On a Saturday late afternoon/evening, the place wasn’t too busy, easily grabbed seats at the bar. The place started to pick up traffic around almost 8pm and I usually go there late night. They have happy hour till 7pm on Saturday. $ 1 off all beers. Ordered beers and nachos. Their nachos was pretty good. Ordered Smartmouth Beer, O’Connors, strongbow, crown apple and sprite. It was pretty chill for a Saturday. The bartenders were great & attentive.

Way too loud. The servers can’t even communicate with each other. Loud music is okay, but I can’t hear myself talk. It’s not enjoyable. Maybe I’m just getting old. The service is good. There wasn’t a wait.

Wish they never changed owners. I will only drink here because the food isn’t like it use to be. Always enjoy sitting on the patio and my regular servers are always so bubbly and sweet! Sal the Bartender(previous known as Sal the Barback) is our favorite! GOSAL!!!

Keagan’s… You have seen so many times that I might not remember and it could be due to the awesome Happy Hours. But seriously, this place is great, a pretty big bar. There are plenty of times, my business has held dinners here or a pack of us have come for«after work» drinks. The point is, they can accommodate big parties, and that’s a big plus. It’s super affordable and the food isn’t bad, on Monday’s they have a burger special, that’s not bad at all. I would go for the Pretzel Burger, or the Crab-cake burger. With some other foods, I’ve had hiccups. And sometimes during lunch time, what you thought would be a quick in and out, turns out to be a loooong lunch, because service is slow and the cooks are slower. Again, the Happy Hours and how this place attracts some pretty attractive people is the big plus.

Good service. Beware of «Happy Hour.» There are no Happy Hour appetizers FYI. They just have specials on drinks. Overall, service was great. My party and I were greeted upon entering the establishment. Only complaint was the she crab soup. I love she crab soup, but there’s was not good and it usually is! It tasted sour like there was sour cream in there. The manager was nice about it, and took it off my bill.

Food service was slow. I ordered the following: She Crab soup — too salty, too much Old Bay seasoning, but good amount of crab(only good thing about it) Fish and Chips — Fish tasted like it was frozen and it was overcooked and chewy/tough. The chips(aka fries) weren’t great either. My wife ordered the crab cakes. Unlike my she crab soup, the crab cakes didn’t seem to have any crab in them. It was mostly filler. Also, the sauce was salty and spicy. This place was a huge disappointment.

Honestly, don’t expect much of the food. It’s not bad but underwhelming. I’ve never had bad service here but it can be on the slow side, sometimes. There’s something to be said for the atmosphere, however. My husband and I come in here frequently with friends and always have a good time.

4 stars for the ambiance and food– This place is fun! I had the half order of fish ‘n chips for lunch and it was a full fillet! As in half a fish! Really really good since the batter was light and the fish was very flaky. The Guinness draft was ice cold(ehhh…) but poured perfectly. I also saw the Shepard’s Pie and though I didn’t have any it looked really great. Nice stone type decoration and they were doing construction inside when I was there so it’ll probably be even better in a month or two. Good times !

Came here on a Friday after work with a friend expecting to get food and drinks for happy hour. I had read a bunch of reviews saying how good the happy hour was for both drinks and food. So we come in, expecting to see a great happy hour, it was pretty much the opposite of that, also the place was nearly empty. They didn’t have any food specials and they had $ 1 off drafts, and $ 212oz Bud Lights which isn’t even that good of a deal in my opinion. So we talked it over and decided to stay because we were interested in trying the food. Nothing really stood out to me that I HAD to try, since it was 4 in the afternoon I didn’t want a huge dinner entrée, so I opted for a sandwich. I got the fish sandwich, which was pretty good, but a little on the greasy side, but the fries were really good. I think I may come back to try their other food, but I’m not too sure. We’ll see.

Hey, went to Keegans tonight to smoke a cigar. Had to get a drink at the front bar because the back had no server the time was 4:40 5:00 rolled around asked a young male with shorts to get me a drink he said sure…5:30…still no drink. 5:40 i headed out the door and i saw the young man at the front bar working. I adked him what happened, his excuse was shift change… a bogus lie… His main attention when he came on shift at 5 was on a guy who seemed to be mentally challenged… poor service and i know the owner would not appreciate the amount of money he lost by me leaving.

Had a good lunch at Keagan’s today. I ordered the tuna wrap lunch special… And so did my two lunch companions. The wrap itself was delicious, cooked as requested, rare, and filled the majority of the wrap. We all requested a special aioli that took a bit to get to us but it was very delicious. A good addition to both my wrap and fries. A good visit to one of my old stomping grounds.

