I usually don’t give 2 stars as I usually give 3 stars for average, which normally is my «starting point»! So if anything that doesn’t meet my expectation the star will get taken off. With that said, this place lost a star by not meeting the food expectation I have as well as the service. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, the flavor of it is so so, and the roll was smaller than the ones I had in several other Japanese restaurants. The service was ok at first, but then when we asked for check from a different waiter(our waiter was no where be found), this waiter asked us what we ordered! We were all like«ummm…didn’t you have the orders in the computer?» His answer was«well, I didn’t take your order, I don’t know what you ordered!» Boy oh boy! There goes a start off!

I’m never disappointed eating here. They are definitely the best sushi/Japanese option in the Tyson’s Corner area. The food is clean and service is fast. Also, the owner is always very nice and checks up on individual customers personally, which goes a long way for keeping customers. Every time I’ve come whether getting sushi, a bento box, or recently trying their newest addition to the menu, white miso ramen, it satisfies my stomach. I also recommend their fried ice cream if you still have a sweet tooth after all the food! Prices are fair during lunch and go up slightly during dinner time, but they have happy from 4 – 7 where some of the appetizers are only $ 3!

I ordered two lunch entrees from here today: teriyaki beef and tonkasu, both not authentic Japanese food. What worries me is the beef they use to make teriyaki beef is fat beef brisket instead of steak. The meat quality disgusts me, which might be very bad for your health.

Had the dragon and spicy tuna. Wasn’t the freshest. 3⁄5 is a perfect rating for the food. You can get better for cheaper if you venture out but if you’re in a pinch in tysons corner area it’s your best bet. If you go to the vienna area, there’s a plethora of more options. The parking is a tad annoying during lunch hours in the shopping center, but not a fault of the restaurants. Food was okay and prices were a little high. People were friendly and spacious area.

This place deserves more credits than it gets. I must say that their service is absolutely impeccable. The bento boxes are highly recommended.

This place was just«okay». I took off a star for the delivery guy, who essentially yelled«Come get your food!» When I answered the phone, and who pushed back when I asked him to use the callbox so I could buzz him in. Another star down for the spicy tuna roll. The flavor was bland, the insides essentially liquid orange goo, but the rice was fine. A third star off for the tiny pieces of sushi/underwhelming flavor of everything but the salmon. The miso soup was good, as was the rice, and it was all at a good temperature.

This place has great sushi and very nice wait staff! The menu prices were all pretty reasonable, too. We enjoyed two appetizers and two plates of sushi for about $ 40– we will be back! Great restaurant find.

I order from Shori Sushi 1 – 2 times per month. Their sushi is very good, and they have a good range of options. However, the sushi can be a little on the expensive side. The restaurant itself is very nice — the walls are all windows, and it has high ceilings; it looks pretty impressive. However, their service is very slow. I’ve never been in the restaurant when more than 6 tables were dining, yet for some reason it takes the staff and/or kitchen a while to take your order, prepare it, and bring it to you. They may still be in their soft opening, so hopefully this issue will resolve itself. Because the restaurant is always empty(I’ve only ever gone around dinner time), it’s easy to get a table, although parking can suck. I order from Shori’s website for take-out a lot, which is usually fine; but sometimes when I get there to pick it up, my order still isn’t ready. Again, for some reason, their operation can be pretty slow. One thing I do love: sometimes they will write on the take-out boxes which type of roll(s) is inside each box, which I think is so helpful and smart. I hope that they continue to work on their turn-around time, so that it will be a more efficient dining experience. But overall, Shori is a good option(and, frankly, pretty much the only sushi option nearby, besides Kizuna(which is very good and which I also recommend)).

Just moved to the Tysons area, and was anxious to try a new sushi delivery place. Glad I found Shori Sushi! The food was pretty good and delivery was quick(actually arrived earlier than scheduled). It’s not my ultimate favorite in the area, but they are the ones that deliver so I will definitely order in again from them!

I just tried this, having it delivered to my office on a Saturday. I can say the food, in particular, the fried squid legs, are tasty in spite of them arriving late and the breading being mushy because they sat for so long before being delivered. The ramen was not bad, has the potential to be better, again this might be because it took so long to deliver. Overall I am dissatisfied that it took 80 minutes for food to be delivered during a non-rush time, especially given that the location is only a mile from my destination. This is a huge fail and had a negative impact on what might have been really excellent food(again in spite of the mushy breading the fried legs were still freaking good). Until they fix the delivery issue my rating will stand at a 2 for service(food is a 3 cause of the poor quality in which it arrived, though has the potential to be much much higher). You guys need to fix your delivery issues and fast.

