Who the hell calls their business«Chartreuse»? When thinking of names for a fancy knick knack shop, why would they go through a big list of words, come to «Chartreuse» and say«Yep. That’s the one. Perfect.»? They didn’t even have any items that were chartreuse in color! I browsed around for a good hour or so and didn’t see anything even slightly similar in shade to chartreuse. The price tags are really small and I had to keep asking the shopkeep to read them for me. $ 500 for a wobbly table that somebody spray painted black? I thought it said $ 5! No thanks. $ 75 for a slightly bent wire coathanger? Are you kidding me? $ 1300 for a couch with muddy footprints all over it? Are you insane? I thought I was on some kind of hidden camera television show. Ridiculous. My wife would love this place, but I’m not gonna tell her about it.

This is a group of shops. Quality pieces but very pricey: Industrial table $ 475, Chair almost $ 1000 and artwork up to $ 10k. Loved it but it’s out of my present price range.

Chartreuse opened on 07.02.11& I have no idea why it took me so long to check it out. But this I do know… my husband is already regretting suggesting I stop by there to look for a mirror for our guest bathroom because my entire paycheck is now in jeopardy! I want to buy EVERYTHING she’s selling! She has tons of amazing finds– lots of antiques that are sold as-is and many that have been given new life with a fresh coat of paint & other unique details. One piece of furniture is so gorgeous that I’m not going to upload a pic of it because I don’t want anyone to see it & buy it before I do! :) Even if you’re not currently looking for anything new you should still swing by & you’ll be glad you did– so many beautiful items. The owner, Cindy, is very friendly & helpful. Chartreuse is open sun & mon by chance & tues — sat from 10AM — 5PM. It’s located in a small strip shopping center on Mediterranean Ave.
