Sesen Spa

My friend and I go for facials. But you have to request Marie-​Noelle. We both go to her and I’ve been following her for about 20 years. She’s very thorough, and relaxing — there is no sales pressure to buy any of the products. And, she is just a genuinely nice person!

I have been coming to Sesen Spa for over 5 years. I was first attracted to this spa because of their sanitary practices… they use new sterilized tools (that come in sealed packets like dentists use) and disinfect each pedicure bowl for each client.
I have used every nail technician here and can recommend all of them. If you are looking for nail art, Cristina is a true artist (she even does nails for famous designers runway shows during New York Fashion Week). The nail technicians have been here for years, and they are all skilled and friendly.
The spa always greets you with a glass of infused water, and they often have little treats like fruit or cookies.
I’ve tried the signature massage too, and it was one of the best massages I’ve had. It incorporates Thai massage and Swedish techniques.
You’ll definitely want to make an appointment. They have a loyal following, and don’t rush you through a service just to get to the next client. This isn’t a walk-​in kind of place, but they still might be able to accommodate a last minute booking.

Excellent staff and facility. I was treated with care and full attention. I have been searching for a place to go for quality pedicure and manicure. I believe I have finally found it after a year long search.

I had a wonderful pedicure with Lisa yesterday! From the infused fruit water, to the aromatherapy foot soak, to the organic products that smell amazing, I’m hooked! Looking forward to going back for another visit! This will be my new place to come for a little R&R!

I had a 90-​minute Signature Massage with Amanda, and it was a heavenly and very therapeutic experience. From the moment you walk in, you feel good and are treated well. Heck, even before you walk in, you know you’re going somewhere that is peaceful and calm because of the way they have the area set up outside the door. The signature massage incorporates a warm poultice of herbs along with regular massage techniques. Amanda was an excellent therapist and tailored the massage to my particular needs. I highly recommend Sesen and Amanda!

All technicians are well qualified. Their waxing, facial, and massage estheticians are top notch!
You may want to bring your own nail polish. Their supply is limited and still in the Sesen Brand name. Occasionally they have other brands of nail polish, but not often.
Bottom Line: Infection Control is priority for me. Especially in a nail salon. Five Stars Plus in that area!

I had the most glorious 90 minute deep tissue massage from Amanda yesterday. Booking an appointment was easy and the staff are friendly. Location is in a business park but parking was plentiful (at least on a Sunday) Greeted with a cup of fresh fruit flavored water. Massage as mentioned was fantastic.

I’ve been coming to Sesen Spa for awhile for pedicures. I decided to get a full leg an Brazilian wax done and the service was awesome! Julie is truly a master esthetician, waxing pain and discomfort were almost non-​existent. Clean facilities. Julie is very nice and personable. Great experience.

Would highly recommend everyone to get waxed by Julie at this spa. I’ve been getting waxed for a long time and this by far has been the best experience. She’s fast, thorough, gentle, and great to be around. Also spa is clean and cozy with a great front desk staff! Prices are comparable but service unbeatable:)

I took my mom to this spa for her birthday. I searched online for an affordable yet great spa experience. I saw Sesen Spa was rated in Northern Virginia Magazine, and decided to make an appointment for the ‘On the Rocks’ pedicure because it was something new and different we had never tried. After approximately 10 calls back and forth, Karen graciously moved some appointments around and opened up 2 time slots for my mom and I. I was so thankful, and so excited. This is the only reason this salon would even get 1 star.
My mom and I arrived 10 minutes late to the spa due to terrible traffic (Northern VA drivers can not drive when it’s raining out). The lady at the front desk was VERY rude to me and told me they couldn’t do the pedicures I had scheduled because now there was no time (there were appointments scheduled after us). I was very disappointed and pretty offended at how I was treated.(Suggestion: tell customers ahead of time there is a late policy. I thought I was getting my nails done, not going to work.) My mom said we should leave and go somewhere else, but I told her I heard Sesen got great reviews and we should stay. After a few minutes of convincing her, I decided on the Signature Spa Pedicures for both of us.
We sat down, and I was treated very poorly by the staff member who was doing my pedicure. By treated poorly, I mean she didn’t say one word to me — including when I asked her questions. The woman doing my mom’s pedicure answered me.
I was then expecting a nice relaxing treatment for the $ 43 spa pedicure. This woman proceeded to scrub my legs raw (I still have burns and am not able to shave my legs), wrap my feet for exactly 2 minutes, and massage my legs for 4 minutes. She then painted my toenails. I could have gotten this pedicure (the scrub, wrap, and massage) at any other nail salon for half the price and enjoyed a more luxurious experience. I also noticed that the same 3 customers (including my mom and I) were in the spa when we left — not one person arrived after we did. I did not say anything about the horrible service while we were there, hoping my mom enjoyed herself. However, upon arriving home my mom complained about the customer service as well as the poor pedicure that she could have gotten elsewhere.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with this pedicure. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how awful the experience was. I am still in disbelief I spent that amount of money on the atrocious service we received. I will be sure to never enter this spa again, as well as tell my friends and family about this dreadful place.

I recently started coming to Sesen as a result of my facialist (who is also amazing) and I am officially hooked!
Yes, Sesen is a little bit more costly than a neighborhood place; however, the atmosphere and cleanliness are worth it! It is quiet, modern and clean. The team is friendly and non-​invasive. If you just want to relax or read during your pedi… do it.

My mom and I went here to get a pedicure after a trip to Europe left my feet in less than good condition (to put it gently). Initially I was a little underwhelmed by the atmosphere, but the super nice receptionist made up for it. I got the basic pedicure and sat in one of the giant chairs waiting for my manicurist.
She poured in some orange salts and started sloughing away the dead skin on my feet. I expected this to take waaaaay longer than it did, but she was done in just one minute. Let me tell you they definitely needed more than a minute of filing. She then shaped and filed my toenails and gave an awesome massage. 2 coats of paint later and I was out. They are’nt kidding when they say ‘basic’ pedicure.
Why 3 stars? A few reasons:
–just a week and a half later my toenails had already chipped and I was told it would last 4 – 6 weeks
–average job filing and shaving skin off feet (gross sorry)
My mom now goes to Organic’s and likes it waaay better

The new space is great and the parking a breeze! Massages and mani pedis are awesome as always!
