Love this place !! Great selection of food, friendly workers from the cooks to the owners. Love their coconut water. Will definitely recommended to my coworkers, clients and friends.

Working in the middle of Tysons, you’d expect that I might diverge and try one of the dozens of restaurants and cafes around the area for lunch. But you’d be wrong, because the Tycon Café is *that* good of value for my money. I’ve still never had any food there that wasn’t delicious; the freshly made sandwiches and burgers are always great, and the hot self-serve section is always good and quite diverse(today they had tilapia, yesterday they had thanksgiving food). The salad bar is also pretty extensive, with sushi and tofu spread throughout the selection of your normal lettuce, cucumbers, etc. I’ve never spent more than $ 8 here other than when I have bought a drink. In fact, whenever I get food from the self-serve section(like my tilapia and steamed rice today), I only pay $ 4 or so(that section is $ 7.25/lb). Highly recommended, even for those that don’t work in the direct vicinity.

This place was pretty much my home during my three and a half tenure as a Tysons Corner working stiff. The family who owns this hot food bar is absolutely adorable — I am especially a fan of the Korean grandpa who pretty much makes the same joke every time I paid for my meal. If you come here around lunch time, be sure to keep an eye out for an extremely red faced, terse looking man who sits in the front of the dining area. I have no idea who he is but he will sit there for hours at a time and the owners of the restaurant will wait on him by hand and foot(even though it is a self-serve cafeteria). I have nicknamed him the Tycon Café Don. Even if you do not have Cafeteria-Mafia like connections, the owners will treat you very well. There are several times when I have forgotten my credit card and they have allowed me to pay you the next day. They also do office catering and their 8229 Boone Boulevard Christmas party and summer picnic is something that I looked forward to every year. Regarding the hot food bar, the menu changes daily but my favorite days were when they had barbequed pulled pork, butter chicken, or their Greek style chicken. Their gyros were pretty on point as well — they spit roasted the lamb on a giant rotating skewer just like they do at authentic Lebanese restaurants. You can’t beat that at an office cafeteria!
