The Pizzeria

I ordered for pickup through Unilocal app which used Eatstreet. I paid, went to the restaurant, and was charged again by the restaurant. Wtf? I emailed Eatstreet because I thought maybe I wasn’t charged and just ordered through them. Eatstreet was very prompt with the response and credited my card and apologized that I was charged by the restaurant again.
Why would this establishment, who must have some sort of contract with or knowledge of this service, charge me when I picked up the order?
I should’ve asked, I just figured that I mistakingly thought I was charged by Eatstreet and wasn’t. Shame on me for thinking of the restaurant instead of myself.

Great staff has my favorite NY style pepperoni and mushroom pizza! Fresh smells from the kitchen along with grubhub app make this a great place to stop by after a long day at work!

Ok so wherever I live, I always try to find the best pizza place in town. Chanellos was the place four years ago. Recently discovered pembroke pizza but they’re pizza was only good when I dined in. This place has awesome pizza! This is my place needless to say. We will be back! I always carry out my pizza because I’m not lazy enough for delivery so I cannot speak for that part of the business but the wait time was only 15 minutes for two 18″ pizzas. Kudos to this business!!!

I can’t speak for their other menu items, but the pepperoni pizza is superb! You can tell they use good quality ingredients, as the cheese is fantastic. The crust is exactly how I like it: not thick and too chewy, but also not too thin and crispy. Sauce is on point as well: not too sweet or tart, not over-​oreganoed (yup made that word up). Also, it’s not over-​sauced, a big pet peeve of mine. I’m sticking with 4 stars until I explore the menu a bit and order a few more times to verify consistency. I’d much rather have this than papa john’s or dominoes.

I rarely go out of my way to write a bad review but this was just terrible. The only positive thing I have to say is that the delivery man was super nice. I had the buffalo chicken pizza. The doe is hard and thin, pretty flavorless. There was no chicken on my pizza, didn’t even have an ounce of buffalo flavor or ranch all I could taste was bacon. When I called them I talked to the manager and everyone was just plain rude. I’m never ordering there again.

The pizza is actually very good, and up until tonight, it was my go-​to place. I ordered online at 7pm. At 8:15pm I called the pizzeria because my delivery hadn’t arrived yet. The person on the phone said, «Yeah, sorry, we’re very busy. we put it in the oven… should be out the door in 10 minutes.» I asked them to cancel the order and before I can even finish the sentence, the person hung up the phone on me. It’s unfortunate; rudeness lost my business.

This place used to be good. But lately the pizzas are very greasy and the crust/​doe is very hard an sometimes burnt, and they are stingy with toppings. The pizzas lack flavor, all I taste is grease. Wish their pizzas would go back to how they used to be… thick bread, lots of cheese and ingredients, and full of flavor. But unfortunately that’s not the case anymore. Need to find a consistently good pizza place in Hampton roads, that is my mission!
Prices are a bit on the pricey side but you get full off these greasy pizza slices.

Great! Quick, cheap, delicious pizza. 2 – 4 is a dollar a slice I think. Love this local business and would highly recommend.

A couple of a friends and I tried to go here for lunch on a Friday afternoon, when we arrived there there was a sign on the door the said «be back in 10 minutes thanks management». We waited in the parking lot for about 20 minutes waiting on another friend to arrived. They didn’t return in the 20 minutes that we waited so we went somewhere else. I thought this was really bad business the be closed during lunch on a Friday.

Just called to ask about a special that my wife had gotten a couple of weeks ago. The young man was unfortunately rude and wanted me to go to a third party website. From an independent business I would expect more than a young guy being short with return customers. Not sure if I’ll return. Big frown from this anti corporate consumer.

Sorry to see some of the reviews on here but our family loves the pizza and we’ve been fans ever since our first bite. Owner very personable and aims to please. So we usually ask for the crust to be cooked a little longer for crispness. And love it! The specials are great! We are happy that they’re in the neighborhood.

They apparently do not want my business. I went there during the business hours posted on their menu and learned that they had unilaterally changed the opening time from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. So later that day, I placed a sizable order for delivery — again per their literature and web site. I was told that delivery was unavailable. I then attempted to reach them on their chat line — and the line was closed. I tried email and there was no reply until the next day. I cancelled the order and went to my old stand-​by that delivers great pizza and sincerely want my business.

