Kum & Go attached to what used to be the biggest McDonald’s in the world, I had fond memories from using the radar to check speed of passing cars as they passed under the restaurant, oh did I mention the McDonald’s is over I-44, well it is!!! Anyway part of the problem I had with this location was that the bathrooms they weren’t dirty so… Are you thinking Phil if they weren’t dirty then what the hell is your problem bro… Welp it’s the fact that they had no paper towel dispensers and had only super loud ass air blowers I couldn’t hear myself pee!!! So… The food was okay hot and it was busy but Fay at the counter handled all the chaos with a smile the other lady f’ed up my friends order so… I had to pick up the kids fries and drink!!! So… That sucks but overall quick hot and so… So… Not as good as I remember when I was a kid but still alright!!!

Newly re-opened all new and shiny. Not sure how long it will stay that way, but nice and clean now, a huge difference from what it had become the last few years. It’s McDonalds, so no need to go into the food, you know what you are getting there but the facility is now nice to go into and it provides a cool experience to watch the traffic as it goes below you. For the more health conscious there’s also a subway in the facility now.

Used to be the largest McDonalds in the U.S.A. and I’m not sure if it still holds that title, but I wasn’t impressed. The ordering counter is small and the employees seem overwhelmed. The building itself is neat and it’s fun to eat and watch the cars to underneath the tunnel but that is about it. Now that we have checked it out once, we probably won’t go back.

It’s McDonald’s. Good facility though and cool view above Interstate 44 watching the cars and trucks go West.

I stopped in at this McDonald’s expecting to go to the bathroom in a decent facility. The bathrooms were disgusting, from crap on the walls to dirty baseboards dirty doorhandles and dirty sink I would never go to the bathroom in the bathroom this disgusting. I could not even bring myself to go Pee. The bathroom reminded me of those horse stories where the bathroom looks like crap all over the walls… Not only was the bathroom disgusting but the restaurant and parking lot both were disgusting. I do not believe they own a mop here or any cleaning supplies. Stay far far away from this McDonald’s.

On a road trip from TX to KC, we decided to detour up I-44 a bit because the SO has never seen the McD’s over the highway before. Well, turns out a postcard would’ve been a better option. Fortunately for everyone involved, the store was about to close for a long, long, long overdue remodel. And hopefully they are firing everyone who works there while they are closed. I could probably write a treatise detailing one of the more unfortunately memorable McDonald’s stops of my life, but let’s just leave it at a few salient points… There were maybe 10 people in line ahead of us(4 or 5 groups of people ordering, total) and it took a solid 20 or 30 minutes before we got to the counter to order. As the two of us got to the counter, the lady working our register turned and walked off for another 5 – 10 minutes. We finally get to order, wait, literally, another 15 minutes or so for our food(and all orders are bagged to go). And the bag is just the food. And there are no little condiment stands anywhere, so if you want napkins or salt or ketchup, you have to wade back upstream through the crowd of irritated patrons waiting on their McDoubles and attempt to wave down the disgruntled cashier. And then remind her what you asked for when she only brings you half of it. And, yeah, that’s the abbreviated version. Here’s hoping the remodel is a *total* overhaul, because the place just oozes with kitsch, propped up over the interstate. But in its pre-remodel state this summer… take a picture as you’re driving by and just go in to town for your food.

Very interesting place and that’s the only reason I stopped. Yes it is old and not all the clean and when I went the lines were way to long to wait just for some fries(no drive through of course :) but the novelty was worth the stop for me. I actually ate in town at Clanton’s Café(a very good choice) and ended up later asking someone how to get to this from town(headed to Tulsa and wanted to check it out) because the gps was useless nailing it down, and of course had I stayed on the highway I could have just pulled off but I didn’t realize that until I was there … so made it from an outer road that may not be obvious but it is a turn off just before you drive over an overpass. Good news for future visitors … it appears it is going to go through a complete makeover, inside at least, although not sure that means an improvement in service.

This place really used to be something. When I was growing up it was must stop on any roadtrip along I-44. Unfortunately, I don’t think this place has had any upkeep since those childhood road trips. It is dirty and in disrepair. The service is slow and poor. On my recent trips I’ve bought drinks from the small gas station located next to the McDonalds because the quality of the McDonalds drinks and the time it takes to get them make the gas station the superior option. I feel like with some love, attention, and an influx of cash this could return to a place where a stop was at least worthwhile, if not necessary. The building itself remains striking. Unfortunately, sometimes beauty is only skin-deep.

