It was decent. Edible. Drinks were watered down. Atmosphere is more like a sports bar. Friendly wait staff. They were out of certain menu items later in the evening. All in all was okay experience but would probably not go again or recommend.

I ordered take out here and enjoyed my selections: the calamari was seasoned quite well and nicely cooked. The Shuckers Burger had high quality beef and was very good. I liked the fries and the seasoning they use for them. And it’s all reasonably priced. Also, the Mussel Bowl was excellent with very interesting flavors. And the fish and chips were delicious.

I was led here from the reviews I read while I was at the beach. The ambiance is what you’d expect it to be for a restaurant by the beach, which is what my group and I wanted. It’s a really laid-back place to hangout and eat some amazing seafood(among everything else). This place is defined as a sports bar, which is obvious when you look at the televisions playing all types of sports. I’m not a sport person, but I didn’t mind because I was just looking at all the décor and funny tin signs they had hanging around the place. Pricing is not expensive at all, decent. Beer was as low as $ 4 a bottle, which again is not bad. The food was really good! I ordered fish tacos which were ENORMOUS. One solid piece of fish about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide. I couldn’t even finish it all. My husband bought their award-winning wings in mild and they were probably the most delicious wings I’ve ever had. They weren’t mushy and drowning in sauce. The crab mac kind of took me by surprise because I was expecting a mac n’ cheese style but it was prepared in almost a gourmet style that looked like a biscuit when it came out. It’s very filling for it’s seemingly small portion and it’s very good. Our friend got the fish and chips, and flounder sandwich I think it was; which he also enjoyed. It seems like a place where everything on the menu would be a good pick, but unfortunately we couldn’t order it all.

Stopped in for drinks and a bite to eat, on my daughters recommendation. Enjoyed the atmosphere and bar area. Drinks were good, and so was the food! You must try their Shea crab soup, and wings! The staff is the best! Cassie, JD, Glenn, Jake, are friendly, take care of your every request, and just do a great job of making you feel welcomed! Thanks for your great food and service!

Great sports bar and restaurant. After driving all day, did a late dinner here and there were tons of glutenfree options. Will sure be back if I’m back in town. They also provided free valet service.

It’s a good local eatery and bar. If you want a place to watch sports, this is the place to be! The staff is very friendly and they have a wide variety of menu items. My recommendation is to come in a Tuesday for the crab legs special or just order the Shucker bites, you can’t go wrong.

We tried this restaurant after our hotel receptionist suggested it. And, boy, am I glad we went! The food here was amazing and our server Cassie was very personable. I got the Shucker’s boil which is served in a pot with clam strips, shrimp, crab legs and scallops(i didn’t want the clams so they added a few shrimp @ no extra charge). It was amazing! I definitely recommend it. My husband got the tuna sandwich which he loved. It was an actual tuna fillet which was a decent size. He also got the homemade chips which were good. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place and will certainly be back next time we’re here.

Chose this restaurant on the recommendation of a local. Décor is nice and inviting, a nice mixture of sports and local history. It’s half restaurant, half bar, and the atmosphere was just right. Our waitress, Bryce was absolutely phenomenal, honestly, waitresses like her are few and far between. She was friendly, accommodating, helpful. We got off to a bit of a rough start when the first two things I picked out on the menu weren’t available. I ended up settling on a cheeseburger with tater tots. Others at the table ordered a chicken sandwich, a bacon cheeseburger and a cheese pizza. Everyone was extremely please with their meals, mine was the Lone Ranger. My bacon cheeseburger was ordered«done». Now I know that is a risky move, and chefs(for whatever asinine reasoning) tend to get bent out of shape about that and it’s a 50 – 50 chance that you’ll get something inedible. This chef fell into the bad side of that 50 – 50. My burger came out the worst I’ve ever seen. Honestly, for a split second, I thought I had cooked it(yes, I suck at cooking). It was charred 100% of the way through. I lucked out, b/c the chicken sandwich that was ordered came with 2 huge pieces of chicken and they shared with me. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of the burger, and as anyone knows, you never, ever, ever trust food that that has been sent back and recooked. However, when Bryce found out about the burger, she was insanely apologetic and immediately advised that she would be taking it off the bill. I felt bad because she was so great and the food was not her fault. I’m gonna chalk the burger thing up to an end I should have seen coming and I won’t hold it against the overall appeal of this place. I would go again, and I recommend it as a must try out place.

