Skylark is known to have amazing food and amazing prices, as well. I am one of those people who believe that. I always get the speidie sub with curly fries. Simply delicious. I can never pass up some skylark.

One of the cheapest and best places in town for a great omelet! The service is always excellent for breakfast, never have to ask for a refill on your coffee.

Skylark is a favorite homey spot. Reminds me of diners in NYC where I grew up — always open, breakfast always served. Friendly staff, amazing prices and everything I’ve ever gotten has been great — omelettes, Sky melt burger, sandwiches and specials. Don’t miss the desserts!

I really wanted to love the place after reading all the good reviews. The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was great. But the most important thing, the food was terrible. Everything we tried, pancakes, waffles, and eggs were all so bland and had no flavors. Even the«maple syrup» was so bad. The scrambled egg I ordered was like a sad omelet. They must use the cheapest ingredients ever from Walmart. Seriously anything you make at home tastes 100 times better than this place. Do not waste your money and time.

This is definitely a popular place for students and seniors alike. Service is seat yourself. Waitressing and food ordering went expeditiously. We went for lunch on a busy Sunday and the food arrived quickly At our table we ordered the bacon double cheeseburger and the Philly cheese steak both were adequate in presentation and portion size. By the way I happen to enjoy a normal portion sizes and do not appreciate when portion sizes are excessive. As said in an earlier review the fries are extremely good very good crispy coating on the outside. Price is right.

We ended up at the Skylark Diner because we were meeting our boy, as he traveled back South. It’s an old school diner with good comfort food. I had french toast, bacon and hash browns. French toast was good and they gave me almost too much bacon. Not that I’m complaining. The hash brown was a pre-made patty, like from McDonald’s. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t the quality of the rest of the food. The highlight of the meal was our waitress. I didn’t catch her name but she was great! She made our experience the four star rating, otherwise it would be a three.

Skylark Diner is a legend in the Vestal area. With some of the best steak n’ eggs you can find at a diner and big fat pancakes, there’s no place like home — yes, Skylark is home. It’s a go-to place for your breakfast needs, day or night!

Skylark is a great diner located just off the highway in Vestal. Service is consistent and friendly, and the food is good. There is a decent selection of typical diner food(sandwiches, fried foods, etc.), and I like that they serve breakfast all day. My favorite is the French toast. Definitely worth a stop if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat.

On a recent drive through NYS I stopped here for a bite. It’s just off rt 17, so easy from that view. Lots of parking. It’s a very«old style» diner. Booths have Formica I think. Cushions from decades ago and that funny green color from who knows when. Service is super friendly. Food was fine. A-OK fits it perfectly. Prices are more than reasonable. I will say, its a busy place, lots of families, college students and everything in between. I like to see that.

I get the same thing every time I come; Gyro with fries! I love the fresh veggies and they cook the best fries in all of Binghamton. You cannot beat the awesome, retro feel and the staff is friendly and quick to make sure you are well cared for.

The Skylark Diner in Vestal is a very cosy and friendly diner in the area, the staff is always nice, the food is good, but could’ve been better, but over all it is a very great restaurant compared to some other restaurants in the area also keeping in mind that there are a lot of chain restaurants in the area and it is nice to have a friendly local diner near by open 24⁄7.

Totally solid old school diner. Classic fare, reasonable prices, lovely waitress and prompt service. Love the retro style of the building and décor. 2 words: homemade pie. Worth the stop on a long drive across state when the last thing you want is chain restaurant food.

a classic diner that’s been around since the golden era of diners. some of the food here is really good, and some of it’s mediocre. there are other diners in the area that put out food that’s just as good, if not better than the skylark, but they don’t have the nostalgia this place has of when you would come here late night in your late teens and early 20’s. i’ll start with the breakfast food. DON’T GETTHEHOMEFRIES! i love home fries but this place does not do them well, which is very odd because they are a classic diner staple. they are very dry and not seasoned. i used to love the pancakes here but the last time i went they weren’t as good as i remember, but the bacon here is good, as is the french toast. the scrambled eggs were just ok, i’ve had better. as for the lunch/dinner food, i love their fries. and their bacon cheeseburger is very good too, it’s almost like an upscale version of Wendy’s junior bacon cheeseburger. i haven’t had their buffalo chicken tenders in years, but i remember them being pretty good. the roasted chicken dinner is just ok. the gravy didn’t have much flavor and the texture made me think that it came out of a can or jar. the stuffing that came with it wasn’t anything special and i didn’t care for the mashed potatoes. as for their desserts, i’ve only had their cherry pie and the lemon meringue, both of which are pretty good, but i think the cherry was better all in all, if you’re looking for a slightly above average meal for a good price in a classic diner setting, this is your place to go. i will go here if i’m in vestal and in the mood for breakfast, but if i’m in binghamton and craving some pancakes then i’ll just stick with Danny’s or Rolandos.

I have been coming to the Skylark for as long as I can remember… at least 24 years. What I personally love is that nothing has really changed. Sure the menu looks different, and there are new advertisers, but it’s a throwback to my childhood and there is no star rating for that feeling. It’s your typical diner fare, but I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. I’m a french fry fiend so I’m happy to say they have curly fries.(fave) They’re also open 24 hours everyday except Sundays, when they close at 8. The portions are generous and your bill will be light. What’s better than that?
