I recently went to Sonoma for a celebratory dinner with my boss and two other coworkers, and it was fabulous! Our meals were wonderful — the petite filet is like BUTTER with delicious crispy little edges. Perfection. We each had cocktails to start and a bottle of wine to split. We also asked to split up the lobster mac & cheese between the 4 of us and our server made it happen with no problem whatsoever! The desserts were super as well! Service here is wonderful; every single person you see greets you warmly and wishes you well on your way out! I will definitely be returning, hopefully with new friends to share in the experience!

I had a perfect dinner here. I am from California visiting for work and enjoyed everything here. I had the mixed green salad with tomato coulis and whipped goat cheese and garlic chips which was fresh and flavorful, followed by the filet mignon with creamed corn risotto and asparagus. The steak was done perfectly and they added goat cheese as I requested since that is obviously my favorite! The risotto was prepared exactly as I would want. I followed it with the cranberry bread pudding with butterscotch and rum raisin gelato… to die for. Highly recommend and I will be back when I am in town. Thank you to Dani for being an amazing bartender and server. Go people it’s good!

I came here for happy hour. They have a wide selection of wines. The ambiance is nice. The food I had wasn’t that good but I’d come here again and try something else on the menu.

There is nothing that I don’t like about this place! Cheese and charcuterie plate is a definite must! I recommend getting the 4 and 4! It’s a great meal in itself! Grab a great bottle of wine and you’re set! Brunch is so good as well! BLT with a fried egg and a garlic aioli spread, OMG! For dessert I recommend the Brie and Apple tart! So amazing and the perfect size to share with a nice glass of Riesling! Perfect for date night!

I thought I would give this place another chance after having a horrible experience a couple years ago. I just don’t understand why this place is still open for business… the bartender was rude as hell and she was a bitch to all her coworkers. Food was ok. Wine… I have better selection in my wine chiller at home.

I had a Groupon so we decided to go. The food was pricey though. It’s not a cheap date. Most places like this offer you bread but they charge $ 3.00 for it. The food was filling and a joy to look at. Our waitress was slow though. We were half way in our meal before we were asked how it was. She literally passed by us several times without inquiring. I left a 15 percent on the total bill but that’s it. It’s good but not great.

I will start by saying I gave it 1 less star because the menu is limited. If you are a wine connoisseur this is your place. They have no problem letting you try samples. I go here all the time and the bartenders know who I am and what I want to order. I usually get the tuna rolls which are always fresh and better than any asian restaurant I have been too. It is presented so beautifully and taste just as great. I love that they are on the a happy hour menu as it can be pricey as an appetizer. I have have a few other dishes from them as well which I love but I usually visit for the wind and tuna rolls. The ambience is beautiful and class and elegant. Great for an intimate setting for mature adults!!!

We used a groupon and had a lovely meal. I got a sort of beet and mozzarella salad that blew my mind. This was no salad. It was a huge mound of baked(fried?) cheese. Absolutely amazing vegetarian dish. My meat eating husband was jealous. We also did a cheese board and were not disappointed. The additional fixings were perfect. I especially loved the dried figs and honey. We sat out on the patio with our dogs, so I can’t speak for the atmosphere inside. People watching outside was fun.

Nice location in the mix of Virginia Beach Town Center. It’s the holidays, so sprinkles of Christmas are in full bloom. Upon arrival the staff was friendly. We were seated with minimal wait. The atmosphere gives off romance with candles and soft music. I enjoyed a glass of white Mascat wine however, my first choice was a sweet red, unfortunately they had no options. Surprisingly they specialize in wine. I ordered a salad with shrimp(3 to be exact) it was tasty but not very filling. My fiancé ordered a steak medium well, let’s say it was really well done and dry. This place has potential, however the food is in need of an upgrade to match the high prices…

Excellent food. Imaginative menu expertly prepared. The staff is attentive without hovering. Very good wine list, knowledgeable staff who can help anyone find a wine to suit their tastes. Sitting out on their patio in Town Center watching the world go by with a great red wine makes for a delightful evening.

Today was my first time visiting and the service was impeccable. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We did a wine tasting and lunch. You received a piece of paper with the wines you would be try, where they’re from, and what the wine is like. After the tasting you could buy the wine or wines you liked by the bottle or by glass. The restaurant gives off a vibe that you can dress casually to visit during the day, but you may want to dress up a bit at night.

