The view is really nice… But that’s the best we can say about this restaurant. The ambience, other than the view, is meh. The food was sub-par, and given the lack of patrons, the service was poor. I will say that everyone was very nice and welcoming, but when only two or three tables have guests, there is no reason for your glass to go completely empty and for you to have to find someone to ask for a refill or another drink.

Food was amazing. My husband had the new york strip and i had the fish tacos. Everything was PERFECTO! Our server Sam was amazing. Friendly, attentive, inviting was her. We usually don’t do dessert after having to eat so much yet we did that night. My husband had to force himself to finish it. We will definitely come back the next time we visit.

We came for lunch with my 11 and 6 year old boys. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and cheesy. We had the fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, she crab soup, and garlic spinach. Everything was delicious and the view is great.

Not too bad — nothing exciting. I had the bison meatloaf which was pretty good, but the Mac and cheese that came with it was in the cold side. My fiancée got the crabcakes and found quite a few shells — which wasn’t very appetizing. It was pretty pricey too. Nice quiet atmosphere and wasn’t crowded at all.

You eat here for the convenience and scenery of the beach. You should expect mediocre food and less than average service. The food is so tasteless lacking flavor.

Food was delicious, atmosphere was beautiful. Our server wasn’t very good– he didn’t mention happy hour or that wings were on special. We ordered before we asked about happy hour so out wings weren’t ordered the right way to. count at the discount. He was slow, forgetful and didn’t speak English very well. He was nice and meant well– but just not good at being a server. The food however was amazing. We got hot wings as an appetizer — the sauce was great! We got the bison meatloaf and orange miso salmon– both were perfect. We got the white wine that was on happy hour special(the server never told us what kind it was?! Lol yeah…) but it was good also! Then he brought us our check and we had to ask him if we could order dessert– he seemed uninterested and like he just wanted us to leave. We were patient and nice to him despite the bad service so I don’t know what that was about. The vanilla bean cheesecake was delicious. We split it– a great meal! Would’ve been 5 stars if we had another server– the one girl who served the table near us seemed really good and on top of things so I don’t think it’s a restaurant wide problem :)

We stayed at Sheraton for 5 days and ate every morning and happy hour at the fusion. We love the convenience of eating at the hotel n my kids seemed to enjoy the Sheraton food so decided to try the dinner as well as my son really wanted to try the short ribs. We went at 6:50 but only one table was occupied. Not a good sign to see so many empty table at dinner time but for 6 of us that’s okay as we will get served quickly and seated right away. Not… We ordered the usual happy hour stuff n kids ordered what they wanted to order but they were quickly disappointed as the server told us they were out of short ribs. She should’ve stop there but she said we can come back for the ribs tomorrow at 11am. Really? There were only few menu choices n number one on top is not available? We already had our drinks so we didn’t want to move so my son ordered the next best meat, NY strip — medium well. This was a bigger disappointment. He told me it was worse than my steak so I tried it. Unfortunately it was so tough I couldn’t cut it. Last time I made steak this tough was when I cooked the frozen steak and at least I can cut mine. So my husband returned it for another one. Big mistake… We ended up seating there with no one serving us afterward. No drink refills, not even a water. When I finally asked for the check the waitress apologized and said she was on room service duty and we can pack it to go. Hello? We r at a hotel where r we going to eat? On the bed? So no, we refused n she said it takes longer for meat to cook at medium well so I told her to make it medium n she said 5 min. When she brought it she said medium well will make it tougher. She should’ve kept her mouth shut because I was at a boiling point. I didn’t say anything for not getting water, I didn’t said anything for not getting bread, all the basic stuff you get when you get seated so don’t tell me what meat would be like at medium well. I’ve had plenty of medium well meat before. If it wasn’t for my husband I would’ve made a scene but he was more understanding and wanted to feed my son and also not to waste $ 28 for a steak. Second steak was much better but no flavor so my son drowned it with hot sauce. Meatloaf and hamburger were decent according to my other sons, angel hair with scallop too buttery n not so fresh… again, had to drown the angel hair in hot sauce to kill the buttery taste and give it a kick. I gave 10% coupon n my vouchers so dinner came out to $ 115. 10% is not that hard to calculate but still she said she gave us 10% n took $ 10 off the bill. Didn’t want to bother at this point as we just wanted to get out of the restaurant but this whole meal just ruined our night n the whole experience with Sheraton. Top it off the waitress said she would appreciate any gratuity. What? I would’ve gave our usual 22% but just because she said that we left her 18%. I know… that’s still a lot but my more understanding husband reminded me that they make living off the tips and the bad food or bad training wasn’t her fault… Well this will be our last Sheraton Virginia beach for us.

