Just the best burger I’ve ever tasted and my carnivorous bf couldn’t agree more. The meat was so juicy and had great flavor. the fries were also great, and the lemon meringue was so delicious, I’m salivating just thinking about it. Overall the food was great, only thing is since he makes everything from scratch(including fries) it can take a while. But, i think it is worth the wait. Bob is also very friendly. He helped us find the best spots for star gazing

Not only is the food amazing(we tried both the Rasberry Chicken and the Buffalo Burgers and they were exceptional), but Bob is extremely nice and very entertaining. The store is fun to browse through while you wait for the food. Don’t pass up on this restaurant, it’s a great experience.

Ok — for food I would definitely give 5 stars. We had the burgers, our kids the grilled cheese. Your host will claim that the burgers are«world famous». And they at least should be. I was only two years in US and hence jumped onto the endeavour to find the perfect burger. This one definitively ranks in the top 3. No seasoning needed, perfect medium-rare. And the french fries qualify as number one. Hand-made and perfectly seasoned. The desserts(cheesecake and key-lime pie) were excellent. And the host is its own kind. We will never forget this evening! So why only 4 stars: Bring a LOT of time! We waited more than one hour for our food — when you have kids that can make you kind of nervous. Luckily they did great and hence made it a perfect evening. Plus when you are a couple there is a lovely store to the restaurant where you can easily spend your time. So when you are not in a hurry: GO!

If you’re on your way to Zion you must stop here! We stopped in for some jerky and were pleasantly surprised to find a restaurant, jewelry, and Native American treasures. The owner, Bob, is enthusiastic and made me love life a little more by stopping in. We had just eaten before we got there so we missed out on the world famous buffalo burger, but I saw countless entries raving about them while flipping through the guestbook. Don’t pass this place by!

Buffalo Trails Trading Company is a shop stop along the way to Zion National Park. The storefront displays attractive signs that make you want to stop there, particularly for their exotic jerky. Looks might be a bit deceiving however, as what might look like a jerky store has a small selection of jerky and a larger display of indian knick knacks and a small mom and pops restaurant. The owner Bob is quite a salesman, but friendly and tells the same jokes and spiel to each customer who walks in. He’ll bust out his book stack of reviews, most written from past years. Little did he know I am an avid Unilocaler and told me to check out his reviews online. So here I am. Having read most of his reviews online, I found them to be accurate, but particularly the bad ones that had mislead other customers. I know he needs to make a living so I wont bust his balls too much, but his spiel to me was that his jerky would be the best I ever had, and the buffalo was from Utah. While I couldn’t verify that, the packages say they are processed for small mom and pops companies in MT and IL. While good seasoning-wise, it was not the best jerky I’ve had and overpriced at $ 20 for 3 ounces. I’m a jerky collector and have had a taste of many jerkys, but I have to say that some of the best jerky that I have had was found in Utah, at a little mobile stand a mile down from Buffalo Trails Trading Company. While I really like to support local businesses, I would have rather had Bob not give me the spiel about the best jerky and buffalo jerky being raised in Utah unless he could prove it, since the packages say otherwise. After all, he seems to love proving everything else with his stacks of old handwritten reviews. Personally I would have purchased the jerky anyhow for support and as a jerky collector, spiel or not.

What a great experience here! If you are looking for a typical quiet, simple, quick, «normal» dining experience, then no, this place is not for you; however, if you are looking for some great home cooked western food and really kind and personable company, not to mention a wonderfully unique experience, then don’t miss this! Bob was super nice and accommodating. I called ahead to ask if there was outdoor seating and he said he could make some. We arrived about an hour later, and he had set up a personal patio table so that we could watch the sunset while enjoying our food. Just stunning. The store itself is super fun to walk through – and how many places let you walk around and explore with your beer in hand? My parents and I had the most relaxing and fun evening. A GREAT way to wind down after a day of hiking at Zion. We really loved talking with Bob and the kind woman who was our server(I didn’t catch her name unfortunately). If you are a people person and you enjoy meeting interesting people, this is an amazing stop. Don’t miss it!

After a long fabbbbbulous day in Zion I was told to come here for the«best burger of my life.» I had to check it out and see if it was just the delirium from being exhausted from hiking or if it really was great. We had 1 picky eater too and so this test would hopefully be more accurate! Just FYI the menu is on a white board. Very mom & pop minimal but more love/quality hopefully! Also this is not the place that looks like«disney land» but the one set back on the street with a «jerky» sign in front. I can actually say that it was the best BUFFALO burger of my life. It was juicy and tasted freaking amazing.(Playground in Santa Ana is still one of the best burgers!) They say that they raise the buffalo themselves which is always a huge plus. I love alternatives to beef. They have a different flavor and this was not gamy at all, but you can tell it is not beef. The burger came«fully dressed» on a toasted bun, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and fresh purple onion. On the plate it was opn faced. The side of fries for a few of us were too well done(fried all the way through) but the others enjoyed them this way.($ 14.50) The store itself is a bit dusty and full of native american knick knacks, dolls, art, clothing, and décor. I didn’t see anything that caught my eye, but it was a mixture of the touristy items and unique pieces. The service was great. We had a nice woman who helped us out first and made sur we had lots of water. Bob, the owner came out when she left for the day and talked to us for a while about his family and life. He also offered us fresh key lime, peanut butter, and another pie, but we were too tired and stuffed from the burger! Our picky eater friend did say it was a really really good burger. For those of you who do not want a Buffalo Burger they had Hawaiian Chicken Pasta Salad, spaghetti, and homestyle other dishes!

Please avoid this place at all cost. His buffalo jerky tastes like rubber and cost almost $ 20 for a tiny(about 8×10) piece. He would not have anything for us to sample either. Don’t listen to his sweet talk. You might fall in his trap.

