Wonderful breakfast. My husband had a yummy omelette and I had the three poached eggs, toast and fresh fruit. Good coffee and good service. No problem with waiting for them to cook it fresh. We ate on the patio on a beautiful morning. Definitely worth a trip.

We were on our way to Jackson hole and stopped here on a recommendation from Johnny at the RV park in Victor. We enjoyed our breakfast so much that we came back for dinner. Ed, our waiter was awesome, he brought our dog a bowl of water and showed us the dinner menu while we were waiting for our food which made us want to come back. As mentioned, the food is made from scratch. Breakfast for me was an omelet on a bed of lightly sautéed spinach which was light and fluffy and excellent. My husband had the Teton scramble with chorizo… the hash browns were so perfectly crisp and browned, just like we love them. Dinner was a pleasant surprise when we heard the special was a filet mignon with mushrooms in Marsala and cheddar mashed potatoes. It exceeded my hubbies expectations and he let me sneak bites of all and it was incredible. I had the pierogies on spinach with sautéed zucchini. AWESOME! We’d come back in a heartbeat — gourmet cuisine with delightful ambience.

Their breakfast burrito was the best I’ve ever had in my life, and I am a connoisseur of breakfast burritos. Get it with chorizo and jalapeño.

I had the best omelette I have had in a long time… Quite and cozy. While the waitressed appeared distressed she still did a good job. This will be a regular for breakfast

Don’t be in a hurry if you are going to eat here. Everything literally is made from scratch and is tasty. However, there were only 5 tables including the only table that would accommodate our party of 6. It is a very intimate setting. Our waitress was a little snooty and dry, but the chef was amazing. I had the chicken gyro with a side of Mac n cheese, and my husband had the traditional gyro. Our family members ordered the lamb burger, veggie burgers, and pulled pork sandwich. They all enjoyed their food. It is worth checking out, but seriously don’t be in a hurry!

I think I just had the best sandwich I’ve ever had! I decided on a whim to pull over to this small but comfortable place. Great service and friendly locals!

Sunday morning breakfast. Open kitchen and I’m still grossed out by what I watched the entire 85 minutes it took to finally get some coffee, finally order, finally get our food, and then stand at the register to WAIT for our ticket. Owner is a micro manager so she was waiting on tables as she had time, writing tkts, printing up tkts, telling staff what to do, handling money/credit cards, and all the while handling food. Never did I see her wash her hands or use hand sanitizer. Handling all the breads and toasting/buttering them was enough for me but she did all the garnishing. The sour cream, fruit slices, and grated cheese never went to refrigeration. When she scratched her head and then stuck her money/credit card/pens hand into the fresh spinach I had to add my review to Unilocal. I delayed posting until this evening to see if in a less grossed out state I would change the review. Nope. I’ve been thinking all day about all the germs she spreads all over her café. Yeah, she needs a back kitchen! lol And it peeves me when I only get one slice of bread with my eggs and ONLY strawberry jam. The jam was in an open container and I couldn’t even touch it.

Scratch has a lot of potential, but falls very short when it comes to the service. The place is small and has a great view of the backside of the Tetons. We stopped in on a fairly busy morning, were seated immediately on the patio, ordered some coffee and then the waiting started. It took a solid 10 – 15 minutes to get coffee, and then we waited for a waitress to come by and take our order. The owner(I suppose) told us she would be right by. That took another 10 – 15 minutes. My question is: why couldn’t the owner grab a pen and paper and take our order and drop it off at the chef? It would have taken 30 seconds. My girlfriend and I both ordered the eggs, bacon(they were out of sausage), and hash browns. The eggs were some of the best I have ever eaten. The hash browns were good, crispy, but could have used a bit more salt. The bacon, although local, was not very good. It didn’t taste fresh. Then we waited for the check and that was more waiting. Then I went inside, realized how small the restaurant was, and got very annoyed. Even with one waitress and one guy delivering drinks, it is baffling how slow the service was. All in all, we were there for just over an hour, just for some eggs and bacon. In the end, the service was polite, but slow and needs work. The food was good, and the view was great. Go and enjoy, but be prepared to wait.

Stopped in for breakfast. When I saw the pancakes come by, I regretted my order of the egg, bacon, cheddar and hash brown sandwich, until it came. This place is the best breakfast in the Teton valley. Not a lot of room inside for large groups, but don’t miss it!

Have been wanting to try this place and so glad we finally did! Excellent — all fresh and wonderfully prepared. my husband had the burger(cooked perfectly, great handcut fries) and I had pierogi with wonderful sautéed vegetables. Will return!