My wife and I ordered their Deluxe pizza and it was pretty tasty. The crust was light and had a good flavor along with the loads of toppings on the pizza itself. The guy who took my order was friendly and the pizza came out in the time that he gave me. Although the pizza didn’t WOW me, it was still good enough that’ll make me want to come back.

Sad to say had high hopes for a local place, garlic knots were dry and bland. The pizza was just so so no spice want to say it needed salt not enough parm in the house to help it. Probably won’t go back good pizza still needed in the Haygood area

The pizza was very good. We had a cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, and buffalo chicken pizza. The only thing I would have changed was adding a buffalo sauce to the buffalo chicken pizza with a ranch drizzle instead just using a ranch sauce with no buffalo drizzle. We will definitely make The Pizzeria our go to choice.

I checked this new place out after seeing some great Unilocal.I wish that I was as excited about it as others, but understand everyone has a different opinion of what great pizza is. This was by far not close to what I would call great pizza.
The location is not ideal since it is so far off the beaten path beside Taylors Do it Center. However, regulars would become accustom to finding it. The huge sign most certainly lends itself to new customers being able to locate them.
Parking will not be an issue, but keep in mind there is designated parking for the catering business beside them. The lot and sidewalk was clear. The exterior of the building is like a Cape Cod home with it signature dormers. I found it quaint and inviting.
I was immediately greeted by owner Matt who could not have been nicer and gave me basic info on the business and plans to open an new store under another name with a partner on Rosemont. The front area was clean and a few chairs were around for waiting customers. There is no indoor dining room. This is strictly take out/​pick up joint. However, if you just cannot wait, they do have a picnic table just outside their front door for outdoor dining.
I order the special 14 inch pizza with unlimited toppings for $ 10. This was a great deal and I was excited to try them out. The ordering is done an iPad like many other new businesses are going to. The pizza was promised in 15 minutes. The pie maker in the back waved and was friendly too!
Matt’s family was around and looked liked they stopped in to see him. His little daughter offered me a red/​white/​blue snow cone while I wait. I thought this was adorable. We chatted a bit and I found everyone to be easy to talk with and obviously wanting to earn new business.
My order was up in less than 15 minutes and smoking hot. I arrived home within 10 minutes and popped it open and began to plate for the family. The kids quickly said they did not care for the sauce on their pepperoni. I had a pepperoni, sausage, bacon and had to agree the sauce seemed off. the crust is thin and chewy. For some this would be a plus, however I prefer crisp. While others reviews said no grease, my had more than enough and even upset my stomach later in the evening.
This will not be my go to pizza place, but I hope that I do not discourage others from trying The Pizzeria. I need to give them another shot in the near future. They are definitely working hard to earn new business and could not have been nicer on my visit.

Excellent pizza!
We just went in on a saturday afternoon– they had a 10 $ 14 inch pizza– any number of toppings– SCORE! Joe patiently took our order and we chatted while Sean (?) made our pizza. Everyone was so friendly and our order was ready in under 15 min! The Pizzeria is a small location with 2 tables (mainly a to-​go/​delivery place). Delivery is free with a 10 $ min.
Pizza– Our kitchen sink pizza (a ridiculous amount of toppings) was AWESOME. The crust was light, cheese was enough and pizza wasn’t too oily. Only thing i would change, is the crust. It was good, but could have been a bit crispier (ill ask them to keep mine in the oven longer) :). They sell standard pizzeria foods + local cheesecake from the caterer beside them. They’ve only been open 10 weeks, and i wont be surprised if this little place picks up pace, real fast.

I found a great local pizza place! The pizza is really good, a nice light, thin crust with just the right amount of chew. The pizza sauce is mild (not over seasoned with garlic and oregano) with the sweetness of the tomatoes coming through and really yummy cheeses. We got a half Hawaiian and half deluxe, it was very good, great flavors and no grease and the mozzarella sticks were also very good, light crispy breading and again no grease. The staff was very friendly and provided wonderful service. This is mostly a take out place with a full menu with pasta, sandwiches and salads, they also deliver. They also sell by the slice. The Pizzeria is well worth giving it a try

They’ve added a second location in Va Beach that’s every bit as good as the original location in Norfolk. Check them out! They’re easy to miss and located in the little strip shops on the right hand side of the Taylor’s Do It Center on Independence.
