What’s not to like? Folksy, historic and good food. Try the slopper. A burger and fries all covered in green chili. Lovely place. Next time we’re in Victor, we’ll stop in again.

Great breakfast, great owners! Sat next to wood burning stove with some fantastic coffee. Nice feel in this place.

We were in Victor one Saturday morning at 8am sightseeing and waiting for a bakery to open up so we could grab a pastry to tide us over until we could find real food. We literally followed our noses to the Fortune Club when we got a whiff of green chili. We showed up at the door and Sue was so hospitable and welcoming. Little did we know that we’d found a literal gold mine – breakfast buffet for $ 8.50! All home-cooked. The pancakes, biscuits n gravy, eggs, bacon and, most importantly, green chili were to die for. Every time we head back to that area we will make a point to eat there! I felt like a regular because of the warm greetings I received from everyone. And you simply can’t beat the price!

As good as it gets, when you’re looking for a relaxing mountain atmosphere diner with simple fare and friendly service. This is NOT fast food and it’s not urban. If a standard cup of coffee or home-brewed iced tea is too pedestrian for your tastes, steer clear. You’ll just frustrate yourself and everyone who came to chat with Sue, the proprietor and homemade cherry pie wizard, who works the kitchen. Good green chili, on either the burger or chimichanga; the real stars here are the malts and pies. Don’t miss the tintype ceiling and walls from 1899 or all the historic photographs, some atop a great marble bar. There’s also a five pedal Wing and Son antique piano tucked near the door. Great small town vibe, sweet people, good food.

Neat place. Great old fashioned cheeseburger– small, but tasty and they butter grill the bun!

My wife and I had a very tasty early lunch here on a Saturday while driving the Gold Belt route, having stayed the night in Cripple Creek. The exceptionally friendly owner explained the large photo prints on the wall in a bit more detail than the printed cards on the table provided, told us about a couple of «can’t miss» spots on our drive, and chatted away in a friendly manner while putting on the chili for the afternoon. My wife and I both had the Slopper — a big burger served open-faced with mild green chili and a cheese blend. Yummy stuff. The lunch menu consisted of pretty standard mountain food — burgers, ham and cheese sandwiches, chicken breast, etc. Nothing fancy, just good old American fare, prepared with care and attention. The breakfast menu had a bit more variety, but we were a few minutes late for it. This diner has a very old-fashioned feel to it — the soda-fountain counter and Sunbeam shake blenders remain from the 50s, the decorative tin ceiling remains from the turn of the century, and the heat is provided by a log-burning pot belly stove. A great throwback to days gone by. If the winds blow me to Victor again, I will happily return and glean some more local knowledge from the smiling and happy proprietor of this little corner restaurant.