No place is perfect but this place gets 4.5 stars from me. I was here for a business dinner, total party of six healthcare professionals. It’s close enough to our hotel that we walked over(note: not many sidewalks around here.) The food was great; freshly prepared and well presented. The ingredients were very fresh. I had a sushi/sashimi combo that was very good. Portions are average for a good sushi restaurant. The service was friendly and attentive and our food came in good time. There were no mistakes with our orders. They have a full bar and a nice sake selection so there’s something for everyone. I’d definitely go back.

Absolutely fantastic! Was in town on training, and after the first night eating here, i refused to go anywhere else! The servers and chefs were always amazing, service was always fantastic. The food is great, and very well priced. Their sushi was awesome, prepared very quickly, and the fish quality was superb. Their ramens are all fantastic, and the Nabeyaki Udon is my favorite out of anywhere ive had it. Thank you for the fantastic service everyone! I will definitely return next time im out!

I had delivery from here today. I got a box 2. They didn’t give me rice or tempura sauce. I called them to let them know and she told me we checked 4 times and it’s there. We normally order pretty big orders from this place weekly. The lady told me that it’s not her problem. With that attitude I’m no longer gonna bring business there because I got treated like a number. On top of all that my food is cold… I wish I could give a 0 star. Don’t go to these rude people

Came back for some more delicious sushi. They have introduced a Happy hour from 4 – 7 that is definitely worth checking out. We also got a taste of the green tea ice cream– it was a great treat.

Came here after a recommendation from a friend. Restaurant is located off Rt. 7 in the Westwood Center. Came for a late lunch on Monday so restaurant was empty. Restaurant has only been opened for 2 months so still on soft opening. Restaurant is clean and beautiful windows around. Ordered Bento box 5– miso soup was yummy. The shrimp and vegetable tempura wasn’t warm and bit in the greasy side. My husbands salmon teriyaki was over cooked and dry. The sashimi and California roll was good. I think their sushi is best. Planning to come back to try the ramen noodles. Not giving up on them yet.

All I can say is wahoo, so glad I went here. Thanks Unilocal! I happened to check out this ‘hot and new’(per Unilocal) sushi place. I was pleasantly surprised that the 2 sushi chefs, Thon and Bön, working were ones from Konami(no longer in. business per a restaurant accidental fire). I learned that the Konami owners are the same as this restaurant’s owners. I can say I am not surprised since the fish quality here is just as superb! I had their chirashi and it was the best I have had… ever. Bön selected sashimi pieces were all so delicious… excellent variety, beautiful presentation, overall awesome. Will definitely be back!

Just opened 2 mothes ago. Very nice people. The food is great. Resonable prices. MR.H. USERNAME. If you dont like the service talk to the manager. Dont post it here. These people work very hard to make the best quality sushi and will do anything if there is a mistake…

Four of us tried this sushi restaurant since it is just a short walk from the hotel where we were attending a convention. We ordered a sushi platter, a premium platter, and a shrimp shumai appetizer. It ended up being $ 40+ per person but that was a lot of sushi! I think pricing is average for a sushi place. The sushi seemed fresh and service was good, with no long wait for anything.

The food is okay. I had the Spider Roll with a side of rice, and for desert got the red bean ice cream balls. Everything tasted fine, and was comparable in price to the local offerings of the same variety. My problem with Shori Sushi is that the service is just way too slow. I was there for an hour and a half on a Thursday for lunch. I got there around 12:30PM, and didn’t get out of there until close to 2:00. I wish that I could say that the issue was a result of the massive crowd, but the sad truth of the matter is that there were only about four tables seated while I was there. The unfortunate fact of the matter is that service is just slow. This doesn’t work for patrons who are on a tight lunch schedule because they have to get back to the office. It could also explain the bleak lunch crowd. I would love to have some more offerings from Shori, but they’re going to have to pick up the pace if that’s going to happen. If this review were on the food alone, I’d happily give the place three stars. Unfortunately the service aspect really hurts the restaurant. Most people don’t have the option of an hour and a half lunch break, and Shori needs to understand and be able to accommodate this.
