I was so excited to try this little place because of the reviews and all the times I’ve passed it but was so disappointed with the service. We were sat in front of both the men’s and women’s bathrooms and were forced to smell and hear everything that went on in there before and during our meal. We asked twice to move but they always gave the open tables to new incoming customers. I have never had such a terrible dining experience… Tables should never be directly in front of a bathroom door. Imagine having to eat something after someone uses the bathroom next to you and then opens and closes the door so the air can rush towards you. Never again.

Most definitely my favorite breakfast place. Everything is hand made and the bread is very fresh. Much more reasonable than citrus or any other popular breakfast place around here. And they give you a massive amount of food. There is only one cook and she runs the whole place. If you are an impatient customer who doesn’t appreciate good food this place is definitely not for you.

We have sat here 42 minutes with nothing but a glass of water! Not off to a good start at this point. Food was ok but the service was terrible. We won’t be back.

Fantastic location to grab a great bit to eat while running errands. Super friendly service. Perfect outdoor patio seating under straw umbrella shade for a comfortable eating experiencing. Fresh hot coffee and chilled orange juice served all day. Fabulous selection of breakfast, lunch, soups, salads and dinner.

I was told to come here by a good friend of mine to try the Ruben and when I got there I decided to try something a little different. I tried the stuffed cabbage. The gentlemen in the front was very helpful and my food was ready quick. I came back to work to eat on my break and I didn’t quite understand how can something so good be so bland. I thought maybe it’s because I’m not use to the different taste so I kept eating until I finally wanted to throw up in my mouth. I called and left a message for the owner to call me back. I went there w/no attitude w/my food & receipt in hand & explained why I wasn’t satisfied & the owner came to front opened and seen I ate one of the cabbages and told me you ate half. I told her ok it’s because I didn’t want to waste 13 dollars and I tried forcing myself to eat and I just couldn’t. She throws the container in the trash and proceeds to cursing me out in my face. I could even hear her cursing me out as she walked away. Just because this lady is the owner doesn’t give her the right to talk to me that way. I was clearly unsatisfied and very apologetic. She was so angry. She didn’t want to give me a full refund but she did give me half of my money back! I have told my coworkers that frequents this place regularly and she has lost a lot of customers because of her rudeness. She treated me this way in front of other people & it was not right. I will never come back and will make sure no one that I know does. And I know a lot of people that actually comes here regularly and also their families. Smdh. I give her 5 stars because she cursed me out so bad no one will ever eat at this place again. I’m southern … i was raised on stuffed cabbage & isnt suppose to taste like that! And I know Greek people and they can cook. It was disgusting. Bland no taste. Don’t tell her that though she will curse you out lower than her dog.

I’ve passed this little place countless times over the years and finally stopped in for a lunch with my daughter and some good friends. The first time will definitely not be the last time! No wonder this pretty café has been around for so long. We started with the spinach roll and split it among the group. The name of the dish doesn’t do it justice; it should be heaven in a dish! Think of a giant cinnamon roll but stuffed with spinach and covered in melted cheese with a white sauce and you get the idea. We had a variety of sandwiches all made with house baked bread and all delicious. The house made chips were the perfect side dish. My daughter had a beautiful Salad Nicoise that I’ll be trying next time. There’s a nice choice of wine and beer and breakfast is served all day long. That’s a plus for any place! Try it, you’ll love it and you’ll go back. I know I will!

European style café, small and quaint. Breakfast is served all day. They have wine and beer, but no liquor. Coffee came on a saucer. Wide variety of foods from all over the world to choose from. Seemed to be a family owned business. Service is SLOW, took 50 minutes at 1 pm on a Sunday after the order was placed. Food was delicious with a homecooked feel.

Cool little place AND somehow I found a place that @BK has not eaten at or reviewed. All of the breads are made on site, the soups are amazing. This is my second time here and both times I have been really impressed with the food. There are not a lot of tables, maybe enough for 20’ish people. They do take out. The prices are reasonable. I have not tried any desserts yer, but I will soon. I will be back.

This cozy café is family owned — great care goes to preparing and serving delicious quality home cooked meals. My husband and I eat here often and we are rarely disappointed. The goulash consists of a generous plate of marinated beef tips and carrots in a lovely broth– homemade multigrain bread is perfect for sopping it up.(This special bread is available for purchase but they need a days notice-other fresh breads are available for purchase though) The spinach roll is my favorite-spinach and a touch of feta maybe(?) in a phillo pastry covered in a cheesy bechemel sauce. I always take home leftovers and it’s just as good the next day. Soups are out of this world! They usually have tomato basil every day but they have about 10 different soup recipes that they rotate every week. Beef and cabbage is my husband’s favorite. The food served at this best kept secret is just like mom served. It’s worth a try!

