Just a quick update. I have been contacted by the fine folks at The Armory and been advised that they don’t charge the credit premium any longer. I am heartened to know that there are businesses that care enough to reach out to clear the air. I am also glad to hear that isn’t the case. Although I am no longer in the market presently for anything, that won’t keep me from going in to a solid, long standing, local vendor and give them the opportunity again! Happy Unilocaling.

Just left this place of business and will never return stood around for 20 minutes waiting on help to look at a Kimber 1911 the employees would not even acknowledge me. All elder employees for exception of one guy mid 30’s from Texas guess they didn’t like my flat brim hat and didn’t want to service me oh well you lost a customer for life.

I ordered 3 products off of their website. I received an email a week later saying my billing address was wrong on my card and that it was declined. I called them to give them the correct address and straightened it out. At that time they said the products would ship out right away. I was charged that day. Two weeks went by and I still didn’t receive my products. I called them again and somehow they just totally forgot to mail me my stuff! No sorry or apology over the phone either. That is unacceptable for a business. I should have just canceled the order after two weeks of nothing…

Their website states: «Our Motto: Friendly and Affordable!» Yeah, right! I have been, or should I say WAS, a customer of The Armory for the past five years. I’ve transferred guns, bought weapons, supplies, parts and ammo, but that all changed yesterday when I received what is the worst customer service yet. Yes, they have been less than communicative in the past and short on customer service, but mostly from the elderly staff. The owner was preparing to leave the store, but noticed I was poking about and asked if I needed assistance. I inquired about a price on bulk ammo on the floor since there wasn’t a tag or sign displaying the price, and he asked one of his employees to assist. This employee, may we call him Jeff?, tapped a couple of times at his computer display and couldn’t find a price. I showed him what BulkAmmo.Com had the cased ammo going for to which he remarked, «That’s a great price!» After that I was ignored even when I asked if they could even come close to this price. I’m one to support the local dealers, but after this rude SOB turned away and started talking about adult wild hog weights with another gentleman I got the sense I was no longer going to be seeing customer service. I shoot more than 1000rnds a month, reload when I can find powder, build long rifles and am a NRA Life Member. I will not patron The Armory again, and I will ensure the word is passed that this store doesn’t earn our business. The military/veteran community of Hampton Roads can have a devastating effect of how a business behaves. Maybe a few more voices can change theirs!

My boyfriend picked out a gun for his birthday that we couldn’t find in stores. The Armory was the only place that would order it for us and didn’t price gauge us in the process. When we went in to put a down payment on the gun, they were all very friendly and attentive. Even got me interested in a compact Sig P938 that I might have to go back for! On top of all that, they got the gun we ordered in under a week and called us the day it came in! Definitely a new favorite!

The armory is 1 of the closest gun/ammo stores near me. Staff are helpful but sometimes don’t have info or details about some of my questions. store is a bit cramped. The have a fun guns that caught my attention remington nitro mag and the HKUSC but I mainly go here for ammo. .38 spl, .357 magnum and .308win. always had the ammo i needed. prices are fair compared to others.

Awesome selection, slightly cramped inside, but decent prices. Was asked multiple times if I needed assistance throughout my buying experience. Questions were answered fairly blunt and short, yes, no, these guns aren’t similar, with minimal extra detail or value added regardless of the fact that the company associate was the expert in the room. Great selection and decent prices, a little short on customer service
