The food was just good. The house salad was mushy, however the broccoli was perfect. I had a special, lobster stuffed shrimp, and made it a meal. So it came with a small salad and 2 sides. Bit too oily for me, however it was good. not great, just good. The wait staff, eh… I don’t recall the waiters name, Will, Bill, Buddy or Mac? It takes a lot for me to remember their names. He had a bad habit of walking away with words left to say. In other words, he walked away from the table while finishing his sentence. Really Rude, it wasn’t busy, it was Tuesday. Anyway, my date likes seafood, we’ve been there a few times, so I’ll most likely go back, cause you know, he pays!

I went there thinking the best of the place and left thinking the worst! I got inside and I couldn’t see anything. Now mind you, I’m color blind so in darkness everything blends together. I had to use the flash light on my phone while tugging on my husband’s sleeve like a blind person would and yet I still tripped on our way to the table. We got to the table and no improvements were there. A tiny candle with an electronic light too dim to see anything with. The people next to us were using the flashlights on their cell phones for crying out loud! I tried that too, I even asked the hostess if it was always that dark inside. She replied, «yes ma’am». I ask the server to turn the lights up a bit please. She replied that she was unable to do so as the light setting was set permanently. So we left! I can’t sit in complete darkness and be expected to eat something I can’t even see! It was brighter outside than it was in this restaurant and it was 9pm!!! We ended up going to Captain Georges restaurant! Definitely will NEVER go back to this restaurant!

The Food Was Amazing And Came Out In A Timely Fashion. When My Family First Arrived We Were Told To Stand, And Wait While Tables Were Being Cleaned Off. We Also Didn’t Get A Chance To Sit In Our Preferred Seats, But We Took What Was Offered. And On Top Of That We Were Given Silverware, We Had To Request For It. The Meal As Far As The Food Was Delicious, But I Wouldn’t Recommend Going In During Busy Hours. Like 8−9ish, Should Be Avoided.

The bang bang shrimp is so mouthwatering delicious! My sister had ordered it and when I tried it ~ I HAD to order some, just for myself. The restaurant is really nice on the inside & the staff is very friendly.

We haven’t been to this location in about a year because we felt the food had gone downhill since their initial opening. However, we received a nice gift card for Christmas so we paid the restaurant another visit last Monday night. We arrived before 5pm so the restaurant was pretty empty. I asked our young hostess for a booth(we were a party of 4 that included 2 very tall young men). One entire side of the restaurant had empty booths but, for some reason never explained, the hostess said we’d have to sit in the bar area if we wanted a booth so we were sat at a very small table in the middle of the restaurant instead. Our server also seemed young and inexperienced. She failed to tell us about any happy hour or menu specials. We had to ask. Our food was just ok for the price. I had the salmon with the pan Asian sauce. It was more sauce than fish. Hubby got the filet mignon w/the Oscar topping for an additional $ 4. He said the crab tasted canned and the asparagus was overcooked and soggy. The best part of our meal was the doughnut dessert with chocolate sauce. Really disappointing dining experience– they are obviously a corporate chain with employees who aren’t invested in the business. For the price and quality, I recommend sticking with the many local seafood restaurants and skipping this overpriced chain.

This location does not have much lunch-time traffic for some reason.(Probably because of a more hidden location, and not a stand-alone restaurant?) Still, this is the only location in the area close to me in Virginia Beach where I live. I’ve gotten lunch here a few times on the weekends… Not crowded at all on the weekends at lunch time. Food was very good each time I have been here, and the service was wonderful :-) I usually don’t buy desserts with my meals, but you have to here, very good dessert choices!

I’ve only been to Bonefish 2 or 3 times since it’s opened in Hampton Roads, so I don’t have too much to say about it. It’s not great but it’s not bad, either. I would probably take out-of-town friends and family here if they want something they’re familiar with and don’t want to try any of the local fare. Bonefish is an Outback Steakhouse concept and they specialize in seafood, but with this area being so close to the water there are a plethora of local choices one could choose from. Bonefish is what I’d choose for its predictability and its good service. My most recent experience was due to the fact that a friend heard about half-off Bang Bang Shrimp on Wednesdays. We stopped in after work and took advantage. The Bang Bang Shrimp is tasty and has a little kick, and it’s served over some greens, which when you mix it up with the sauce from the shrimp makes for a lovely salad. I also had the Chicken Teriyaki bowl, which was also pretty good. Presentation is a big deal here and both dishes looked exceptional when first laid down in front of you. I liked both dishes and have no complaints in that department. Service at Bonefish is sharp, although I’m surprised they don’t follow Outback’s old maxim of silent drink refills. That was the most prevalent question coming from the servers. For me, just keep the refills coming. Other than that, our server was attentive, answered our questions thoroughly, and took care of us. So again, no complaints. Bonefish is a good spot to dine. If it were closer to me I’d probably go more often. But I’ll just save it for a special occasion or for the occasional Wednesday Bang Bang Shrimp night. You should check it out if you’ve never been there, but I would be ready to pay a little extra. JV

My wife and I stopped in for dinner at 7:15 on a Friday evening after seeing an early movie, Spectre. Great movie with lots of actions. The restaurant and bar area were very busy. A server was dishing out bang bang shrimp as you entered the restaurant. They are delicious. Instead of waiting over 30 minutes for a table, we found two seats at the bar. After drinks, we ordered the Lily chicken for my wife and the crab crusted cod for me. The grilled chicken was served with spinach and goat cheese. She loved it. I really enjoyed my fish. It had lots of crabmeat on it and was served with a lemon butter sauce. Very tasty. Our service at the bar was great.

