Met up with a friend and sat in the bar. Drinks reasonably priced and great service from Liz! Cheeseburger was good and I loved the fries. Husband had fish and chips and they weren’t skimpy pieces of fish that you get as some places. It’s not a fancy place at all and id probably consider it a dive, but the service was great, food was good, and the prices weren’t high at all. Can’t really ask for much more.

Interesting how the reviews vary so much. Yes, we were also duped by the DDD allure. Place is definitely in the dive category and no, I am not fussy or critical. I had the fried oysters and have no complaints but DONOT order the fish hash. Trust me, it will not be what you expect. Totally unremarkable and bland. Basically, I see no reason to go here.

My wife and I live in Richmond. Coincidentally, we had a trip planned to VA Beach, when we saw an episode on «Diner’s, Drive-ins and Dives» that featured this restaurant. My wife(as usual) checked out the menu on line beforehand. She had decided on the crabmeat omelet(which included cheese), which was priced at $ 10.99 on the Beach Pub’s website. Upon arrival at the restaurant, my wife noticed that the price on the printed menu given to us was $ 12.99. She asked if she could substitute mushrooms for the cheese. Food arrived at the table ice cold and… we were charged $ 14.99 for the omelet. When the waitress was asked, she said it was«considered an additional charge»…for the equivalent of three mushrooms that were delivered as part of a meal that was ice cold. Mr. Fieri, you were so wrong about this place. It is a restaurant that is jacking up it’s prices while delivering crappy, substandard food and service because it was on your show.

My husband and I went while on our honeymoon because it was on diners, drive-ins, and dives. It was not what I expected. The menu wasn’t vast, so I was somewhat forced to get the fried shrimp, which was alright but not great. My husband got the soft shell crab sandwich and he loved it. We also had the stuffed mushrooms, they were alright. The service was decent. Not outstanding but not bad. I probably wouldn’t recommend this place as we’ve been to other places I liked better but we will probably end up going back for the soft shell crab. It’s more of a meh restaurant for me. Not great, not bad.

Not so much… of course visited bc of Triple D. Definitely a dive, not that I mind that as I mainly review the food. Took my dad here for the all u can eat flounder on Sunday’s. Waitress didn’t explain well and when I said we would both do the unlimited founder she asked if we wanted it fried. I asked if that was the only option? She said I could get broiled but could only order the broiled once. I took that as I could swap over to fried after I ordered the broiled. Nope. One order only. Anyhow, wish she had explained. Had to keep asking for items and drink refills. Fish was nothing special and mine had Major pin bones. Fried had some bones too. Got salad and baked potato, nothing special. Skyy strawberry lemonade was very sub par as well. Eh, won’t be visiting again.

We saw this place on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives so we had to try it. For just a short drive from the beach this little gen is totally worth it. We started with a lb of streamed shrimp, not to spicy and tasty cocktail sauce for dipping. Next fried crab cake sandwich for the wife and son I had the soft shell crab sandwich with pepper jack cheese salad on the side just scrumptious. All reasonably priced, great deal.

I’ve only been here once so it’s hard to give it a five star however my experience here was very good. The place was crowded but I did not have to wait for a table. The staff was friendly. I have a small child with me and he provided a high chair without asking. Enjoy the atmosphere and the service was prompt even though it was busy. The staff kept the hot coffee coming and I had an omelette which was very big and very filling. The price is good and definitely plan on coming back try more breakfast dishes!

I want to cry because before today I never knew that oysters and scallops could be this good. No seafood here is frozen and rubbery. The cooks know what they are doing and how to source great ingredients. Hold the coctail and tarter sauces because the ingredients stand on their own. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, while remaining unobtrusive. Normally I go out of my way to avoid restaurants that have been featured on DDD because Guy’s producers usually only send him to crappy greasejoints, but this place is awesome AND comparitively cheap!

This is a nice restaurant in Virginia beach reasonably priced. My second visit there went back for the great food and great service. I ordered the jumbo seafood platter which consisted of a large salad, shrimp, crab cakes, oysters, clam braco, scallops and flounder. Take out definitely needed.

