Should have known when they were too busy to have a knowledgeable person serve me on the first visit, but they had a sexy bike at a good price… In less than 300 miles, this bike has melted down due to being built poorly. This shop simply can’t build bikes properly. Had problems with the dérailleur set in less than 200 miles. Repaired at a local shop where the conscientious tech asked«damn, who built this? They have no idea how to calibrate derailleurs…» Moved to FL shortly after that and less than 100 miles later the entire left crank arm falls off… I’m not exactly a heavy dude and I don’t ride all that hard. Why is a crankset falling apart 300 miles into using a bike? Maybe because this crap retailer builds too many bikes and builds them poorly. I’d expect this at Walmart, but seriously, how did this bike get out the door without more care? Go somewhere else… Spend a bit more for quality. These guys suck… I guess it’s a good thing they also ripped me off for a maintenance plan. Gonna get this taken care of by their shop in Tampa… Then gonna take it somewhere else to check that work! Poop performance bike shop!

Went in to help my GF Load her bike that she test rode the day before. Jay was extremely helpful and was very instructive. He was very attentive to other customers that came in to the store while helping us. This was my second time coming into the store and I have had positive experiences both times/

My salesman Jay was so friendly and knowledgeable. Probably could have sold me anything in my price range but steered me toward the perfect bike for me-the Americano in a beautiful matte silver sage color. I shopped around and found Conte’s and Bike Beat way out of my price range. Their salesmen were good but not nearly as personable as Jay. Will be back for any necessary items. Cannot recommend them enough!

The chain came off my bike the other day and after futile attempts to put it back on, I took the bike into Performance Bicycles. The customer service was exemplary. They put the chain back on, tightened the chain, and got my bike«road ready» again! When I asked«how much?», they replied«no charge»! For someone with no mechanical skills whatsoever, I am forever grateful.

POORformance Bicycles!!! I’d post ZEROSTARS if it was an option. I took my son’s bike in for a simple pedal crank repair(bearings) and they said it would be 2 weeks before they could get to it and would call me with an estimate. Two weeks went by and then three. So I called and they hadn’t done a thing. They said they’d fix it right away and call me when it was ready. They didn’t call. I called back and they said I could pick it up so I did. I got it home before I realized it was in the exact shape as it was when I took it in! I should’ve checked before I left the shop, but I thought it HAD to be repaired after that long considering the nature of the repair and the length of time it was there. They seemed so apologetic and said they’d repair it free of charge to make things right. When I got home and saw it still in disrepair I called them and said I’d be bringing it back they said it was fixed. Ha! I can tell a shifty pedal crank when I see one! Bottom line they still didn’t fix it after having it for 3 more days. It broke before my son ride it out of the driveway!

I’ve been considering upping my bike game, so my bike-loving bf brought me here to test ride some wheels and see what would work best for me. Walking in, you’ll see two large aisles filled top to bottom with bikes ranging from $ 200 to over $ 1000. Lots of options for the beginners to the really advanced cyclists(think Tour de France type). In the back they also have what looks like a repairs area as well as clothing and other accessories, so this is a one-stop shop kinda place to get all your biking goods. I can’t quite bump up my review to more than 3 stars because my bf and I stood around for over half an hour without any kind of service whatsoever. Lots of employees were either just talking shop with customers which I understand, but some were just straight up avoiding us and would pretend to busy themselves with other things. Overall not too impressed with this place.

Salesman is rude and condescending. Just looking for a core for and innertube. Got nothing but attitude. Going to Kmart to buy new innertube. This store will never get my money.

Update, The district manager reached out to me some time ago, just haven’t had time to get on here and write an update. Asked a lot about my experience and offered to help make it right and noted that he will be holding training for staff about being attentive to customers. Good job on that front.

Everytime I go in the staff is always friendly and willing to help get me what I’m looking for. They will just shoot the breeze as well no matter what kind of cycling your into. I do wish they carried more fox products in the store.

I had a great experience here purchasing a bicycle, even though it wasn’t in stock they took there time and ordered it for me online. Military friendly and help me find it at the right price.

Let’s just start by saying if you don’t know about bicycles you would think this is just another overpriced bike shop. Some of the most expensive bikes in here were cheaper than my husbands most prized bike. When we lived in Washington(state not DC) he would always do the Seattle to Portland bike race and it was fun. That being said he is the bike expert not me. I just go along for the ride. Wives: if your husband wants to go to Performance Bicycle go ahead and tag along and when you get here just tell him to meet you next door when he is done(that’s what I do) Husbands: if you want to get your wives involved a bit more let them browse with you for a bit and then go; «do you want to go look around next door while I finish up here?» I realize that bike shops are not for everyone and some wives might find it boaring. Especially when they can’t understand why a bike can cost over $ 1,000. I normally browse in the bike shops with my husband but this day we had the twins and even though one of them was in awe of all the bikes the other one wasn’t so after a bit we went next door. So back to the store. I like that selection that they have to offer, but no one said hi when we walked in and the guy at the repair shop in the back didn’t say hi either. Call me old fashioned, but doesn’t it hurt to acknowlege customers that are in your store?