I have attempted to eat here six times now. Successfully eaten only one time. That one time, the(breakfast) food was OK. It took a while to get it, and all of us at the table agreed that it was pretty bland. The other times: 2x Randomly closed even though it says it’s open. 1x I was asked to leave(unknown reason, walked in and told they just closed, even though the sign was up and they were serving other people and it was mid day). 2x actually seated, then never served(not even water), for over 10 minutes and I left. The time I actually made it to the seating, I watched them in the kitchen. The whole area is open so you can see right in. It wasn’t dirty, but not clean. All three people were interchangeably handling foods without gloves, this included the server who was also handling money. I’m a fan of local business, but this place needs some serious help. If it matters, I have been told by others that IF you can get food service, it can be quite good.

Best breakfast in ALL of the Teton Valley. Hands down! Hard to decide what to choose but whatever you do, order the cheese hash browns. Super crispy.

Not biker friendly or large group friendly. Very disappointing. We came in on august 10 at 10:30 am — party of 7 and we’re refused service — too large of a group and they were too busy. They can’t handle large parties. They do have tables that seat 6. And the place was empty! We watched a large party leave right before we arrived so they do sometimes serve large groups — just not us. Maybe it was because we rode in on our Harley’s and biker gear as opposed to the other large group who looked like rafters or hikers. Even when I’m in my car or on my own I won’t be back!

Plz look for open sign next to road. Dont bother calling n ask for time or day. They will open, when they feel like it and not h**h. YES. FOODMADEFROMSCRATCH and good. But not outstanding good good. I was In scratch more than 20 times within 4 years. I have to wish my luck to drive there for restaurant to open because my wife like their good food. For me, not only food but also I look for service and price and ambiance. Food is really good. When u looking for good food in population 1900 town. Service = i always wish that they in happy mode. One time with my parents driving back from idaho fall id to eat here. I called n they said open. I got here 30 mins before closing time and they have open table. But they refuse to serve us. I am in food business, so I did try understand like what ever reasons it is and 4 stars. Price = ok. Everytime i paid cash. Not sure for card. Also they have local draft beer. Ambiance = casual, open kitchen, u can see the way they cooking and can learn. Best time to eat at this restaurant is week day afternoon n evening before 5pm. But I am not guarantee that they open every day. Doesn’t matter summer or winter. Another alternative is spoon or drive another 10 miles to driggs(forage, bangkok kitchen). They do have patio dining in summer with nice view. Again. They might let you sit or not is depends on them. Good luck & god bless.

SERVICESUCKS!!! The lady serving us has zero personality and is very slow. The front desk lady where we’re staying raved about the food and it was good enough but the service overshadows the experience. Very, very limited menu with no substitutions. Absolutely no lunch before noon. That sucked for me who didn’t want breakfast. I will definitely let the front desk lady know not to recommend this place to other guests.

Don’t come here if you are on any kind of timeframe. The waitress seemed to hate us the second we walked in the door. There were three open tables when we arrived, however we were told to wait outside. Overall poor performance all around. Seems to be a trend item here according to the locals. We were blatantly ignored for the first forty five minutes. Don’t plan on refills; assuming you get the drinks to begin with. I feel the only thing keeping this place afloat is the ignorance of tourists such as ourselves.

Visited Idaho last week and the owner of the cabin that we rented recommended Scratch. We are so glad that we decided to try it because everything was delicious! We had caprese and poutin for our appetizers and both were amazing. My dad had never had poutin and really didn’t want to order it because he didn’t think that gravy on fries sounded good. We talked him into it and he was so glad that we did. They were perfect and had the most amazing cheese curds on top! All of our meals were great too, with our favorites being the pesto, the BBQ pork sandwich, and the veggie burger. As if the appetizers and meals weren’t enough, we topped it off with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and the most delicious and creamy vanilla ice cream that any of us have ever tasted. Service was pretty quick considering everything was so fresh and made to order! If we’re ever back in town we will definitely head to Scratch!

A friend raved about the breakfasts here so we were excited to try it out. We grabbed some seats on their deck and a very harried looking server told us that they were understaffed and things would be slow. We appreciated the heads up, we weren’t in a hurry so decided to stick things out knowing service would be slow. So the two stars is for the food. I ordered an omelet and asked for 2 eggs instead of the 3 it came with. Apparently the order got written down incorrectly as my friend ended up with the 2 egg omelet and at 6 feet tall he needs more food than me. The omelet was blah and my husband’s grand teton breakfast wasn’t any better. The only one in our group that seemed stoked with their breakfast was our friend who ordered the breakfast burrito. The thing was massive. I love supporting small, local places but just wasn’t wowed by their food.
