoyed our selections. The server was very friendly and courteous.

I could write a long review, but I’m lazy, so I’ll sum this up quickly. Great prices. Large portions. Entirely customizable. Delicious. Friendly service that doesn’t make you feel bad because your burrito ends up being unusually large. Each burrito/wrap/whatever comes with a side, which isn’t really necessary, but hey, I’ll take it! Their sides are tasty too. Did I mention the food is excellent? This place is like Chipotle on steroids. Chipotle still has its place — if you want more Mexican/TexMex, go to Chipotle. But if you want a similar product that is more non-Mexican-oriented, Chive is the place to go. This place is a success. It earns a solid 5 star rating for its outstanding value and diverse options available. Pro-tip: get the chimichurri sauce!

If you need something quick and aren’t in the mood for the run of the mill fast food places, Chive is the way to go. Think Chipotle style service — choose from a Butter Lettuce Salad; Wrap/Burrito(includes 1 side); Tacos(includes 1 side); Po Boy(includes 1 side); or Beans and Rice Bowl and customize it. I went with the mahi-mahi fish tacos with the thai glass noodles as my side — It was delicious. The only downside is that the prices are a bit on the high side for tiny little Vero Beach. Pro-tip: «Liking» their Facebook page gives you a chance to win a free meal.

Fresh food, and you can customize your meal! I pretty much got myself a fish taco and it was delicious. And the mac & cheese is sooo good. One non-food suggestion: give out those little packets of hand wipes for(delightfully) messy, saucy wraps and soft tacos. :) I live in another state and look forward to my next visit with my family so I can eat here again.

Think locally-owned, Panera-like café. Soups, salads, wraps available. Friendly service, reasonable prices. Parking and seating is limited so I suggest take-out. Location is convenient if you’re in the downtown Vero area, otherwise you’ll have to spend some time driving to get over there.

Found this little place via Unilocal(thanks Unilocalers!) one day when I was working in Vero. When I first walked in, I loved the place. The menu is a bit overwhelming for a first timer visiting alone… so I ended up ordering what the person in front of me ordered!(Hey, beans & rice with pulled pork & onions/peppers — can’t go wrong!) The food was tasty. There weren’t many places to sit inside, so I sat outside despite the weather. The prices are a tiny bit high but the portions are hearty and the food is fresh, so you really do get what you pay for. I’m sure I’ll be back!

Another great Unilocal find! It’s like a Chipotle, only so much better with a million more choices! You pick either a bowl, burrito, taco, po boy, or salad. Then pick a meat — which include the norm, plus seared Ahi tuna, shrimp, etc. And they heat it up in a sizzling skillet to order. Then choose toppings — fresh avocado(½!), salsa, cheeses(feta, parm, etc), and then your choice of a bunch of sauces — siracha mayo, wasabi mayo, etc. They have sides, too — mac/cheese, glass noodle salad, soup(even lobster bisque!). The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the beans were flavored and it took away from the fresh lime and avocado a little bit. I had a rice and bean bowl with flank steak, avocado, lime, cilantro, fresh salsa, onions, and jalapeños. My friend had a wrap with spinach, ahi tuna, glass noodles, and a side of mac and cheese. We sat outside and enjoyed every last bite!

Traveling from west palm to vero for work is not my favorite thing to do, but that changed when I came to Chive for lunch. I read some reviews and decided to satiate my craving for some seafood. I had the lobster roll with the glass noodle salad. The roll had big chunks of delicious lobster– satisfying without leaving me feeling too full. The noodle salad is served cold. It has a bit of a spicy kick to it, but was super yummy and refreshing on a hot day. I tried the banana bread with captain Morgan apple butter. Oh my. I could have had that for my meal. Chive is a hip little joint off the beaten path. My only complaint is that it is very small and crowds up quickly. It would be easier to get food to go. The rest of the menu looked awesome. They have tons of fresh toppings available. I hope they open a location closer to me!