The personal professionalism and treatment of a security member on 3⁄17 was extremely UNCALLEDFOR, especially during a busy customer night. As a Über driver, I try to serve my customers as fast as safely, promptly as possible. Pacific Avenue is in the jurisdiction of the City of Virginia Beach. I had law enforcement kindly inform me of that reality and truth earlier that night. However, this pot-belly, Caucasian male with a goatee was totally obnoxious and rude in telling me to leave… he has NOJURISDICTION… and, I am providing safe ride home for one of his customers… one less person he has to be MAINTAIN security about. I will not take any of my Über passengers to CP Shuckers going forward and I will tell them about this specific incident of BULLYING!

I had a very pleasant visit while on business in the area. JD at the bar was quick to get a beer and menu in front of me, recommended the French Dip(which was really pretty good), and maintained a high standard of service. The ambiance is casual beach bar, but the place has character, and is well maintained. If you are looking for a casual beer & a bite, this might be a pretty good option. If you’re lucky, you might even run into a gal named Sunshine, who wears a tiera and hussles fellas at billiards.

First time I’ve been to this location — definitely a cool vibe — locals only, lots of TVs — some at tables so you can watch your favorite sporting event — really cool. There’s security at the door — I’ll give him a pass even though he called me ma’am. :-) I don’t feel like one but hey — very respectful. The food!!! The food! Delicious. Try the crab cake mac & cheese — holy shit! That was a plate of deliciousness. My husband got a burger — and he said it was pretty good, which coming from him — means it was pretty awesome. My sister got a pound of crab legs — they even hooked her up with some garlic on the side when she asked — yummy. Beers were cold and delicious. Service was awesome. Found a drunk girl sort of passed out in a stall, staff was quick to check on her and make sure all was well(gotta love it! — it’s a bar after all and some girls just need to learn to hold their booze… hope she took a good shower after that nap on the tile… mmm!) We plan on coming back and trying more of the menu and watching a game there. Thanks!

*I also posted this in the same business but different Unilocal site called CP Shuckers Raw Oyster Bar* Slightly better than the average tourist trap, this bar caters to tourists. Overall, a fun, cute little seafood pub with slightly overpriced fare and a specialty on unhealthy sandwiches and a little bit of seafood. The oysters were good, fairly large and not too salty. The bowl of chili was served warm and was good with a bit of pepper to it. Fries were mediocre as was the burger — nothing to write home about. Service was excellent and they maintain a very good server to guest ratio.

Enjoyed an early lunch on the pet friendly deck. It was the Beginning of the off season. We ordered the shrimp queso for an appetizer. It was a little runny and could have used a few more shrimp but ok. I got the seafood fish boil. I am very fenicky when it comes to seafood. Let me tell you I really enjoyed it. It was extremely fresh and king crabs were like«butta»(I’m a nyer). The scallops were sweet and shrimp cooked perfectly. The sausage and corn on the cob was delicately marninated in the stock. Hubby got the fried shrimp and he liked them. Try and beat the crowds like we did. Never made it inside the bar seems like a complete different experience. Maybe next time with out the pet might be in order.

Had dinner here over MDW. Both the mahi mahi tacos and crab cakes were really good! There was a wait for a table, but service was pretty quick once we were seated. Be sure to get an orange crush while you wait!

CP’s is legit. Crowded as Hell, but I don’t mind a crowd as long as the bar will serve me while I wait. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Saturday night and really wanted to sit at the bar. but as I said before, it’s crowded as Hell. We ordered a beer and had about a 25 minute wait. I was pretty impressed with how quickly they turn around their tables. We ordered 2 dozen oysters(duh) and they were delicious. The She Crab soup was also on point. We ended up deciding to share the Ahi Tacos, which we both thought were amazing. After all of that and a bunch of beers, I was full. So was my husband. So we decided to give up our table and head back to the bar area to see if we could get lucky with some seats. Nope. Anyway, we had one more drink and decided to bounce out to find a bar we didn’t have to stand at. Also, our bill was surprisingly smaller than I expected. The service was great, I really have zero complaints about this place. They cant help it that they are busy. Totally going back. Probably earlier though, so I can sit where I want.