Fabulous food! Love how friendly everyone was. My first time there and I felt like family. My friend and I had to rush and they brought boxes and checked us out as soon as we got our food, so nice of them to be so understanding. Will definitely be back!

Super quaint little spot. The servers are all really friendly and the food is great. I got a turkey sammich(they make their own bread!!) and a tomato basil soup(also homemade!). The food is awesome.

Decided to try restaurants outside of my normal rotation, and this was a close, reasonably priced option. Food was good; however, I waited 50+ minutes for a veggie omelette. I was told that there were 5 orders ahead of mine, but that is still an absorbitant amount of time to wait for breakfast. I walked in and was immediately seated, and provided beverage. I ended up having to take my order to go, as it was nearly an hour wait. Service, meh. Food, good.

Love! Everytime we come to va we sadly eat at IHOP lol. My reason for 4⁄5 instead of 5 was purely based on the wait for food, it took forever. I had pancakes which were thick and crispy. My boyfriend had the scrambler, my mom had the yogurt bowl or whatever that was called and the rest of my family had egg plate options. Everything is made fresh and it shows. The fruit that came with the plates was fresh and there was a lot. Blueberries, bananas, apples and strawberries. Home fries were crispy and well seasoned. Prices were reasonable for 6 of us to eat breakfast it was about 60 dollars. It seems to get busy early but will definitely be back to the bread box for more

Bobby & I had lunch here today and as usual the food is SOGOOD and the presentation beautiful! Everything so fresh! I had the chicken salad cold plate and I dive in before I took a picture but it was a work of art and tasted even better! Fresh baked Basil Focasia Bread, chunky chicken with celery & onions & just the right amount of mayo! The salad had VERY thinly sliced cukes, garden tomatoes, sweet red onion layered over crisp greens with a large bouquet of Basil on top! SODELISH!

I have passed by this place forever, what a mistake. Went there for the first time and food was excellent and service was great. I had the the bread box BLT and wow it was so full of flavor and was not your traditional BLT(came with Gouda and turkey). They also make their own potato chips which are out of this world

Come on hone to the Bad Box café, I felt like I was hanging out at home with some friends at an after party to grab some homestyle grub. I was excited to see that there was breakfast served all day! I ordered the bread box café with a cup of coffee. The hah browns were great plus they had Texas Pete which ant place that has it is definitely worth it. The service was pretty good and the best part was the vacuum cover. The interior was more then I imagined but spacious, nice service and cook staff willing to assist. Can’t wait to return for a different meal.

Well, this place was a big surprise! I have driven past it many times and never thought twice about it. After reading some reviews on here, we decided to try it out. From the outside it does not look like much. Then, even once we went inside, I was still a little skeptical. It is small and not very fancy. But, do not let that fool you. The food is very good! Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable! I ordered the half sandwich, half soup combo. My sandwich was the chicken salad and my soup was the split pea. Everything is homemade, including the bread. My husband ordered the meatball sandwich and loved it as well. My oldest daughter went with waffles and my two youngest the cheese pasta. All the food was fresh and delicious. The parking is a pain and the décor, etc could use some work. Otherwise, I might give this place a 5 star.

I absolutely adored this place! Such a cute little place with great food and friendly people. It’s pretty out of the way for me, but it was well worth the trip. We came into the restaurant and were greeted right away and found our seats. The waitress immediately brought us menus and took our drink orders. The two people serving were quick to bring out our food and refill our drinks. They frequently checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. My chicken salad was delicious and so filling! It was presented so beautifully, and I enjoyed every bit of it. The bread came out warm and tasted great. I ate every last bite! I really enjoyed my meal and definitely want to go back and try some of their other menu items.

Surprised at my visit there today. For the longest time I thought it was one of those grab and go type places. From the outside I pictured a tiny place with very little seating. When you walk inside you find a nice, quaint and very clean restaurant. Granted, this place only sits maybe 20 – 25 people but still bigger than I saw from driving by over the years. You will get a very home like feel to the place, too. With a name like The Bread Box Café I thought only breakfast and maybe lunch meals. It turns out that these folks serve up dinner Tuesday through Saturday. Since I was only in for lunch I really didn’t pay attention to their higher priced items but from the looks of how they do things fresh I’m pretty sure dinner is good, too. Today I ordered their club sandwich. The picture I posted was only 1⁄3 the sandwich. I was so hungry I went through the first two parts of my sandwich without even thinking to take a picture. Overall, the sandwich was good and a very good sized portion. It wasn’t your typical size sandwich sized bread. Wayyyy bigger so I can see the $ 8.49 or $ 8.99 price tag to it. Take note on this… chips are an extra 99 cents. Most places provide chips with their sandwichs. Here it was an extra buck. No big deal but I did have to get up and ask for chips after a few bites into my sandwich. The family that runs this restaurant are from Yugoslavia just in case you are wondering about the accents you will hear. Cool spot just a few minutes away from the office.