This review is for Bob and his gift shop. I purchased a fake replicated Native American breast plate from his shop that he claimed was real turquoise/silver/buffalo bone that was handmade by the Sioux Indian tribe. After paying $ 125 for the piece, I later found it online for $ 35 made in China, plastic pieces and deer bone! So pissed! What a rip off. I am very upset bc the shop was recommended by word of mouth in the little town. Bob was known to have authentic items. We spent about 40 minutes listening to Bobs stories of his adopted Native American children and travels to tribes. He sucked us in and spit us out. Ughhhh thanks for the knockoff buddy!

Love Bison/Buffalo meat. Bob’s burger is the absolute BEST, juicy, tasty, fresh fresh fresh and big. His fries were awesome too as well as the salad and raspberry vinegrette dressing that is home made. He’s a nice guy, lonely I think, and likes to chat up a conversation. If you’re in a good mood, he’ll treat you awesome; if you’re in a sour mood — watch out, your burger could be a bit dry. His store is interesting to browse through — found an fantastic Italian ceramic hand painted plate that was just gorgeous and what fun !!! He likes to barter :) so I got a good price and he felt he was treated fairly. It’s a 45 minute drive for us, but we make it just to enjoy the burger. Can’t get it in St. George or towns further north, so it’s a pleasure to make the drive.

Just meeting Bob and having one of his burgers is worth the stop. Let him go through his spiel about haw he was raised on the Res and adopted by the Native Americans. He does have good prices on the Native American art and jewelry. A must stop just because…

I’ve driven by this place to and fro Zion and was curious. On the way home this time, I sent the man in to grab some jerky we normally don’t have in SoCal. He came back with venison, elk, and wild boar. The elk is from Montana and the other two are local(Springdale). We opened it up and were delightfully surprised. The elk was tender with that sweet, salty and a nice kick of heat in the end. The venison was so-so. boar was delightful. We plan on stopping in on our return trip to Zion.

I was excited to try the Buffalo Burger as some have recommended. I have never had Buffalo meat before, and this was an experience I wanted to try & taste. On our family trip to Zion & Bryce Canyon… we passed Buffalo Trails Trading Co & were set to stop for a meal after our long day. Buffalo Trails Trading Company was located in Virgin, Utah. From the get go, the place is small yet has a curious appeal to it. It was a Sunday afternoon and asides from one elderly couple who were just finishing their meal… we were the only ones in there. The owner Bob, welcomed us with open arms, but his personality was rather creepy(not to be mean) He seemed inviting but at times would make comments that were strange or straight forward… I couldn’t tell if he was just trying to be funny or he was serious…(for example… at the end of our meal, I wanted to use the restroom… he guided me the way but mentioned to my family if I don’t come back… don’t look for me) His daughter Violet was also helping out serving us… who was very polite. We got our water as well as 2 vase like containers of extra water. One of them had dirty like particles and as i looked at the container he quickly picked it up from the table and looked at it and brought us another one. Asides from that we had our individual glasses of water already filled. The water tasted weird to me… it was tap like, yet had a different taste I could not put my finger on. Drank a few sips of the water but decided that I would save my thirst for the bottled water inside our van in the parking lot after the meal. The Buffalo Burger was pretty good and came out bigger than I thought. Probably even bigger than a quarter pounder of beef. It had a beef like taste but was different. The prices were a little on the high side but what are you going to do if it is the only place close by and you are looking for a meal or an experience to try. The place has an authentic feel to it… with many artifacts, gift shops and memorabilia. However some may feel a little creepy about the place, especially in the later evening by yourself. The owner Bob seems to have good intentions and seems to enjoy having customers, especially to try his food and boasted how he took years to perfect his marinating of his food. I just recommend(as I do with all food places) not to get on the servers bad side, in fear that they may sneak something grotesque into the food… especially in a self owned mom & pop’s joint out in the middle of nowhere. All in all… I don’t know if I would go here again, but then again if I do visit Zion I might want to bring some friends just to show them what I am talking about. But it was an experience and I could now say I have eaten Buffalo Meat… and it was healthy and actually good. I would say it was alright… but good to try for an experience.

After a nice hike in Zion we were headed back to the 15 to continue our trip north when my wife saw a sing for jerky(alligator, deer and buffalo ext.) When she decided she wanted some. Since I had already passed the store and was cursing on my marry way I was reluctant to stop. Then I came to my senses and realized that a happy wife makes for a better road trip. So I flipped a U and headed back. Upon entering the store I noticed that this was more than just a jerky shack. It was much bigger than anticipated. Also there is a restaurant in side as well we found the jerky and decided on the alligator and deer. Then we met Bob he was nice in showing us around and bragged about how good his buffalo burger is. So we decide to split one. Well he has a right to brag it was a pretty good burger. Definitely glad we stopped

A fantastic, quaint little ship on the route to Zion. Bob, who is the owner, chef, busboy, waiter, and clerk, is fantastic, friendly, and gives you a lot of local tips. He kept his shop open late for us for dinner, improvised a tasty spaghetti dish for my vegetarian friend, and made two delicious buffalo burgers for the non-vegetarians. The apple cake was perfect, not too sweet like apple pie can be. It’s easy to miss this shop driving through Virgin, but if you get a chance, definitely stop here.

This gift shop/restaurant is a jewel on the route to Zion, the owner and his daughter Are So Welcoming and Friendly!!! They make you instantly feel welcomed and a part of their family. The food OMG listen to the owners recommendations, he suggested the buffalo burger(which I’ve never had before) was out of this world, it was amazing! I’ve never tried anything like ir before. They raise their own buffalos and it is so fresh and the texture felt like butter :-] If your in the area PLEASEDOYOURSELF A FAVORANDSTOPIN!!!
