I am not impressed with the food. Service was ok, but the food was adequate for the 4 of us at best. The clams my Aunt had were dry and a tad stinky. We sent those back. My mahi tacos were a bit tasteless and they put 1 chunk of fish on each taco. It was blackened and had some spice to them, but just lacking the taste. My dad had the fried shrimp. He said it was pretty good and wasn’t weighed down with all that heavy batter. My sister, decided to be different and get the chicken quesadilla. She said it was good, but again, lacked flavor. The onion strings were tasty but mine were luke warm. I’m just not impressed with the place and the food. If you are a larger person, don’t bother to get a booth. Holy moley it is tight. We are pretty thin and had trouble and there’s a very large pole you have to maneuver around to get in. Parking is across the street, and that’s fine since there’s lots of it. The décor is cute and fish campy. There are tv’s to watch and liquor, beer and wine. As I have said in my reviews before, you can try it for yourself, I just know we didn’t have very good food and had to send a whole meal back and it was one of the specials tonight. I won’t be back. There are plenty of places that serve great fish consistently.

The fish Shack located in Vero Beaches quaint downtown has a nice ambiance with friendly service a nice beer selection and pretty good food. If they could bring to Vero a little bit of what the New England Fish Market Restaurant in Palm City offers they would definitely get a star fish rating.

This was a so — so meal. I was somewhat disappointed after hearing and reading what a great place this was to eat. Matter of fact I don’t even remember what I had. Oh ya! The beer was flat. Would I go back? Not right away. Too many other places to explor. It definitely is not on my GPS destination list. Being from the Boston area I am use to good seafood. Let’s put it this way, the is just a tad below«the no name» and that ain’t saying much.

Our first and last visit here. Slow service followed with disappointing undercooked seafood to top it off with an owner who did nothing but grunt at us. He knew we were in unhappy in our first visit and let us walk out the door. Never again will he get our business.

Great food. Missing one star because the key lime pie ruined entire meal. Very very tart.

Conch chowder was spicy and amazing. Tuna needed a little more seasoning and soy sauce. Dirty oysters were the cheapest in the area, but not cheap in taste. They were very yummy! Service was on point and delightful. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We will be back soon.

I had heard good things about this Vero restaurant and finally got by to try it. Having grown up in upstate New York and vacation on the coast of New England I was hopeful I would find a new place to overstuff myself on whole belly fried clams, lobster rolls and clam chowder. I wasn’t disappointed. A weekly event in upstate New York is Friday night fish fry. Any restaurant worth it’s fryer oil is serving up a fresh beer battered haddock with a pile of fries and coleslaw. The Fish Shack does this on Tuesday night with an all you can eat twist for $ 10.95. My son and I started with cups of clam chowder(no reason to make a distinction between red or white cuz all clam chowder is white, who knows what the other stuff is) it wasn’t the best I’ve had but I’ll give it a 3 out of 5. It came fast and hot. Not far on its heals was our first helping of fish and fries. While not the whole side of fresh haddock I’m used to, it was tasty and hot with a beer batter that was crunchy and not at all soggy. Of course fries and slaw are often an afterthought, but the fries were crisp and the slaw was pleasantly sweet. Our bill with a couple of softdrinks came to $ 45.00 with the tip. The service was friendly and prompt. I look forward to returning and diving into a basket of whole belly fried clams, I’m guessing I will be in heaven.

My wife and I are there once a week for lunch. Occasionally we make it to Fishack for dinner. Always a great experience. Great food and fantastic service. I’ve never left hungry or dissatisfied. Raw oysters, oyster po’ boy and lobster roll are just a few favorites.

Ummm… it was ok. Everyone at my table got the tuna and I should have as well. I got something that was a ravioli«stew». It was very brothy and looked a mess. It tasted ok, but meh. I think this is a place that seems to get by on having been around for awhile and the locals keep it in business because there’s only so many places to go.

First upon walking in, it was hotter inside than it was outside. We have been here several times, and it was always just ok. I had the shrimp po boy, the shrimp did not taste fresh at all, and now that I’m home… I know for sure they were not. I won’t be going back.

We decided to go with the waitress’ recommendations and the we were not disappointed. I had the seafood stew and the hubby had the mahi special. Both plates were cleaned off by the end. The kids fish and chips was devoured by the 2 year old, so he definitely gave it two thumbs up. Not too many beers on draft, but what we had was good(Bimini IPA).

We decided to go for lunch yesterday and I have to tell you the food was fantastic! There was only 2 servers in the place and it’s not small. But they were super attentive and made sure to keep checking in on us. Super friendly and great atmosphere. I had the fish burrito and my wife had the shrimp tacos. Both were amazing. We started off with the conch fritter and they are the best I’ve had so far! I would definitely recommend this place for lunch to anyone and will be going back!

We love trying a little taste of everything and if you use Localdines it’s half price. .Try the pan sheared scallops or Chowdah and the Lob Lob Mac rocks

Our intention was to go to the Kilted Mermaid next door for lunch but they do not open until 5:00.So we decided to give this place a try. Lots of people were having lunch here. Decorations were bright with a beach theme. The owner was very friendly when she greeted us. Our waitress was very attentive. Started out with the mussels as an appetizer. They were served in a white wine, garlic sauce. Excellent and tasty. Mahi fish tacos were very good but the portion of fish was a little on the skimpy side. The coleslaw was served in a plastic container the size of a shot glass… ridiculous! French fries were tasty.

I love coming to Fishack when I’m visiting my parents in Vero. On a recent visit, I thoroughly enjoyed my tuna tacos. I swapped out the fries for a salad(the fries are good, though), and asked for a side salad instead. Their crab ranch dressing is totally delicious. My husband enjoyed his oyster po boy, and my dieting dad gave his veggie wrap a 7 out of 10(the wrap was tasty, but the vegetables needed to be drained more – «tasty but messy»). On my recent visit, I wasn’t drinking beyond the tasty unsweetened tea my dad and I ordered. However, I’ve had great luck with their margaritas in the past – totally delicious. For the price, we really like fishack. Don’t come here for a hot date or for the atmosphere – come for the cheap beers and the delicious tacos.

The Fishack is a funky beach-themed bar and restaurant featuring many varieties of seafood. The décor is mostly beach kitsch with lots of hand-painted details and some great murals.(The ladies room included!) We were in the neighborhood to visit the place next door and decided to stop in for a pre-drink beverage. After seeing some yummy food options delivered to others sitting at the bar we had a look at the menu and ordered the conch fritters and the lobster mac & cheese. The conch fritters were small, but had nice big chucks of conch in them. They were the conch-iest fritters I have ever had and I would order them again and again! The folks next to us also order some oysters that looked great, some fish tacos and a grilled fish sandwich, all of which they seemed really happy with. In addition to the yummy food options, they had a great choices at the bar, both in beer and in flavored vodka selections. Next time we are in the area I would love to stop back in!

I was pretty impressed with our lunch stop to Fishack! My wife and I were staying in Vero Beach and just kinda started driving around to see the area and find some lunch and(with help to Unilocal’s app lol) we came across this place. It was a friendly atmosphere, clean looking place and the servers were very nice. I had some fresh oysters with their hot sauce, and the hot sauce is AMAZING. They sell it. I made the mistake of not buying it and now I miss it. I had tuna taco’s which were outstanding and the hot sauce flowed over those too! We had a great experience and I would definitely swing by again next time I am in the area!

Had the smoked fish dip –it was good, stuffed snapper was yummy, and the shacktastic Sandwich was uneventful/bland. Hokey beach décor, but there are TVs all around to watch whatever sport is on.