Morning buffet is just mediocre at best. The same food that comes free with many hotels, you have to pay for here. Lunch room service blackened salmon salad was very fishy and undercooked. Hot wings were very good. Dinner room service She Crab Soup and Spicy Shrimp pasta definitely made up for the subpar breakfast and lunch. Ordered braised short ribs another night and ended up sending them back. They were as tough as leather. The potatoes and artichokes were cooked perfectly though. Fish tacos weren’t bad, weren’t memorable either. Overall I’d say the food is overpriced for the quality you get. They need to step their game up.

We only ate here through room service and take out but the restaurant looks great with huge windows looking outside to the boardwalk and ocean. It’s the perfect location. We had she crab soup that was good but we couldn’t eat it because it was way too salty. The amount of crab and thick sauce were great but couldn’t over come the salt. We had the crab and spinach dip. It was good. Still on the salty side. The little slices of bread were good with it. The kids meal was pb&j my daughter only ate a couple of bites. I think it was drier than she likes it. She just says it was ok. The fries with it were great though. :) For dessert we had molten chocolate cake. It was delicious. Very standard but loved the addition of mint chip ice cream. We also had vanilla bean cheesecake. The menu said it had seasonal berries and whipped cream but it just had a berry sauce and a chocolate sauce drizzled around the plate. The server was nice and friendly but handed my daughter her food on the bed which I thought was strange. The real reason for the two stars is wait time. We had simple food but the wait was over an hour. For breakfast the wait was 20 minutes for a couple bagels and a bread basket that I waited for in the restaurant. We had tried to eat in the restaurant but were told it was an hour and 20 minute wait. I saw a lot of open tables so I thought that was strange. I got the feeling they just didn’t want to serve us. Even when I ordered the bread basket she said they were in the middle of buffet service so it would be a while. Again the restaurant didn’t look busy so I just waited. There is something wrong in the kitchen to have such slow service. It’s nice to be able to eat in the hotel you are staying at without feeling like it is a burden on the staff. This was a Monday night and Tuesday morning. This hotel would have been perfect if the restaurant was better.

Ok, so when walking in, beautiful atmosphere, priceless view, ordered food, waited at least 30 minutes for just salad. Once 4 out of 5 entrees arrived, the two orders of ribs were all fat and undercooked, and since my wife was pregnant at the time, this was a major problem. the two shrimp pasta entrees tasted like Chef boyardee. The last entrée arrived 15 minutes later, so the rest of our meals were cold, … To end the worst experience I’ve ever faced in a restaurant, we asked for the manager, she saw that the ribs were all fat and undercooked, and comped the whole meal, which we did not eat. That being said, this could have been a bad night all in all for the chefs, or this could be their normal practices. Hard to say… In closing will not eat here again…

Ordered a cheese plate to start… Came out in cubes and looked like cheese cubes from a grocery store. Also got chopped nuts. Not really sure what to do with this. Ordered tuna medium rare and got it medium well to well done. I feel like the chef and management changed since last year when the restaurant was given a face-lift — food and décor. The view from the restaurant is still nice, but the food needs HELP. Also, we went later in the evening around 8:30. Wait staff was already setting up for breakfast, so lots of clanging and resetting tables. I gave an additional star, because the waitress and manager took off the bad items. For Parents… They have a kids menu which is decent and has the same items as all other restaurants in Virginia Beach(it’s like they all got together and came up with a uniform kids menu). Kids liked the desserts. Bathrooms are far enough that you want to take them. Having the lounge area with computers is nice if you want to send the kids away safely and enjoy maybe one more cocktail and forget for a second you have kids :-)

The 5 – 7 Happy Hour is a great value. The $ 4.00 drink specials, $ 2.00 fish tacos and the 50 cent wings are great. Get a seat in the bar in front of the windows and enjoy! JoAnn the waitress is fabulous !!!