I stopped in for«happy hour» but not much was happy about it. The décor was really pretty and the wine was fine but that’s about where the good things end. The happy hour menu was pretty short and nothing really seemed appetizing. The place was pretty empty and the staff all seemed pretty bored. At one point I saw a staff member cleaning already clean cups. While I was leaving the place I noticed a small leak from the ceiling, I alerted the staff and she not only blew it off but was like«yea I know». Umm I don’t care what’s causing it you may not want your restaurant leaking on customers. Since I didn’t order food I don’t have much to base the review off of but on ambiance alone, I wasn’t impressed.

Note: We did not order entrees. We only had dessert and wine. Called ahead to see if the patio was dog friendly. They said yes, so off we went. Service was impeccable! They even brought a bowl of water for our dog. Wine was great and dessert was great. We will be back!

Came in for lunch last Friday. They have an awesome happy hour noon until around 6p! Their fruit Moscato is amazing! What’s NOT so amazing is. we only came because the menu says they have bread pudding. in which they did not, what they had was(cold) banana bread. this news saddened me I would’ve left but I’d already eaten(Chicken Cesar salad) which was also a disappointment, the salad was plated horribly!(Please see photo) the Romain lettuce was cut in half only once resulting in huge leaves I could barely pick up with a fork and felt like a cow trying to chew… and the dressing. under the lettuce. I guess everybody wants to be different no matter how rediculous it is. ** I would like to add: The salad as well as the banana bread had potential to be great. with a few tweaks here, a few tweaks there… anything is possible.

Sonoma has always provided an awesome experience. The staff is friendly and has accommodated all my visits. I’ve been here for a ladies’ lunch, work lunch, friend’s surprise birthday dinner, VB Restaurant Week and I’ve organized a happy hour for the Young Filipino Professionals. The food is delicious. I love the cheese board and the wine! It’s pricey, so I don’t get to eat here often. It’s a cozy spot in the heart of Town Center.

Great spot for a date night! Food: Small portion but delicious. Also beautiful! Interior: Cool! Good taste. Relaxing. Romantic at night. Staff: Friendly and sophisticated. Price: Up to how much you usually eat. Lunch $ 10 – 20. Dinner is up to how much wine you wanna drink! Parking Lot: There are many in a walking distance. Free outside parking.

Excellent service by Wes! He was attentive, knowledgable and everything one could ask for in a dining experience. I always enjoy Sonoma for wine and appetizers and have never been let down for the quality of their meals. The beef is grass fed(as opposed to Ruth Chris’s corn fed beef…) and creatively prepared by the chef. I just wish the food was warm. Everything was cold.

This place was awesome! Aaron, our server had impeccable knowledge of the wines. The ‘wine tap’ at the bar was cool because you could get a fresh glass of wine. If you are in Town Center just go in and check out the taps and get a glass of wine. The food was really good too! The crabcakes were flawless! The surf and turf special was really tasty. The scallops app. was majestical! Malbec I had by the glass was super special, it had a ‘smokey’ flavor that was surprising and pleasing at the same time. I definitely suggest to go here. I would request Aaron to be my server.

–4.5 stars– My guy did a wonderful job of surprising me with dinner here! Once inside, I couldn’t help but notice the pretty makeshift fireplace like area of lights and crates by the sitting area. Quite cozy and chic ambiance. We sat at the high tables and got to check out the wine bar — spouts of of wines. Ooh la la! For starters, we ordered a sweet potato soup with bacon bits. Quite tasty, especially with the bacon of course. I will say that I like my soup a little more runny versus what we had. It seemed more of a purée for me, but that’s just being nitpicky. We also ordered a white flight of wines that included 3 glasses of wine. All were good and we enjoyed pairing them with our meals. Entrees. I ordered the pretzel encrusted salmon and he ordered the almond encrusted scallops. Both were A-MAZING! I love my salmon on the saltier side, plus it came with cubed sweet potatoes as a nice salty and sweet combination. I had to split it with my guy since he loved it just as much. His almond encrusted scallops were so tasty. With both dishes, you get to enjoy that crust! A half star off only since it did take a while for the food to actually get to us. But with food like this, I can’t really complain. My guy chose well to surprise me with this place!