We had the Chilean Sea Bass. It was very expensive and unfortunately not prepared well because we experienced food poisoning. Do not recommend.

I had the shrimp and scallops for 18.90 There was a total of 4 scallops the size of a quarter on my plate and they where over done. The four shrimp were ok. Put it this way if I am driving by it and pass it I won’t turn around to stop.

Hubby and I have been chowing down on sashimi and bang bang here for 9 years. Rob is the best server ever! Try soy sauce for dipping your bang bang in. trust me, you won’t be disappointed. Love the Cobb Salad with goat cheese instead of blue cheese. Yummy! We seriously enjoy everything from the burgers to the Lily’s chicken. Obviously since we’ve been dining here for so many years :-)

My last two visits here have been very disappointing. The mashed potatoes obviously come from a box. My Chilean sea bass was not heated all the way through. My husband ordered green beans as his vegetable. Instead he received a zucchini medley of some sort. We brought it to our server’s attention and were told they’d be right out. We finished our meals and still hadn’t received his green beans. He told the server not to bother. Disappointed.

Food is always delicious. Brunch menu is lacking. They will usually make pancakes for kids but you have to ask. I recommend going here for either lunch or dinner and skip the weekend brunch. Even the service seems to improve throughout the day but it is typically spotty here at best. Bang bang anything is always a solid choice.

We got a gift card and tried it out. The service was exceptional, our server gave us great suggestions on the menu. The food was to die for and the Hawaiian martini, my new favorite drink. A little pricey, but definitely worth it. We’ll be back for sure.

My friends enjoyed their bang bang shrimps and pad thai shrimp very much. The service was attentive and friendly. We were promptly seated in a booth near the window. The size portion of my dish was too small. The dessert was too sugary. The bang bang shrimps were too sweet. I noticed this chain restaurant upgraded their menu recently. I haven’t been back yet to try it. It looks appetizing on their website.

Well I haven’t been to Bone Fish Grill in a few years because the quality of the food was starting to go down and it looks like it will be quite some time before ever want to try it again… we used to go once a week and would always get groups of friends together to go with us back in the day but I was highly disappointed in the Slack efforts from the kitchen. And what’s up with wait staff hating their jobs these days? don’t they understand that if you treat someone good that you’re waiting on you just might make a little bit more money each and every time. The saucy shrimp are no longer on the menu but when I asked about them she said that they can still make it… it seemed that the kitchen must have never made it because it was swimming in at least two sticks of butter had three Kalamata olives and two pieces of sun-dried tomato and about for small crumbles of feta cheese. Super sad! I had my daughter with me and don’t usually order the macaroni and cheese but she is a year and a half and loves noodles at this point… I have included The picture of the dried out nasty box shells and cheese that she ended up with for a crazy $ 7 fee! I could buy 20 boxes of storebrand shells and cheese for the cost of this crap. So very disappointed

I have been here a couple of times, the last time was a year ago. Today I went and kinda regretted going here instead of Texas de Brazil. It’s kinda like it has downgraded and the food definitely tasted like it. I got the Chilean sea bass and it tasted kinda weird, and I always get the sea bass so I was pretty disappointed. I got the crab fried rice with it, and I should’ve known not to get it– it came out very oily to the point that it could’ve been a oil soup. overall food: Price doesn’t match quality Service: pretty mediocre and pretty disappointed they didn’t have their Thai tea anymore. Prob won’t be coming back here again esp with how pricy it is for mediocre food.

Being a seafood lover, I frequently seek out the best seafood restaurants and Bone Fish is at the top of my list. Not the tippy top, but close to the top. I can never recall having a meal that I didn’t like. I’ve been to all the locations in the 757 area and this one I’ve been to the most, working in Lynnhaven, living in Portsmouth I have to pass by here on my way home. I love the ambiance. It’s cozy and sexy but still somewhere you can take your parents or your boss and not have to worry about being uncomfortable. Let me talk about the bar area. While there is a full bar with bar stools in front of it, there are several tables in bar area that seat six people, three people on each side, so it forces you to mix and mingle — get in where you fit in, so to say. I like the concept. I usually sit in this area on Wednesday when the BANGBANGSHRIMPARE $ 5!!! After 5 on Wednesday it’s nuts in this restaurant. Something about those bang bang shrimp I tell ya! In addition to the bang bang shrimp, I have enjoyed the Mahi Mai, pomegranate martini, watermelon martini, grouper, fish tacos, fish and chips [so yummy] the rainbow trout and believe it or not. … THEPORKCHOP! OHMYLORD the pork chop is soooooo good. Pork at a seafood restaurant, who knew?! Also the bread with the olive oil and pesto is really yummy. Can’t go wrong with BFG!