This largest McDonalds is worth the stop if you need gas or want fast food but it is not really attraction worthy. Maybe a renovation would make this place more of an attraction and less of a McDonalds

I began Unilocaling not long ago and one of the things I decided from the get go was I would be as positive as is earthly possible. I own a small business and I know everyone has rough days. I promised myself that I would not, unless completely necessary give another business a 1 star review unless they really, REALLY deserved it… Enter the McDonald’s Glass House in Vinita, OK! As a firm rule I don’t eat McDonald’s. So, Able, why did you even stop at «The McDonald’s Glass House?» The answer is long and has more to do with Ray Wiley Hubbard than it has to do with taking«nourishment» of any kind(Choctaw Bingo, Look it up.) And the fact that I drink close to 2 gallons of water a day and The Glass House is THEONLY place to stop between Tulsa and Joplin… anyway I stopped. I rolled up on The Glass house excited… not sure why. I was greeted by the sign I posted in the Pic’s section. According to @twitter the word McDonadl’s uses 10 characters including 2 capitol letters both of which had apparently somehow fallen out… of a molded plastic sign… along with the other letter«d» this alone made me glad that I had chosen to pull off the interstate therefore avoiding actually driving under the McDonald’s Bridge. After entering the building it became apparent this was ABSOLUTELY the best course of action. The glass house is shattering! Upon entering I immediately noticed the state of disrepair of everything in the building. From the tiles on the floor, to the seats at the fiberglass-showing-thru-decades-of-wear tables the place is crumbling into the ground. Or as it were onto motorists traveling on the Will Roger’s turnpike below. Literally falling down around my shoulders, or no wait… that was some sort of bird guano… seriously. There are birds in there! I went upstairs and kept hearing birds chirping. Now, this is a big place with little tourist shops and things all over the place so my first thought was maybe someone opened an exotic bird shop in there. Seriously, that’s what it sounded like! But no, somehow birds have flown into the building and nothing has/is being done about it. I asked someone! They told me there have been birds in there as long as they can remember! There were a myriad of other things in various states of dilapidation but in the interest of this review I’ll not go into all the details. I didn’t eat anything. The only staff I talked to was the person about the bird situation. If they would have even been pleasant about it I might have considered 2 stars. They were not. I did, however, accomplish what I came in to do so I will leave the one star. In conclusion if you are driving on the Will Rogers Turnpike in the Vinita, OK area please pull off at ‘The McDonald’s Glass House’ but only for the purpose of avoiding falling debris on your vehicle. «…He was going to Dallas Texas in a semi truck called from that big McDonald’s, You know the one they built up on that great big ol’ bridge Across the Will Rogers Turnpike…» –Ray Wiley Hubbard, «Choctaw Bingo»

When I first moved to the midwest, I thought this was the coolest McDonald’s ever because it stretched over the highway. My family and I would go to Tulsa a lot so we’d always stop here. Now that I’m older and 12 years have passed, my opinions have changed. I’ll have to admit that it’s a convenient location. It’s right off of I-44, there’s a gas station, bathrooms, and a gift shop. I drive across OKlahoma a lot to go to Missouri and even though McDonald’s would be closed at night, the building would be opened all night for anyone who needs to use the bathroom which I have found to be a blessing on my overnight trips! The building is extremely old and in desperate need of renovation. It’s definitely not the cleanest facility but at least it’s there for travelers across the interstate. The service and food are decent — I’ve never had a bad customer experience. There are plenty of tables and chairs to dine in and you can watch cars drive under the restaurant.

Eh, it is cool for one a time thing. The first downside is it’s McDonalds. The second is that they are desperate for a make over. All the tables and chairs and everything are beaten the hell up. The third downside, no play place. Fourth, it was hot as hell. Service was tolerable. Food was standard. It was an interesting set up and fun to watch the eighteen wheelers drive underneath while we ate. Good to do once. Don’t have to do it again.

This place was just gross and outdated. The bathrooms were dirty, the hand dryers put out little to no heat or air, you have to go up a flight or two of stairs to even find these troll bathrooms in the first place, and everything looked very 1970 and musty. I was born in 1970, and if I’d never had a bath or update, this is what I would look like. Even for me, that’s a downgrade. ;) But, I was able to successfully use the restroom so mission accomplished– thus, 2 stars. I wouldn’t even fathom the idea of food being prepared anywhere on the premises.

This is a good place to stop and stretch when traveling long distances. The McDonalds is actually like a bridge, going over top of interstate 44. There is a McDonalds, another coffee/donut shop of some sort, a gas statation on each side of the highway, and then a gift shop inside. Seems like everytime I’m there… one of the men’s restrooms are closed… so I have to walk across to the other side. The place looks a bit outdated… but so do most people who are traveling and stop here! :o)

This place is a nightmare. It’s dirty, it’s unorganized and I’ve never witnessed so many complete idiots behind the registers. First, off, talk about over staffed. There were about 6 teenagers fumbling with receipts and drink cups off to the corner simply taking up space and getting in the way of people who may have been trying to work. They take your name with your order and then when it’s ready 5 – 10 minutes later… they whisper yell your name. I’m not sure how many times they called my name. They call from all parts of the counter. You have no idea where to go. Seriously, they took my name at McDonalds. This isn’t Starbucks. I thought my order was supposed to be ready in under a minute at McD’s. This place is gross. Fortunately for them, there isn’t much else to stop at in the area if you’ve can’t hold it any longer and you’re starving. They have no reason to clean up their act… people need to pee and eat in Oklahoma.

Stopped in to just use the bathroom. Also, have gift shops and other little stands in there.
