Cupcakes!

We called there and reserved 4 chocolate cupcakes, and the lady said they only had 3 left so we thought either they were really popular, or the person baking them was lazy. So we go there (and I have to say excellent customer service) and we get our cupcakes. While we’re waiting we start talking with the people that work there and they were really kind! After we left we tried the cupcakes and we really loved them, my mom went back in the shop to thank the lady’s for the delicious cupcakes!!!

I special ordered a dozen for an office birthday party and they were gorgeously decorated, cakes were moist and fresh and the icing was not over powerfully sweet. The Dolce de Leche and Lemon Raspberry flavors were my favorite. Highly recommend them for special events, or walking in to enjoy a treat with the kids. The store in Vienna is brightly decorated with lounge chairs and a café seating area. They did not disappoint and were priced far more reasonably than other places I called around.

My family and I enjoyed a dozen of these delicious cupcakes recently. My personal favorite was the chocolate and peanut butter but there were all fantastic — rich. Moist, with delicious creamy, not overly sweet frosting. They are truly the best cupcakes I have ever had!

We ordered a dozen cupcakes, 6 Red Velvet and 6 Oreo cupcakes to bring to my daughter’a class. They were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this place.
And they deliver which would be great for office parties in Tysons, Reston, or Fairfax!

While on my way back to work this morning, I thought it would be nice to pick up some treats for my team. This place was on my way back so I thought I’d stop in and I’m really glad that I did! I bought two dozen. Red Velvet, Chocolate, Pumpkin, and Oreo. EVERYONE raved about the cupcakes and I’m pretty sure we’ll be ordering again in the near future. FYI, my personal favorite were the Oreo cupcakes.

It was my first time visiting Cupcakes ! Last Saturday, what a busy and cute shop.
I tried of course red velvet very
delicious and moist cake with just the right amount of cream cheese icing and Dolce de leche with caramel icing.
Friendly service, a place I will definitely come back to. :)

I went to get cupcakes using a Groupon. I didn’t notice until I got to the store that you need 24 hours notice for a dozen ore more cupcakes. Since I was already there, I thought I’d take a chance. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted, even though the store had already closed (holiday hours … not noted on their website)! I explained what I needed and was allowed to use my Groupon even though I didn’t give them 24 hours notice. I needed 18 cupcakes for a family gathering and got an assortment. The cupcakes were devoured within minutes. Delicious! I’ll definitely go back!

This place is cute! Wish I’d enjoyed my cupcake more, though.
Had chocolate with chocolate frosting. I’ll just say that the color of both looked like rich chocolate … but the flavor didn’t taste like it. Frosting is so much a matter of personal taste, of course, but this was just not chocolatey tasting. The ‘crumb’ of the cupcake was very nice: moist and perfectly dense but again, just not very chocolatey tasting.
The cupcakes are a little more than $ 3 but fairly small.

Nice little and sweet place. The owner is very friendly. The cupcakes are tasty, a little expensive though.
The good thing is they don’t bake a lot, the baker baked them somewhere else (I guess).

We used a groupon to get six cupcakes to go. I absolutely loved my lemon raspberry and dulce de leche cupcakes! So moist and and frosting is perfect! My husband doesn’t like sweets nor anything chocolate, but likes desserts occasionally (depending on what it is) — opted for the red velvet and vanilla vanilla cupcakes — he is now a huge fan of these cupcakes! The service was great, the lady at the counter was welcoming and made helpful suggestions about the rest of sweets that were available. We will definitely be back, can’t wait to get more cupcakes!

Delicious! I bought 24 for my office, they were gone in minutes, and everyone wants more. Personal favorite is the red velvet, but the chocolate was good too. Actually everything was good.

Prompt and friendly service, got in and out with chocolate and red velvet cupcakes in tow. I guess it’s a good thing that you get a work out getting into and out of this place? My cupcakes were moist, topped with perfectly balanced icing. The chocolate cupcake did not make it down the stairs. I was wary of some reviews but I had to get my cupcake fix and this place was cute, the cupcakes were great!

Awesome place. Great cupcakes that are fresh (hence why they aren’t stored in a refrigerated container, which would dry them out) and made in small batches on site.
Flavors are simple and they don’t try to outdo themselves by inventing new faddish ones.
If you are looking for mass-​produced refrigerated processed cupcakes go to the mall. Otherwise, it is worth the flight of stairs to go here.
Also staff is awesome and very friendly.

I was having an Auntie Day with my nieces and nephew and we found this shop nearby… we walked up the stairs to a cute cupcake Heaven! They were so excited! The cupcakes are displayed just how I would set them up in my own cupcake shop… under cute domed cake plates. Just a few of each flavor. They each ogled them and were so excited to make their own choices. We got a quaint little pink box for our cupcake foursome.
They got mint chocolate chip and vanilla and I got a carrot cupcake. Even though I love to bake and in fact am The Cupcake Mommy, I have to admit I find more joy creating decadent desserts than I do indulging. My carrot cupcake was just perfect. I was so happy to get on the treadmill the next morning as it was totally worth it. The spice blend was great and my cream cheese icing was not too sweet at all.
I am docking one star because we did not try their other treats. I also think they could have more desserts onsite if they did away with the jewelry and other inedible items to focus more on the actual cupcake experience.
All in all, when in the area again with my little people, we will be sure to stop by.

