A very pricy restaurant. Ordered lobster and they just cook the way you like. Satisfied with the service.

As a premium steak house, it gave me a very high expectation, but it didn’t quite meet my high expectation, that’s the reason I only rated four stars. I love the complimentary bread and butter, so fresh, crispy, creamy and delicious. I love the salad and the mushroom side. I also love the filet, so juicy and tender, and the sauce was also fantastic. The cheesecake was just OK though. There were two things I was disappointed about. 1. The waiter was kinda cold with no smile and no greetings, and he was very busy, so I don’t think we were served well. 2. The plate for the steak was tiny and ugly, with no decoration. A good quality food should not only taste good, but look good as well, in my opinion. The place was so simple and it didn’t show us how precious, delicate it is. I would recommend to friends and go back again.

First the food: The filet: butterflied was amazing. A friend and I shared 1 filet and when you tell them you want to share it they bring you a separate hot plate with the butter and seasonings and then split it for you. love that! Potatoes au gratin: these were delicious and to die for! Now for my story and experience: I had booked a surprise birthday party and all the party rooms were taken so for our party of 20 we had to sit in a the main dining area in the back which was fine. being a party of 20 we were loud and having fun, however, the restaurant also wasn’t quiet so we weren’t outrageous. As a friend ordered a drink, the waitress said that we were«cut off» from any further alcohol orders. We were a little caught off guard as there was no «warning» or conversation about this prior to this moment. She said the manager had told her that she wasn’t allowed to serve us alcohol anymore. Again, we had never spoken to the manager(Nato) prior to this. This also wasn’t the waitresses fault as we realize she was just taking order from her manager. finally Nato decided to show face and come over to our table and to my surprise he was completely unprofessional and irrational. I expected a lot ALOT more from the manager of ruth’s chris. The wait staff was absolutely wonderful and accommodating, however the manager was very difficult and unprofessional. After a few minutes of speaking to this man he decided we could again be served alcohol. Interesting experience. It could have definitely been handled a lot differently by the manager, especially when you have a party of 20 who’s tab is probably bigger than anyone else’s there for the night.

I’m biased. I’ve been dining at this Ruth’s since it opened and it’s my preferred location for dinner/drinks with friends and/or for business related dinners. While on occasion the service is less than perfect, by and large the Ruth’s team provide excellent service and a great dining experience. Steaks: After dining at this location for several years I can only recall one instance where my steak was not cooked to perfection. Each meal has been a delight and the steaks are supreme. Still working on matching their skill at home! Until then I will continue to have my steaks here! Ambience: Bar area is great for dinner and/or spending time with friends. Service can be a little slow when it’s crowded. Seating in the back dining area is OK but without windows can seem a little suffocation so my personal preference is to dine in the bar area where Windows allow for a view to the street. Nevertheless the tables in the dining area are large and private — particularly the booths! Either way all positive. One last thought: try the sweet potato casserole! Unclear to me why this dish isn’t on the desert menu! It’s fantastic! Ruth’s can be a bit pricey but it’ll be worth the dining experience. Enjoy! PS: Oscar is the best bartender! Attentive, cordial, always positive! The staff should take tips from him!

Sat at the bar this evening. big mistake. Initially Oscar was our bartender and was wonderful — — mostly ignored afterward. The female bartender,(who we only heard had a middle name of «Princess» by her conversation with someone at the other end of the bar due to her completely ignoring us) provided little or non-existent service. Princess indeed. I’ve come to RC with my office for happy hour as a group in the bar dining room — won’t come back. No excuse(especially on a Thursday in Tysons) to be paying for over priced drinks and bar food to be pretty much ignored.

Usually, we go out to a very special(and expensive) restaurant for our anniversary dinner. As a gay couple celebrating our 30th, which used to be reckoned as 210 years before we were legal and stuff — we’re old. This year, we coordinated our Outlook schedules and found a 2 hour lunch slot. This is a great choice for lunch: quiet, non-rushed and non stressful. Even for complicated diners like me, it’s easy peasy lemon squeezy. As pleasant as Ruth’s Chris is, I would be more inclined to suggest it for work-related lunches and dinners. It’s pleasant, but not romantic. Husbear went with lobster bisque; I went with grilled shrimp without the sauce. He then had the mixed grill and I had a steakhouse salad with the smallest petit filet. Husbear was delighted with the signature sizzle of his plate, and that it stayed warm throughout his meal. We split a crème brûlée, while I sipped an espresso. The service was very Manhattan private club proper. No interruptions, a total gentleman. Very much like what we’ve seen at Cosmos Club. We’ll still do a proper evening out when we have a less harried week. This was a pleasant, agreeable«placeholder» until then.