Well I did not try any food or drink here but I am a witness to the atmosphere and it is gorgeous! I came here one night for an event held in December. Live jazz, ugly sweater contest and raffle drawings were offered. There was even free photos with Santa. The area seemed a little small, but for a crowd of 50 people or so, it worked perfectly. I found out about this place from a meet up group. And since I had attended another ugly sweater party prior, I figured well let me continue on with the festivities. As a result, that’s how I ended up here. And would you believe… my «DIY» ugly sweater took home 1st place prize. Go me!!! And the prize was a gift certificate to return back to the restaurant for a meal on them($ 30.00). This venue is inside the Sheraton Hotel. When you walk in the front of the hotel walk straight to the back and walah! They have booth seating with high top backs as well as bar seating. And bar top seating centered behind the bar. The hotel is on the ocean side. I am sure it is beautiful when it’s daylight. However, I did not see any seating outside, so perhaps this is not offered. Nevertheless, I will check next time I visit to redeem my gift certificate. Stay tuned :)

I got breakfast here for two mornings with my sister as my spg benefit and based on those days, would not return. All the foods were underwhelming, portion sizes are small for the price and food quite mediocre. They were out of strawberries both mornings but the waitress failed to tell us that upon ordering and brought out 8 blueberries on one day(to be split with the yogurt) or nothing at all on the other. Oatmeal was so watery and when I asked about it, waitress shrugged and said that’s how it’s supposed to be(I «extracted» a third cup of water from it). Yogurt with granola was the only decent item, I guess people come here for the ocean view.

Was looking for new eating adventures while in Virginia Beach last week, so checked with my trusty Unilocalers to see what they recommended. Fusion came up high on the list and it was right next door to where we were staying. The biggest plus, however, was the offer that popped up – buy one entrée, get one free. No restrictions on dates, times, etc. Off we went to check it out. Walked into the Sheraton Hotel, where the restaurant is located, and did not see any signs for Fusion. Asked the front desk and was pointed into an area just off the lobby and bar. The décor is modern hotel, with blues and greens to remind you that you are at the ocean. A big turn off was the scent of Nautilus cologne in the lobby… seemed like it was piped in the way some bakeries pipe in the scent of cookies! Or was it just some guy who wore too much of it? All I know is, It was strong and overwhelming! Anyway, here we were at Fusion, the only two people in the dining room for dinner. Hmmm, not a good sign, but it was the middle of the week in October. Perhaps weekends in summer are busier, I hope so for their sake. The server we had was not the friendliest person. She was a bit rough around the edges, as though her last job was serving burgers at a local beach bar. I’ll say the food was good, but the prices are over the top crazy! If it wasn’t for the BOGO offer, we would not have eaten here. «Hotel prices» if you will — $ 27 for a bowl of pasta and five shrimp. They also had the option of a half order, which was explained as three shrimp(vs. five), and that was $ 14. It tasted great, but not THAT great. The music threw me off at this restaurant too. For a place that is trying to be upscale, they were playing hip hop and rap music from a crummy sound system. Huh? One more note — when we told our server about the Unilocal offer(at the beginning of our meal), she was totally unfamiliar with it. She asked to take my phone to her manager so she could show it to him. She comes back five minutes later and says they will accept it, but they already clicked it as being«used.» Trust much? This prevented me from sharing my check-in it with Facebook or giving any tips for another four hours. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying the more I thought about it.

Planned on going to a different restaurant for brunch, but it was closed. This was a great alternative. The prices were very reasonable. In the middle of the day, it was very family friendly too. Everyone else seemed to be sitting outside at the restaurants on the strip, but the menu in here was significantly better. Plus, the view was great(and it had air conditioning). I had burger, mom had the crabcake sliders, and my wife had the beercan chicken. All were very tasty and the service was fantastic. I’d visit it again.