Stopped in today for a few drinks and a pint, had i known it was ½ to st patricks day would have gone elsewhere. Got in about 2 ish light crowd and wife and i went to the main bar. The music from the solo performer was LOUD so moved to the other side in the small corner not much help as he was amplified i guess through out the place. Drinks were good the food Baked pretzels the calamari were great, service was spotty the main bartender was working both sides and his helper(i guess) would not make eye contact with us but did serve others. While we struggled to hear our selves talk over the singers pretty lousy vocals we looked around the amount of dirt/mold who knows on the ac vents over the bar area ummm yuck. We will go back but will skip when they are having a live band seriously does not need to be over the whole place.

Have been here for lunch before and knew they have good lunch specials and decided to come here with a friend. Walked inside and waited a few minutes before a hostess greeted me. Once I was greeted by a hostess, I asked to have a table outside, hostess walks us out to a table and that was it. A waitress never came out to greet us or even take drink orders. My friend and I sat outside talking for at least 15 minutes, so we just got up and left.

I’ve been here several times and I can say that it’s an enjoyable place with good food, live music sometimes, and their drinks are pretty reasonable. The atmosphere is laid back and casual dress located in Town centre. The employees all seem up beat, pleasant and helpful if you have any questions. This is even on a full night like last night. Great job Keagans! I give them four dazzling shamrocks!

Very friendly pub/restaurant. Staff is very friendly as are the regulars at the bar. The bar has many options on tap, several mor in bottles, and then we go into rhe qines and hard alcohol selections– so many choices, just one liver. I was going to go for the fish and chips, but was advised that it was very large. Given the town is full of young folks doing their military service, large portions make sense. So I went for the smaller Bangers and mash. Presentation was great, flavor was even better.

Coming in on a Friday night, you expect it to be crowded and busy, so the slow service wouldn’t be that much of a problem if you were an understanding person. However, that was not the case one Friday night. I had come in to town to visit some friends, and with the long wait at Yard House, we decided to walk over to Keagan’s. When we requested a table, they told us it would be about two minutes, so we went to the bar to wait. About 15 minutes later, my friend walked over to the hostess and she sat us at a booth. When we got seated, we realized we weren’t given menus for food or drink. After 20 minutes, our waitress came over to finally give us menus. It took maybe another 15 minutes for her to come back and to take our orders. Long story short, our waitress displayed some pretty poor service. Granted, she was nice, for the most part. But it shouldn’t take us 20 minutes after being seated to get menus, and we shouldn’t have to wait another 20 minutes for drinks when there’s only 6 of us. She would also never come in to check on our table; we would have to constantly wave her down to get her attention in order to get her to come to our table. Now, granted, if the place was busy I would be more understanding. However, it wasn’t that crowded at all. I also noticed the waitress just standing around most of the time. A little tip, if you want a big tip, engage with your table and make sure they’re taken care of. If the table has to constantly wave you down in an uncrowded restaurant, you don’t deserve a big tip. The shrimp & chips are delicious, though.

We’ve been patrons of Keagan for many years. The charter of the founder was more than hollow platitudes. However the quality and value over the last year or two have declined. And the hope of turning it around with new owners seems to have been dashed with this latest visit. Against my intuition, the wife wanted to go for the Mother’s Day Brunch. We’ve tried in the past with good luck… not so much this time. We’ll I mean not so much luck or food quality. the price was just shy of $ 19 per. the salad bar was pathetic and the chaffing dish food was warm, not hot. the French Toast biscuits and other bread product I. the chaffing dishes were old and hard texture. And the pastries and other baked goods were clearly bought elsewhere and brought in. in fact the seemed to be the cheapest they could find. service was fine… what is not to like about a wound waitress in knee socks and tartan mini skirt. something tells me Keagan’s is has been and will never recover it’s former glory. definitely a pass on this for restaurants. Maybe they’ll have better luck serving cheap drinks like so many other bars.

This is Virginia Beach’s version of Tilted Kilt… but more PG rated. If you’re in the Va Beach area, this bar is in the heart of the area… it’s one of only a few out there. Plenty of beers on tap. They have 2 for 1 appetizers during happy hour. Came here twice during my 1 week stay… mostly for the eye candy.

I usually come here for lunch only because the weekend night crowds can get a little overwhelming. The service I have had is always spot on. The food is typical pub food but is pretty good. Despite it being in a shopping area they have a good group of regular customers and a good vibe. It is a very friendly restaurant.