This was a great meal for the whole family! We were pleased with the service and food quality. For my family of six, we all found something to satisfy our hunger after a long day at the beach. The AYCE Fish and Chips were flowing and the brewed iced tea hit the spot. My kids enjoyed a hunger sized burger with two sides. Prices were cheaper than any place we’ve eaten at so far! We will stop every year we come to VB!

The place has some really good qualities and some areas for definite improvement. First, the good — the waitstaff is very attentive and friendly; the hushpuppies are really good; and the Oysters Rockefeller are probably the best I’ve ever had. Now the not so good — the much lauded ‘fish hash’ contained tasteless, overcooked rockfish with mostly undercooked potatoes(why would they make such a fuss about this dish on triple D?); and my wife’s fish & chips was mostly rubbery. Being at the beach we had expected the fish to be flakey and perfectly cooked, but that was not the case. Given another trip to the beach, we would probably seek out another dinner establishment.

We came to this place during our anniversary weekend. We had very high expectations as this was a recommended place to eat on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-thrus’, and Dives. The service was excellent, as the waitstaff seemed to work together to attend to our needs. The food was great too. My beautiful bride of 4 years, had the seafood platter and was impressed by both the size and quality of the dish. I had the soft-shell crab sandwich. We also tried the Oysters Rockefeller which are a must have as well. The food was on fleek, as they say! So why not 5 stars? There were way too many flies buzzing around which really soured the entire experience. I understand a stray fly buzzing around, but my wife and I were overwhelmed by multiple flies during our entire meal. Not sure what needs to happen, but I suggest they fix that little issue. Overall, I advise you check it out, you won’t be disappointed by the food. Just bring some bug spray!

Come for the delicious seafood and good prices. The rockfish reuben(yes, sounds strange and maybe not so great) is delicious! I had the«Half & Half» which was broiled shrimp and scallops. I always order without butter and they honestly don’t need anything. The scallops are so perfectly buttery on their own! Crab cakes are also a good choice. For sides, the broccoli salad is amazing! We also enjoyed the beets, fries and applesauce, but that broccoli salad. killer. Not a huge selection of beers, but enough to complement the seafood. They could definitely clean up the place a bit. It has a slightly dingy feel and the bathrooms are disgusting! Avoid them at all costs. I heard the same about the men’s room. Service was a bit slow, but friendly. Looking around, I judged we were probably the youngest people in the restaurant, but I’m sure that’s because this joint is well established in the Oceanfront area. I wouldn’t mind going back to try their breakfasts. We saw a few plates go by and it looked like good, home-cooked food.

We came here on a Sunday night with a big group of 16. We heard about it because someone in our group saw it on diners, dives and drives! The place isn’t huge but it has an old school cozy feel to it. Definitely a place you can hangout and not worry about being bothered. For a starter I ordered the she crab soup. It was absolutely amazing. Such a great creamy flavor and a HUGE amount of crab meat. Had I known better I would have ordered two of these as my meal! As my main meal I ordered the broiled shrimp and crab with a side of fries and salad. The shrimp and crab was ok. It was sitting in a bowl of butter. The butter was just too much. It was overwhelming and made the meal too greasy and heavy. The fries were good. Cooked so they were in between soft and crispy. The side salad was fine. Nothing fancy. Just lettuce, tomato, cucumber and dressing. A few of the people in our group ordered the seafood platter. Some got fried and others broiled. The fried honestly looked a bit more appetizing. There was so much food not one of them finished it! Definitely a good meal to share. They have a full bar with really great prices. They run a frozen drink special daily. On their menu they had a sky wild lemonade. It was so refreshing. It tasted like a light strawberry lemonade. Definitely a perfect summer drink. They sell wines by the bottle for around $ 15! Overall a great place. Service was awesome. Our waitress had such a great personality and was so patient with our big group. I definitely recommend the she crab soup! I’m still craving it!

Solid 4 stars. Actual location is definitely dive. The food was really good and not what I anticipated after reading the reviews. The she crab had a very crab flavor and the paprika added a very good smoky taste. The portions were large and it was very inexpensive! We went for lunch. The fried rockfish sandwich was good and the fish flavor shined right through. The clam strips were a tad salty. The French fries though, were awesome! If you have a chance, check it out for lunch!