I know we’ve seen the, «If I could leave a negative number I would» post a million times on here… So here goes 1 million and one lol. Celebrating my wife entering her third trimester, we thought that we would commemorate the beginning of 2016 with a nice dinner. We also wanted to celebrate the last time we would be able to order food without having to worry if the restaurant had a kids menu lol. A stickler for punctuality, i made sure we arrived to Ruth Chris well before our 9:15 reservation. Looking dapper in my navy suit with my beautiful wife’s dolled up on my arm, we floated into Ruth Chris on cloud 9… And landed right into an episode of the walking dead. 100s of guests clawing at the four hosts, for chance to be seated. At first I was optimistic, «these people probably don’t have a reservation» I said. «They are probably trying to find some last minute walk-in» I assured my wife. Boy was I wrong! I strolled to the counter with my «Denzel Washington in Flight» walk, leaned over the counter and said«Gaines… Jeff Gaines.» Looked back at my gave her the thumbs up… «Well get you in as soon as we can» the host rudely responded! At this point, all the charm has left. «Well it’s 9:10 and our reservation is 9:15, why are we waiting?!» My wife and I have lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and recently just moved from Brooklyn NY… So trust me when I say I have never been to a restaurant where your reservation is ignored. Infuriating? YES, but we weren’t going to let that ruin our night so we stood and waited. 10 minutes later… 20 minutes later… 40 minutes later… Ok now I’m pissed. Not only am I mad about our reservation, but my wife is obviously showing, why can’t she be offered a chair, water, slice of bread… We would have even accepted a ketchup packet at this point. The first meal and seat my wife was offered wasn’t from a Ruth Chris employee, but from very lovely elderly couple who said that their reservation was at 8:30. There was no sense of urgency at all with the staff. Waiting at the bar, I witness two bar tenders opening drinking behind the bar while customers stood waiting to be served. At this point, I’ll admit I lost it! Whatever cool I walked in with was out the door, I was pissed and I needed someone to know. Recognizing my anguish and the swears I must have uttering to myself, I was greeted by a very nice and helpful bar tender. I wish I remembered his name, but he’s a shorter, Hispanic fellow who was all or running to serve drinks and I really appreciate his effort. Finally after a looooonnnggg wait I heard an angelic voice say, «Gaines, party of 2.» I leaped to my feet and began giving high fives to the fellas who were sitting around us as if I was the first draft pick. «Keep hope alive I told them.» And we were on our way to Elysium. After 2 hours of waiting, my wife and I were seated at 11:30… I’m just going to let marinate for a second… Reservation was 9:15 but we didn’t get seated until 11:30… Now I know there might be some of you that’ll say, «well why didn’t you just go doe where else?» After 10, the only place you can sit and have dinner would have probably been McDonald’s. After that ordeal, we didn’t even enjoy our food. The most noble thing was the Caesar salad and the yam casserole. While I’m willing to give the franchise a second chance, I would NEVER come back to this location! Sorry so long lol

Went here for dinner with another couple. First our reservation was«lost». At the same time about the entire offense line of the Redskins rolled in and obviously they have priority… Decoration inside is below par. It felt more like a 1990’s low end Chinese buffet. Service was good, i can’t say anything about that. However, it took forever to get drinks. We waited almost an hour for our stakes. Stake was good but not worth the $ 60. Go to morton’s instead and you’ll have a much nicer ambience and food quality.

Had an amazing time. Food. Wine. Atmosphere. Came for a good friends birthday had a big party. After buying a couple hundred dollars in wine, appetizers, and steaks the manager, Nato, cut us off for no reason. He had no respect for our table, made us out to be second class citizens compared to the rest of the restaurant.

Wow. The customer service that is happening at this restaurant right now is beyond what I imagine as horrible customer service for a high end restaurant. 20 people for a birthday party and the manager(Nato) told us that we were cut off from ordering drinks for the«bad words» that we were using. We didn’t even get a warning for this when we are CLEARLY a big group and thus will be loud. No wine. No drinks… For a group that is here celebrating a birthday because two people«left» and won’t come back to this restaurant because our group was too loud. The manager not only spoke disrespectfully to our group and put his hands in front of our table and said he won’t talk to any of us besides one person. I am appalled by this and I will never come back to this restaurant. Additionally, I will tell all my friends and family to stay away from this restaurant due to terrible management. I am shocked by this.