I was staying in the Sheraton(which houses this restaurant), and when I fired up the Unilocal app to look for local places to eat, this seemed like a decent option. When I looked closely and saw that they had a buy 1 entrée, get 1 free deal on Unilocal — I was in. You rarely see a check-in deal that good, but it seems that this restaurant is newer and is trying to build up a clientele, so the deal makes sense for them. The wife, kids, and I went there around 5:15, and since they just opened, they let us pick our seat. We picked a table by the window, and let me first say, the view from this restaurant is beautiful. It is on the 2nd floor of the hotel, and the wall facing the beach is mostly glass, so you have an expansive view of the boardwalk and ocean. The kids menu is identical to the menu of the restaurant downstairs(Cabannas), and the prices are the same, but in Fusion the kids meal comes with fruit whereas it doesn’t downstairs. My girls loved the grilled cheese sandwich(they are typical picky kid eaters) and actually asked to go back to Fusion the next day to get it again. I ordered the braised short rips and my wife had the blue cheese NY strip steak. We both thought these were really well done; deep, well-developed and thought out flavors, sides that complimented the dish, and a nice fancy presentation to boot. This restaurant is nice enough that you could go on a date and dress up a bit, but also casual enough that you can put on a clean shirt after a day at the beach and grab a quality meal without feeling out of place. They strike a nice balance in that regard. The service is also perfect — very friendly and attentive. If you go, a couple of tips: 1. You get 20% off if you are a Starwood Preferred Guest member. That is a free program to join, so make sure you do that if you aren’t already. 2. But… an even better deal if you are going to get entrees, is to use the Unilocal BOGO deal while they have it. 3. They have a great happy hour. I think it is from 5 – 7 but I’m not 100% sure. The fish tacos are really good and just $ 2 each(salmon and tuna in each), 50 cent wings, and a couple of different wines at just $ 4 glass. I was really surprised at how well done this restaurant was; I typically don’t expect much out of hotel restaurants, and since Sheraton is more of a mid-level hotel for Starwood, my expectations were low. I was pleasantly surprised with Fusion.

We went here almost everyday at some point due to convenience of course BUT we loved the place hence is coming back daily. The breakfast bar was amazing. There fried green tomato salad and arugula beet salad were both our top favorites. Great service and very beautiful view of the ocean. Ceiling high windows lines the restaurant. Will definitely be returning.

Another generic hotel restaurant, although I will say that at least the food is halfway decent. In Virginia Beach, I do need to add that caveat. I find that a 4 star restaurant in Virginia Beach is a 3 star restaurant in DC or a 2.5 star restaurant in NY. I am giving this a «DC» rating, so maybe I should actually rank Fusion as 4 stars? The prices are a bit higher than usual, but if you’re an SPG member, you can get a 20% discount by mentioning that fact, so then the prices are just average. I’ve ordered the fish tacos here with salad. It was pretty generic — neither bad nor amazing. My husband ordered the burger and fries. The burger was enormous, but the fries were pretty soggy. And the third person I was with ordered the crabcake sliders with fries. That’s probably the best value out of them all, although you certain carbo load it with 3 buns and the fries to go with it. Ultimately, that’s probably the dish I would order in the future. Do not get the soup here — $ 4 for basically what is a large spoon of soup — what a rip-off. And although you supposedly get free bread with your meal, they run out of bread about 50% of the time we’re here. At least the restaurant is decorated well?

Best of all, this place was right downstairs of our hotel, the Sheraton. Great outdoor viewing, while still being able to get the fancy dining experience. They have friendly service, but it can be slow at times when there is a lot of people, being that there are only 2 waiters each time we went for dinner and a single bus«lady». The food is pretty good and average pricing for the meal; remember that you are located on the beach and in a tourist location. We came here twice on the week we came, and loved every dish we ordered! They have half portion sizes; perfect way to get a salad/soup/appetizer along with a half size entrée. Definitely recommended if you are in the area and looking for good prices and good food!
