Based on the first review, my partner and I thought we’d take a chance on this unknown. The mall this place is located in is definintely a dive… A super Kmart and a Biglots are the prominent tenants, with many empty small retail spaces around them. This buffet was tucked away behind a double hedge row and upon first look, we thought we were in the wrong place. All kinds of boxes and items like cheap costume jewelry, toys, sunglasses, etc were stacked up around the entrance. After confirming we were in fact in the right place, we made our way past the clutter and in the back, we found the buffet area… This was about 7PM on a Thursday night… only one or two other parties were there and the food looked just OK sitting in the bins being kept warm. I filled up with General Tso’s Chicken, black pepper chicken, lo mein, and fried rice… All in all, not bad at all… The BBQ chicken was also very good… There were some desserts available also which I did not try-my partner indicated they were not fresh… bottom line — We were frightened at the onset, but it turned out OK… not the neatest or freshest, but definitely different and not that bad. Price was reasonable … Waitress was fine but we could barely hear her speak… Not a 5 star to be sure, but not as bad as we thought…

This is the worst chinese I have ever had. The food tasted and appeared to have been sitting out for hours, which made sense because there was only one other table occupied. Appetizers were cold and stale. Rice did not taste OK. We each tasted a bit of each item on our plates and asked for the check. I complained to the hostess and she took 50% off the bill.

I have always been a fan of all-you-can-eat buffets, especially those of the Chinese variety so when mention was made of stopping in at Number 1 Buffet [Chinese obviously] for lunch I was all for it. This restaurant is huge with buffet items spread out amongst 6 or 7 different islands of tightly packed serving trays with items ranging from lo mien and sushi to Buffalo wings and peanut butter chicken [which looked horrific and I would not have touched with a 39 and a half-foot pole], all the items I chose were delicious and fresh even though I had the absolute last piece of chicken teriaki. After all was said and done and the cheque came I was shocked to say that my amazing and filling meal had only cost me $ 7.50, it was really one of the best deals I have ever had at a restaurant especially one of such high quality food. The only complaint I had was the fact that I don’t remember anyone filling up my water glass and communication with the staff was quite difficult, still worth a 5-star review though.

This isn’t fine dining, per say. It’s a little hole in the wall restaurant stuck between a post office and a thrift store. It’s quiet and there’s plenty of seating, however. They have an EXTENSIVE buffet including shrimp and crab or lobster regardless of the hour. Speaking of hours, they’re open until 10:30pm, which is really nice for a late night case of Chinese-food cravings. The place seems to be run by one family, and the service(usually done by a very young-looking girl, maybe the daughter?) could be a ton better. It’s a buffet, though, so it’s not like you need much contact with the waitress! Eh, in spite of the slightly lacking service/atmosphere, the price($ 5, all you can eat, all day) and the selection DEFINITELY makes this one of my favourite places to eat.