Hubbie and I went to Ruth’s Chris to celebrate my birthday. It was the Monday after Thanksgiving and we got there shortly after 5 with no reservation. We were immediately greeted and seated in our seating of choice; a booth. We were greeted by our server Lorena who introduced herself. The dining experience had already begun. It took us a good 5 minutes to absorb the menu. I ordered twin lobster tails with a rib eye steak medium rare, I can not in all honesty say if the lobster were indeed twins, but they looked like they were. My spouse ordered a filet with shrimp. We opted out of appetizers. The hot bread that arrived while we were waiting for our meal took off the hunger edge. Our bounty was served and we heard our dinner coming by the loud sizzling. The steaks were cooked to perfection. We had ordered asparagus and the to die for Sweet Potato/Pecan casserole. I digress. The sweet potato casserole is delectable. If you are on weight watchers, you’d best put off a week. The calories are all worth it. Throughout our experience we were attended to. Our drinks and water was refreshed continuously. I always like it when they come by and sweep the crumbs from the bread off the table cloth. Ruth’s Chris runs like a well oiled machine. I rarely review with 5 stars, but we had a 5 Star experience. This is my go to for special occasions. Generally my husband does not get overly excited about what he eats. He proclaimed the food as «good», «Good» coming from him means«GREAT» If you want a great steak, good food and service, I would definitely say head on over to Ruth’s Chris. Your expectations will be surpassed.

Hubby and I are celebrating our 3rd year wedding anniversary, and we decided to make it extra special. This place is AWESOME, everyone is polite and professional. If you want quality steak, this is the best place to go to. Its a bit pricey but hey, trust me, its worth every penny! Look for Billy, he’ll take good care of you!

Went to Ruth Chris for the first time with my friend over a month ago. I ordered the Ruth’s classic with lobster bisque, 12oz. Rib eye medium cooked, sautéed mushrooms and raspberry cheesecake as a dessert The lobster bisque was very fulfilling, the rib eye was tender and juicy and the sautéed mushrooms was alright. However, they were way too salty. The dessert was soso. A bit disappointed with the food as a first timer.

Overall a decent place. However I would expect a better service from such a good steakhouse name. Order was wrong, twice. Manager came out and apologized and fixed it. Food is good. Drinks and cocktails are also good.

Having been coming here for 2 years. Oscar, the bartender is fabulous & offers excellent service. He is sweet & remembers what you like to eat and drink. He makes you feel like you are at home. I wanted a salad that isn’t on the menu & Oscar came through. Sit in the bar area. Came here for a lunch meeting today. Apps: Arugula with tomatoes, sliced red onions and shaved Parmesan cheese Entrée: Petit filet mignon Side dish: Sweet potato casserole Can we say yummo? Really missed eating here on a regular basis. My lunch today was good and consistent. My salad was so tasty. My petit filet mignon was cooked perfectly. I like it cooked medium with a pink center but crispy and smoky on the outside. Lots of butter is always good! If you haven’t had the sweet potato casserole, you are really missing out. This really should be categorized under the dessert section because of the pecan sweet crumble on top. This is soooo yummy! Was very satisfied with this meal.

Much better experience at this Ruth Chris. Our service was great. We were introduced by name. Mike and Jose did a great job of explaining the menu, upselling, checking up, and refilling drinks. Food was fantastic. Everything from the crusty bread to our entrees were cooked to perfection. The only downside to this location is you don’t get a view of all of Arlington, but the calamari makes up for it! !

I decided to treat my boyfriend to a nice steak dinner for his birthday this weekend. I made an online reservation, which is so easy! I love that you don’t have to call. We got there and were greeted by the two hostess right away and were taken to our table, that had Happy birthday confetti Nicky arranged across it. There’s a section online where you can make special requests and they even call to confirm and ask the birthday boy/girls name! It took about 20 minutes for our server to finally come and take our drink orders but we were also late so I assume he didn’t know we were there. After that he was very attentive and made sure everything was perfect. We started off with the calamari, it’s the best! Fried calamari in a sweet and sour sauce, so delicious! I’ve been here before and had the ceaser salad, it’s probably one of my favorites! This time I had to pass but I highly recommend it! I always get the filet and shrimp, it’s the best of both worlds. I rarely eat steak but every time I’m here I have to. They really do cook it to perfection, and in lots of butter! My boyfriend got the New York with crab cakes and asparagus on top, and he was in heaven! They offered us a complimentary dessert for the birthday boy, so we chose the cheesecake. It’s an individual cake, not a slice. It’s decadent, crispy light crust and a lovely cream on top of the fluffy cheesecake. I have never tried any other dessert because I love this one so much. Pair it with the fresh mixed berries and it’s absolute heaven! We ended our meal with a delicious cappuccino. Perfectly foamed and paired with a sugar stick to stir in! Overall they did a great job making our night special and I’ve never had a bad meal at this place. We look forward to celebrating here again!

