I’m glad I decided to give this place a chance before reading Unilocal reviews. If I’d read the scary ones, I might’ve given it a pass. Parking was a problem. The arc around the restaurant was full, so I had to park back by the motel. I wasn’t sure that was safe but I figured the below-freezing temperatures would keep miscreants from wandering around the part of the parking lot that I couldn’t see from the restaurant. Once inside, I thought service was pretty prompt and polite. That was the case initially, although as the restaurant filled up for dinner, the server became less and less attentive as she started having other tables to work. I thought the food was pretty decent. However, my tactic is to always pick from the limited-time specials because Denny’s has a vested interest in making sure those dishes are better than average. So I had the crazy spicy skillet, which was actually not too crazy or spicy but just crazy and spicy enough to be interesting.

We have been here a couple times the past few months and I always forget about it — which is a shame because it is so close to home! The food comes out fast and hot, the servers are always attentive. For the price of what you would pay at McDonalds the food is much better and the service is great! Sitting down allows you time to relax and talk to your family instead of eating out of a sack! My son LOVES that he can always get breakfast food no matter the time of day!

Denny’s is no longer the same Denny’s I grew up with in the 60’s and 70’s. The food is acceptable, and that’s about it. I usually always end up getting breakfast items and they just aren’t as good as they once were. It used to be always larger portions, better sausage and bacon, and it just tasted better back when. The bacon seems to be paper thin now– and the sausages are smaller than a pinky finger. Seems to take forever to get meals and they are ok. Food and not much else to be crowing about. The parking lot is insane to try and get in and out of, and I hope the owners are paying attention to all of these reviews before they open their next location at Delsea/College Dr in Vineland. Denny’s used to be THE place to go for a good breakfast at reasonable prices. Hope the new one is much much better come next year.

I really enjoyed my breakfast here at Denny’s the food was just as fantastic as the menu. The server we had was definitely on point. His name was Rod he made sure we had everything we needed and he did so with a smile. We both enjoyed our food and even the coffee was great! l gave it 3 stars because even though our waiter was efficient. We had to wait a while before our food was bought to us. Maybe it’s me but l was really hungry and we were seated right away but again to receive what we ordered was quite a wait. Mind you it was a Sunday Morning which is probably one of their busiest times. Also being the weekend and all. I definitely would recommend and return if in the area. Thanks Rod for making our visit a pleasant one!

Generally speaking, I like Denny’s. It’s a breakfast joint; what’s not to like. I have been coming here for almost 20 years. .. my wife even longer. The negatives are piling up. The positives are few. Parking stinks. There’s no other way to describe it. The half-circle is too narrow. Accidents are always inches away. The help is usually quite blah, particularly the hostess/cashier. We have had decent waiters. Today our guy was friendly, but inept. After mass we discussed where to go. I like to change things up. Since we had gone to Friendly’s last time, I was up for the drive out here at my daughter’s request. My wife commented it’s a seedy area. Indeed it is. As soon as I got out of the Jeep, I was approached by a straggly guy begging for money. I truly don’t understand this approach with a cigarette dangling from one’s mouth. A pack of cigarettes is $ 6+. Most smokers smoke at least a pack a day. For that $ 6, he could have had a meal. But no, he would rather troll the parking lot on a frigid cold morning begging. So my daughter and I headed for the restaurant as my wife got the boy. I noticed our beggar had a female friend. They both headed over toward the Jeep. The configuration of the lot and where we were made it so I couldn’t see what was going on. I paused waiting for the rest of my family. My daughter was clamoring to go inside where it was warm. I wanted to see my wife and son. We waited. .. and waited. .. and waited. Finally we returned to the Jeep. I saw the beggars were further down. Apparently my son had thrown a fit and wasn’t cooperating. I was fearful the beggars had done something. I also wasn’t wild about them wandering the parking lot knowing we were just entering the restaurant. It took a minute or so to be seated, but no real long wait. Our waiter was friendly. It took forever, however, for him to make an appearance. By then we were ready to order. The drinks took entirely too long. As did the food. I have managed a few restaurants in my day. I get the Sunday morning rush, although it wasn’t busy, just steady. Service was unacceptable. Ultimately, it’s the food that determines whether I’ll return. Admittedly, I have changed the way I eat the last several months. No Grand Slams for me. No, I merely ordered three eggs over easy and an order of bacon from the Sides area of the menu. I pointed to them as I ordered. I explained I wanted no toast or hash browns. Well, after the really long wait, food was dropped off. My plate had my wife’s sausage patty. The side of bacon had but two strips. I eventually got the waiter’s attention. He explained he ordered me a Grand Slam because it was cheaper than what I ordered and it only came with two strips. Grrr. .. I guess he sensed my disappointment because two more slices were delivered. One way high-end restaurants test a chef’s skill is by requesting eggs be prepared. While cooking eggs is not particularly difficult, preparing eggs that are good looking takes skill. Breakfast joints are known for making good eggs. Yeah, not here. How friggin’ hard is it not to break the yolk? And if you do, you re-cook the damn thing! Never again. This is the same meal I had at Friendly’s last week. I noticed the prices for the sides are at least 40¢ higher per item. Nope, piss me off enough and my dollars will go elsewhere. BTW, this joint is borrowing $ 400,000 of tax dollars to re-model the inside. Unbelievable!

Less than stellar for a Denny’s. I also made the mistake one time of having my wife take me there when we were first dating. Quite an interesting place real late at night…

Management must have changed since the last time I was at Denny’s because I have eaten there several times in the past few weeks and the food and service were much improved. Food was prepared as ordered and served with a smile. The menu is still really limited, but I liked everything I had. They make an awesome breakfast skillet with eggs, mushrooms, spinach and meat. Seriously tasty. The restaurant was clean as were the bathrooms. Visted the cocktail lounge several times as well and we enjoyed ourselves. The bartender was especially cool.. There have been problems with crowd being sketchy over the years, so the bar closes early at 1 am, but I felt comfortable each time I went. So while I could still take or leave the food, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to the bar for drinks with friends.

If it’s the weekend that the government aid checks arrive for the indigent, you won’t want to be here. Most of the recipients live either next door or across the street in the two motels that act as low-income assisted housing. They and their friends come out to party as long as the cash lasts. Hi-jinx ensue, usually making the police blotter in the local news on Monday morning. Of course, if you want to score a bag or skunk weed, some crack or meth, I highly recommend the place. Be sure to pack some heat, because just about everyone else is.
