Ry Restaurant and Lounge

What was this place. My cousin and I had high hopes when we saw that they provided hookah but the hookahs weren’t even khalil mamoon’s. Why does the staff get to smoke a khalil and everyone gets a small dingy hookah? Every hookah lounge I’ve ever been to, I’ve had a khalil no matter how small the place was. And let alone that, the air condition was blowing in my face. So, everything that I was smoking disappeared in thin air. What is the point of that?
Well anyways, the entire space was so small. The atmosphere felt like a party in someone’s basement. There was a seating area that was blocked off, and they had 3 – 4 bouncers. Honestly I don’t even know why they had that many bouncers.
The best thing about my night was the music that they played. I loved it — they played all the hottest tracks from rap, hip-​hop, reggae, and soca. For the only hookah lounge near all the bars, this was not what I was expecting.

If I could give no star I would. I went to this place, with a reservation. I was told they didn’t have my reservation even though I showed them the confirmation from Unilocal.They sat us anyway at a table they told us we had to do bottle service which wasn’t a problem because it was so many of us. I had no problem with that. Then they told me it would be $ 350 instead of the $ 200 I was told t the door. First red flag. Then they told us we weren’t allowed to keep the bottle at the table that they would pour our drinks and then would bring back the bottle when we were ready for the next set of drinks. Second red flag. Then when they charged my card they charged me $ 420 instead of the $ 350 I was told. Final flag. I said what’s the extra $ 70 for? The manager goes, it’s an automatic gratuity that’s included.
Every establishment I’ve been to they’ve told me what the gratuity was and how much of a percentage it would be. This place nothing. No mention of it ever. Of course I would’ve given the tip to the hostesses who were exceptionally pleasant but the manager… That broad was the worst and her customer satisfaction was non existent
Will not be returning.

This year the owners of RY completely redone the inside, and built an outdoor patio! It is the only hookah bar in the 757 with an outdoor seating area. The lasers lighting and sound inside are worthy of any club in the area and the staff is awesome. If you want to change from the typical hip-​hop and trap music on the beach this is the place to go especially on their EDM nights! A lot of the local hookah bars use cheap pipes the pipes here are all glass and of the highest quality! I lived in the Middle East and this place is legit!

Went to RY for the first time on Saturday, and had a great time! There was no cover (uh, yeah!) and the drinks were pretty standard for any club/​anywhere — $ 10-​$ 12.00. We also got a 2 tube hookah for $ 20, so once again not too bad. I must be honest I was expecting this place to be filled with kids, and dreading the the impending thought of being the old chick in the club; however, there was a pretty good mix of folks my age and younger. The music was your standard ratchet club banging hip-​hop I mean come on lets be honest… isn’t that all club music nowadays? Sigh. Anyway the owner was very nice, and we had one gentleman (bald guy, sorry can’t remember your name) who was so accommodating and super nice. Overall great experience, and definitely worth going back the next time I am in VA beach.

Ry lounge has a great atmosphere. John the bartender is the best. the music is great nd so is the food.

My friends and I frequent this establishment often. Because of this I wouldn’t write a review because I feel it would be bias.
The atmosphere is something you would see in west Hollywood but with relax beach vibe. Some might say it’s a small venue but I prefer to use intimate. The bar tenders are always on point and eager to host a great time while were are there.
I had convinced a group of my friends to leave a gay club off of holland rd to check out the oceanfront scene. I was very excited since the oceanfront is were I tend to hang out mostly. We had a run in with another customer discriminating against our group. We went to the bar to pay our tabs to avoid any unnecessary actions. The bartender who happen to be the owner saw that weren’t very pleased with how the night was playing out. After a few jokes and trying to set our moods right he empathized with us and bought us a round of shots. We all ended up purchasing a couple more drinks and even a hookah. There’s nothing bad I can say about this business. Even the owner himself made sure every single person in the lounge was having a good time.
Most of my group stayed until last call. I’m very appreciative that the owner went out of his way to show my friends that they are welcomed. I’m sure he would have hated to leave such a negative impression of a group of out of towners. Because, we are not about that life in Virginia Beach.

I kept calling the number during the weekend I was there vacationing (visited the last weekend of summer, which was the big Neptune Festival) the number kept ringing and to top it off a few times I called it sounded like someone would answer then hang out up. Not good business. Meanwhile I believe this is the only hookah lounge on Atlantic avenue. I would not come here.

My friend and I visited VA Beach for a night on the town. We were looking for a fun place to hangout. Were greeted by very friendly ladies at the front entrance so we decided to check it out. No cover is always awesome, music was great, and the all of the staff were actually pretty friendly. Ordered about 10 different drinks and they were all pretty good and decently priced as well. I definitely recommend trying the jello shots. They’re only $ 2 :)
The only negative thing I must say about this place is that the ladies room was filthy and had no tp or paper towels anywhere and that’s always a nightmare. But I would definitely come back again.

I really like the atmosphere and great variety music, mostly house and dance. Fridays and Saturdays have awesome DJs. They throw excellent events and themes. Also, take care of the bartenders because their drinks always hit the spot. Serves hookahs!

Nightclub review only
While on a mini-​vacation a group of us checked out Ry on a Saturday night to check out the VA Beach nightlife scene. I must say I enjoyed myself.
There is no cover and that is always a plus, nothing says fun like free. Also bouncers and staff were friendly by the end of the night I was outside checking IDs from other customers and the bouncers were cool with it.
Drinks were good and decently priced, all I had were shots of tequila so I can’t speak on the quality of their mixed drinks but the tequila had we right where I needed to be.
Music was good, basic hip hop but the DJ kept the party going and found a way to play all the right hits at the right time.
Bathrooms are tricky, from the outside they appear to be one person bathrooms but there are multiple toilets and urinals in the men’s room so feel free to go in there and not wait in the hall like I did for 5 minutes waiting for a stall to open that was already free.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in VA Beach and you want to have a good time after spending the day on the beach.

I went with a few of my girlfriends. I was nice drink was good. didn’t start dancing into about 11pm. But had a good time plan on going back next week

We really enjoyed our diner here. The little gal got their take on nachos (what a shock). They were pita chips with cheese tomato and sour cream. Very tasty.
Wife got the Greek salad and hummus. Some of the best hummus we’ve ever had. I got the burger special. 3drinks later, and our bill was roughly $ 40. Overall a very good experience!
