I’ve been eating food from Angie’s Bakery since I was a kid. I even contemplate driving down from DC just to come to Angie’s and carbo-load.(Hint: Open up a shop in DC!) I love this place.

Went there this weekend hoping to find some siopao. But they didn’t have any :(I opted for the pepperoni bread. I was pretty disappointed. They didn’t have a big variety of goodies. My pepperoni roll was room temperature– they didn’t offer to heat it up or anything. I probably won’t be coming back unless I want some pandesal.

Not the most beautiful or fancy bakery, but it serves its purpose. PANDESAL! Come here and get the Filipino pandesal(bread). You won’t be disappointed. And in tradition, like most Filipino stores, this has a mini section of goods– random candy, canned goods, snacks, condiments, all from the Philippines of course. I also got Ham & Cheese, and Pepperoni bread. Not bad. I think as other reviewers have stated, the pandesal is definitely what makes this place. Can’t say it enough.

I’ve gone here so many times as a child up until now and I would cry without a fix of some fresh, hot pandesal here at Angie’s. I would go to most Filipino parties and I would always recognize the taste and know it’s from here. It’s grown in popularity and my relatives up in northern virginia always come down here just to bring some back up. The staff is very welcoming and always hard at work making more goods to place up front. Besides all the baked breads and pastries, they also have other foreign chips, sauces, spices, noodles, a few frozen meats, packs of pre-made lumpia, and magnolia ice cream. Although it may look pretty worn inside, the ambiance hasn’t changed ever since I was a kid and it gives me that«I’ve come back from home» feeling and it feels great! Until my next visit, I’ll be looking forward to some steamy pandesal!

Awesome establishment! Great customer service that is fast and always with a smile. LOVE their pepperoni bread and the pandesal is the best in town! Yes they do go on vacations occasionally but this is a family run business not jollibee. We all need a vacation. :)

I grew up on pandesal, pepperoni bread, ensamada, and siopao from this bakery. Even when I was a little kid, I used to hide the pepperoni bread from my sisters so I could have it all to myself. Angie’s Bakery has been around since as long as I can remember and I still enjoy their food today. The quality of their products is consistent and always delicious.

Order the pandesal and nothing else. This is what they are popular for. A dozen is less than $ 4. Great to eat when its soft and piping hot.

My family has been going to this place since I was a child and I will definitely say they have the best pandesal in town. They make it hot and fresh for you too! It’s not a fancy place or anything. It’s in a nondescript location and its on the corner so it’s kind of hard to see from the road. Youre not going to get 5 star service here or anything, just casual quick and polite service. Didn’t be fooled though. I can’t really comment on anything else but my mom always gets her Filipino pastries from them so I’d say thumbs up!

We drove here before heading back home from the beach… the place isn’t what my idea of a bakery is, but I will have to say the pandesal came hot out of the oven and the BEST I’ve ever had! The ensemada was delicious too but I think that’s margarine they used? The bibingka tasted a little dry. This place looked closed at first when we drove up, it’s on the end of a shopping center, newspaper covered the windows and luckily they had the OPEN sign lit up. Looking at the other reviews looks like they’ve been there for a while… Im hoping they’re there next time we go to VA Beach. I want more pandesal!

I absolutely LOVE this place! Ever since I can remember my family has been buying pandesal(bread rolls) from this bakery. It is always hot, fresh, fluffy and delicious every time. My other favorites include ensemada(baked pastry topped with butter and white sugar) and pepperoni bread. I don’t buy pandesal from anywhere else. I believe this is the best Filipino bakery in Hampton Roads. I highly recommend that you try it!

What can I say, I love my fix of Pandesal and oh my soo tasty Bitso!!! They take credit cards but only if your purchase is over $ 10. Anything less than that, you have to pay cash. I can tell that this place is very good because a lot of regulars comes here and mainly because of the pandesal. Biggest purchase one day that I saw was 8 dozens!!! That’s a good sign on my book.

I don’t know much about Filipino food and was brought here by my roommate who is craaazy about this place. Wow, I’m glad I did. FOOD: Although a small bakery it had a good selection which included siopao(filled with pork), empanadas, pepperoni filled rolls, gelatinous purple coconut sweet which I believe is made of ube(purple yam) as a base, sesame balls, rolls with red bean of which I bought: 1. Pan de sal — It was my first time trying pan de sal and it was like dinner yeast rolls but sooo much better. Sold by the dozen. We saw a guy buying 2 huge boxes! We got ours hot and fresh from the oven very quickly. 2. Sesame balls were a bit dense and oily. It seemed like a dense donut hole. Not my fav. 3. Red bean rolls — resembled the Korean version but the filling seemed a bit heavier and slightly different flavor… red bean with dried dates mixed in is what I would liken it to. Of course I like the Korean version better but this was also tasty. 4. Purple sweet — triangular slice of dark purple goodness for $ 1.80 with some shredded coconut on top. The consistency was like a rice cake and was chewy. PRICES: 3 small sesame rolls, 3 small red bean rolls, 1 dozen pan de sal, slice of purple sweet totaled to $ 9. Not bad! You must pay with cash if under $ 10. CONCLUSION: Yummy! The pan de sal is my favorite and second would be the purple dessert. I have not tried other Filipino bakeries before but I would definitely come here again!

My family buys delicious filipino pastries here. The pandesal [bread] is always sold warm right out of the oven. I’ve tried other filipino bakeries, but I think Angie’s pandesal is the best I’ve had in VA.
