Orchid Island Pizzeria

Good food, good people. Ordered dinner one night while staying next door at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. Take out or delivery options only. Ordered pizza and pasta and it included side salad and garlic knots. Minus one star for not having online menu.

Have only ordered pizza by the slice before but very good and very hot. No where to eat inside or out. Take out only but good pizza and good prices.

One of the best NY Pizza places I’ve found here yet!

This pizza place is OK. The prices are a bit too high, but the food’s not bad. The sauce is a little bit too contrivedwith too much in the way of seasonings. More is not always better.

We have been coming to the Disney resort near the pizzeria for many years and have made sure to keep it on our list of favorites. This year, unfortunately, we have decided to no longer return to Orchid because of an unpleasant customer-​service experience. We ordered an extra-​large pepperoni pizza and a hot sub for take-​out and were told that the order would take about 25 minutes. We walked over at the 25-​minute mark and were then informed that it would take 10 more minutes because they burnt the original pizza. We then waited the 10 minutes, irritated but not completely dismayed, only to find that the second pizza was not our order. We had ordered a pepperoni pizza and were given a cheese. When I informed them of the mistake, they showed me the ticket and said, «well it was ordered as cheese.» After repeating the fact that I had ordered in fact a pepperoni, the woman who took the order then approached the situation only to disregard me completely by saying, «well I heard cheese» and proceeded to walk off. When we told them that we would not be returning because of the disappointing customer service, the woman responded with «okay, whatever.» The severe lack of accommodation was shocking and the rudeness on the part of the employees was completely uncalled for and inappropriate. (And to top it off, the hot sub was burned black on either end, which we discovered later).

Anytime I’m at Wabasso Beach Park, I stop in and get a pie, which is often, but not as often as when I lived a block from here. This pie is more of your NY/​NJ style, which is my favorite type. If you can’t fold the slice like a taco, then it’s too much bread for my taste. This pizzeria has great pizza at reasonable prices.
All the standard toppings you find at any pizza shop. They have private parking, so if you’re not hanging at the beach, the question would be «why aren’t you», you won’t have to worry about finding a spot. It’s a local business, that’s been around for a long time and I do all I can support the local business owners wherever I travel.

The pizza was just OK. The toppings were good and the pizza had good flavor, but I didn’t like the crust. Soggy in the middle and no flavor. The price was fairly high — $ 25 for a large «The Works». I would have expected more for that price. Vic’s in Sebastian is far better.

This pizza is delicious. We are from Philly and love our pizza. USC vs UCLA and a good pizza = fun night.

This is very good pizza! There are not a lot of options on the island, so glad I chose this one. We got the White pizza with tomato, basil, garlic. We thought it was very good!

Great garlic knots, average pizza, slightly overpriced but so convenient to the Disney resort! Husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner in. The service was quick, everyone was very nice, food was ready in 20 minutes and hot and fresh! They take credit cards.

Very good carry out pizza! We had the TJ’s great toppings! Carry out only or Delivery.

Good NY style pizza. A good last day meal when visiting Disney’s Vero Beach. But they only accept cash.

Decent pizza and HUgE portions of their other dishes. Worth it if you are in the area. Also fabulous for delivery. Great for pizza if you need a quick slice by the beach.

The pizza and garlic knots are good; however, they are nothing out of the ordinary. Previous posters stated there are a few tables; there are NO tables. This is only a take out place.

Wish it was better since it is only ½ mile from us. Instead we drive 15 minutes to a variety of other options. That should say something.

I’m from Chicago, so I am kinda picky on my pizza, naturally. But, in a pinch Orchid Island came through. The pizza is New York style, not my favorite, however the flavor made up for it! Fast, hot and fresh, plus only a stones throw away from the Disney resort.

Well, my first 1-​star (hopefully first and last). But what I witnessed tonight was employee (and then customer) abuse like nothing I’ve seen. He was dressing down the cashier when I walked in (who had been there 2 weeks she told me) and then when she went to help me he began to really dig into another employee. When I quite loudly told him I’d never be back and why, then it was my turn. As I left I distinctly heard «go f&@$ yourself», and walked back in and said «sorry, what did you say??!» He said I didn’t hear anything. It was loud in the back. He couldn’t hear. I wished him good luck (yeah, with a tone…).
The pizza? Yeah, it was good. Super good actually. But you can’t treat your people like that. Ever. 1-​star and I’m sticking to it.

Good pizza is hard to come by in Florida, especially for someone like me who grew up in the northeast with the best pizza outside of Naples, Italy. I have to say that this was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had in Florida. The only drawback was how much it cost. A medium (14-​inch) pepperoni pizza, an order of garlic knots and a can of diet coke came to $ 22. Wow! It was good though.
The crust was nice and thin and had a good crunch to it. The cheese was delicious and the sauce was perfect. Next time I’m here, I may consider just ordering a slice to save a few bucks.

If you are staying at Disney’s Vero Beach resort, this is the place for you. While the pizza is NY style, it is not the same as NY. i have had much better, and much worse.
The location is less than a half mile walking distance, and I would suggest you pick up your own pizza, as delivery can take up to 1 hour. They do take credit cards and are pretty friendly. The actually location is tiny, I think maybe 3 tables total. I assume most of the business is take out. All in all decent and convenient.