One of my top 3 spots in the area to get a steak, I’ve been coming here for my birthday the past 6 years and most likely will continue to, the steaks are very good and the vibe is always cool, the bar/lounge area is my area of choice but I’ve also eaten in the dining area and banquet room and they never disappoint, the service matches the food perfectly The steaks come out sizzling on a plate at 500 degrees and the lobster tail with drawn butter is a must for me when I go Also Bartender Mike is awesome

I gotta say… when my family wants steak and its a special occasion… we usually end up at Ruth’s Chris. Just because its almost always done right. We came for Christmas Dinner which I was very surprised it was open to begin with but it was a great experience. Our usual location is in Crystal City but we all agreed it was partially because of the view. Service here at Tysons is just as good as Crystal City… its just a different vibe and crowd. I believe the last time I was at this location was for a meeting for work. When we arrived we did have maybe a 5 min wait while they got our table together but then we were immediately seated. They lead us into one of the glass enclosed rooms where we were surrounded by wine chillers. It was kind of a cool modern take. Although the bad thing is because everyone is enclosed in a tiny space you can here everyone’s conversation. But at least you can see what everyone else orders lol. For Christmas Dinner I decided to mix things up normally… I would not order a cocktail but it was Christmas… So I got myself a Ruby Red Greyhouse… I figured it gave me the freshness I needed before I stuffed my face for the night. Probably one of the best cocktails I’ve had in awhile. There is something about vodka and fresh juice that is just really tasty. Key thing FRESHJUICE. They were even nice enough to give me a huge slice of grapefruit. I’ve probably said this before in another review but I love the Ruth’s Classic… and the reason why is because it is prix fixed but you have a lot of options. Of course at Ruth’s Chris and any steakhouse for that matter if you want extra there is an upcharge. Now with the Ruth’s Classic I can choose a steak or seafood option and I still get my salad/soup and I get my sides and a dessert. My usual is the filet & shrimp with a Caesar salad, sides of either the sautéed green beans or mushrooms. There is something about vegetables sautéed in butter that is just simply delicious. Dessert majority of the time is chocolate item of some sort. But for a $ 4 upcharge you can. Get whatever dessert off the menu. Tonight I decided on the Ruth’s Classic with a 12 oz Ribeye… even though part of me was like why not get scallops or Chilean seabass… but I thought to myself I’m at a steakhouse. so with that I decided on the house salad and the roasted rainbow heirloom carrots. I think it was my first time ordering the ribeye… or at least that I remember. Medium perfection nicely pink got scared cause the first piece I cut looked well done. Now my steak was a little fatty compared to my usual filet but it still tasted amazing. Steak was juicy and flavorful always well seasoned. Carrots were nicely roasted you could taste the natural sweetness and it gave a nice freshness to my meal. My father got his usual the NY strip… mother got her 12 oz ribeye and my brother with his filet mignon. Everyone of course loved their steaks. For dessert… my family likes to end a cleansing note so they decided on the raspberry sorbet from haagan dazs. So we upgraded 2 of the Ruth’s Classic Desserts for $ 4.00. I decided to go ahead and try the chocolate turtle cheesecake with cranberry pecan bark. Honestly… for those that love chocolate… I think Ruth’s Chris makes pretty decadent chocolate desserts. Overall an amazing Christmas dinner and the best part no cleanup lol. But at least we know that there a Ruth’s Chris closer then Crystal City that still has impeccable service. Although my biggest gripe of the night is that the shoestring fries were soggy… which is usually the case I think at most locations. but the rest of Ruth’s Chris sides are pretty good. So with that your probably better off with the regular fries… or another side.

Came here with the boyfriend as our first meal in DC/VA. We shared the t bone steak with lobster bisque and oscar style crab cakes as our sides. We came pretty late around 10 so service was really slow, we waited a while for our servers to take our order. The food came quickly though. The steak was served on a hot sizzling plate and it was still cooking in butter when it arrived. The steak was okay, I’ve had Peter Lugers and a couple other steakhouses that could compare to Ruth’s Chris. I did regret not ordering the filet mignon after the first bite. The edges of the steak was a bit too burnt. The crabcake was really bad, I wouldn’t recommend it. i’m surprised its something they suggest here. Maryland has much better crabcake. it was too much cream. The lobster bisque was too salty and greasy for my taste. Portions are pretty big, it was more than enough food for two people and we shared it all. Not sure if it’s worth it for the quality. I wasn’t really content with the meal and it was nearly a hundred bucks? Ruth’s Chris might be overhyped. either that or I ordered the wrong kind of steak. The sad part, the steak at Texas Roadhouse actually tastes better than the T bone steak from here. On another note, the atmosphere was really nice and perfect for a date. It was very intimate and semi romantic until the tv killed the vibes with a soccer game. I was a bit let down on it since this was a steak house not a pub. Probably won’t be giving this place another shot, if you do eat here, try the filet mignon since the T bone is a let down.