This quiet little cupcakery’s cupcakes are JUST right! Not too big, not too small. Perfectly moist, with just enough icing and not too sweet.
They’re right beside our Veterinarian, so I’ll be stopping in the next time we have to make a trip out there.

This is a tiny hidden gem tucked upstairs in a shopping center in Vienna. I’ve bought cupcakes from them a few times now and I’ve always been pleased. Yesterday, my husband and I got two pumpkin cupcakes and they were great. The base of the cupcake was moist, but not too moist — the cupcake didn’t fall apart when you ate it. The icing featured on this cupcake was cream cheese — it wasn’t too sweet and had a nice texture. I’ve had other flavors too — I remember lemon raspberry being particularly delicious back in the summer.
It’s a cute little shop, too, with couches and tables if you want to consume your cupcake on-​premise. Since the last time I’ve been, though, the shop has gotten a bit more… crowded — seems that the owners (or someone affiliated with the shop) has started a jewelery line and there were a few tables featuring jewelery. Seemed a bit strange, and again made this small shop feel smaller, but I won’t detract a star since I like the cupakes a lot, which is my primary reason for visiting this shop. I definitely agree with other reviewers that they are better than both Cupcakes Actually and CakeLove.

Big mistake!
The first thing that made me wary was how the cupcakes are stored at room temperature on the counter, instead of inside a cold display thingy. Still, I ordered a strawberry cupcake. It looked nice enough, and was reasonably priced at ~$ 3.
I so regret my purchase! The cake had an oily consistency, like they tried to achieve a moist cake and failed. The cake also ended on a sour note after eaten — very strange. The strawberry flavor didn’t taste natural. The worst part was the buttercream frosting: it tasted off, like maybe its ingredients had started going bad.
The shop’s décor is beautiful; crisp, clean, cupcakey. Alas, this hardly compensates for the poor-​quality cupcakes. I will not be visiting Cupcakes again.

This is such a cute little shop! The few times I’ve been in the employees have been very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. I’m glad my coworker introduced me to this joint.
Their cupcakes are very good! I’ve had the peanut butter chocolate, Boston crème, and something else, I forget which. All were good! Great cake to frosting ratio, cake was moist and the frosting was flavorful. They are a decent size, not big and not small. If I remember correctly, their prices are pretty standard for the area.
These were really good cupcakes, and while I tend to stick to just a few flavors in any cupcakery, I was a bit disappointed in the selection of flavors at this shop. There was nothing inventive about any of the flavors. This, combined with the fact that their cupcakes are really good (as opposed to great), is why I am giving Cupcakes! 4 stars and not 5.

This place had been on my radar for a while. We drive right by it on our way to the Vienna Metro station. The first time we tried to go, we were too late since they close at 7 p.m. Also, they are closed on Sundays. So… today, we stopped on our way to the Metro station.
The place is painted Pepto Bismol Pink and their boxes are the same color. It’s a small space that is clean and spare. We were greeted by a friendly clerk. Usually, when we buy cupcakes, we buy one each but today we couldn’t decide which one flavor to get. So we decided to live it up and get 4 cupcakes that were 4 different flavors.
I must say we were somewhat disappointed with the cupcakes. The cake was very moist yet dense enough that it held together well. However, we thought that they lacked strong enough flavor.
My husband had a carrot cake one and a key lime one. He thought the nuts in the carrot cake one should have chopped more finely. Both that and the key lime had very little flavor.
I had the vanilla vanilla and the lemon raspberry. The lemon raspberry had a lemon cake and raspberry frosting. Oddly enough, you could smell both flavors but barely could taste them. I even ate slowly in an effort to savor it but… still little flavor. No pleasant aftertaste after eating it either — as there should have been.
The vanilla vanilla was, to me, somewhat disconcerting. I wasn’t expecting a cream cheese frosting on it. While I think cream cheese frosting works well with red velvet and carrot cake, it didn’t work with this cupcake. Again, I could smell the vanilla but very little flavor came through when eating it.
We both agree that we were glad we did try these cupcakes. Yet we also agree that we won’t go out of our way to have them again.

Let me just have a question and answer session… with myself.
So, first thing’s first, what did you get, Chunnu B?
Oh, just my usual when I try a new cupcakery: red velvet and a carrot cake.
How was it?
Well, the red velvet cake, in regards to flavor, could have had a deeper taste. But they were right on with putting cream cheese frosting on both of these cupcakes. Man, do I hate it when ucky frosting goes on top of red velvet and carrot cake. Though, this wasn’t the best cream cheese frosting I’ve had either.
Do they bake these cupcakes on premises? Negative.
What other options did they have?
I believe they had 6 – 8 flavors out. If the word «gluttony» did not pop into my head, I probably would have gotten a coconut cupcake (cream cheese frosting) as well.
Are their cupcakes exceptional? No.
But, are they bad? No.
Are these cupcakes worth $ 3 a pop? No way.
Would I come here again? No. I can drive to Fairfax Corner and have a better bang for my buck.
