Just went to their new all you can eat lunch. $ 11.99. I enjoy their sushi but the service has in the past been a bit lacking. I was sure there would be a catch: small portions, limited menu or slow service. I was wrong. They had a decent selection and the sushi was fast and unlimited as they said. Good experience and even an improvement on the service overall

Lunch earlier with my husband it was our first time there it was really good! I got the fire cracker roll and volcano roll very good. Husband got spicy yellow tail roll and lion king roll I tried them and they where good too. Very romantic atmosphere. Staff was friendly and waitress was attentive… not too much not too little… was there when needed. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars I nice the floor where dirty, bits of food and some napkins under tables. They defiantly need to simply sweep. But had a great lunch date with my husband. Bill came to $ 38 avg.

Not as good as misako, but since they do take out orders, we end up using them more often. Friendly and helpful staff, super polite, and the food is always ready super fast! Sushi is pretty good, but nothing outstanding. If you wanna make it worth your buck, get one of the lunch boxes as portions are pretty satisfactory.

One of my favorite spots when I visit home, here in Virginia Beach. I’ve been a fan of this place since they opened, mainly for the affordable sushi and lunch options. My most recent visit(1÷30÷16) was pleasant, I ordered a plate of sashimi, along with a Volcano Roll, which was always my favorite. The sashimi tasted fresh and clean, it came with a side of miso soup, so for ~$ 13, it’s was not too bad. Volcano Rolls seem to differ depending on which sushi places you go to, but the one that Fire Ninja offers is the deep fried one, which is my favorite kind. Fire Ninja prices theirs at $ 7.50, which is around the same price than other sushi joints, so I’d definitely recommend it if someone is looking for that sinfully delicious, spicy mayo topped, deep fried maki. I haven’t tried any of their entrees or other dishes; the menu is incredibly vast and sometimes difficult to read sometimes since the whole menu is in Papyrus, so most of the time nothing really catches my eye. I mainly just scour the sushi or lunch part of the menu since that’s the main thing I come here for. The restaurant is usually half empty when I go, which is kind of a good thing since it’s quiet, but I know some folks worry about the state of a business if it’s not full of a ton of people. All in all, decent Asian fusion restaurant with a variety of options, decently priced sushi and friendly staff. I’ll be visiting again in the future as usual!

Sushi isn’t bad but it’s nothing worth picking over every other sushi place. It’s actually a little more expensive compared to other sushi places. If you use the groupon — don’t sit with another couple who is using it as well because you can’t use more than one, even if it’s seperate checks. Go down the street in town center for sushi!

Okay, so it’s been a few years and I’ve purposely avoided this place but when Santa gives you a gift card you must use it. The lady and I were starving so we came in order several items. — Tofu appetizer — I don’t recall how this was describe on the menu. If you know me well, you know I would never order tofu. This was actually pretty good. The outside of the tofu was crunchy. Not bad to be honest. Red meat is still my #1 option though. — Edamame — one really cannot mess this up. These didn’t taste bad but they certainly didn’t look tasty or fresh. — Malaysian fried rice — YUM! We had chicken added to this. I like how there was a little kick with this dish. — Super duper roll — the fried oysters were a nice touch. A six piece serving that was generous in size. — Kill Bill roll — this was a combination of salmon, avocado, and seaweed. This was pretty good. — Salmon sashimi — fresh and cold. Our waitress was fairly attentive and friendly. A couple things that were bothersome: 1) our table wasn’t fully clean upon arrival and 2) one of the bathroom sinks wasn’t working and there didn’t post a ‘not working’ sign. The sink was a little dirty and I approached it to wash my hands. Had there been a sign I would have saved the minor ‘oh shoot I may lose my appetite that sink is nasty and dirty’ and ignored it for the other sink(which thankfully was clean).

Always stopped at this restaurant for sushi when I last lived in the area. That being said, I stopped by for the first time in over 3.5 years. Always had great service and food and this time was no exception. The only issue I noticed is the parking at this establishment shares parking with numerous other restaurants in the same location. I’ll be back again!

You know I’m all about a deal and this little spot was inspired by my groupon alert. My sister and I came in for lunch to use my groupon before it expired and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks on the inside. We were seated as we glanced at the lunch specials sign. Our server was ok. Nothing special. We looked at the extensive menu and decided on the lunch box. It’s only $ 7.95 and includes your choice of to entrees, the house salad, your choice of miso or hot and sour soup and rice(brown or white). I picked two shrimp tempura rolls and my sis picked the shrimp tempura roll and volcano roll. We also ordered an appetizer of crab and cream cheese wontons. The food came out pretty quick(10 minutes or so) and its a lot! Yay! I like to get full. Ok The box was super delicious. The wontons were. Ehhh. Ok. Needs less cream cheese more crab. We finished up and got ready to pay only to find out u could only use the groupon at dinner !!! If only I’d known. So any who that means I have to come back in the next 6 days after 3:30. The food was good, nice atmosphere, not a bad lunch choice at all.

Sooo let me just start with this … A sushi place where a majority of the seafood was either not fresh or imitation crab and let get started with the $ 5 avocado salad that was literally half a sliced avocado over shredded lettuce without and seasoning whatsoever

Can’t believe this experienced happened after going to This place a few times over the years I can say I’m never going back. Walked in, was not greeted, sat ourselves at bar, dining area was a mess. Took us flagging down s server to get service oh btw there was only 1 other set of customers in here and plenty of employees. Service was slow, place was dirty, servers were just hanging out, music playing was heavy metal very loudly, when I asked them to change it they told me to go behind the bar and change iPod myself. Told the staff our experience was not good, and they could care less. So see Ya fire ninja.

First time here. They have the best sashimi salad; a bit pricey though. I also had philly roll, and their sushi rice was really good. Beef fried rice was good also; the beef in it was tender and tasty. Salmon teriyaki was good, but the veggies that came with it were cooked perfectly. Love this place.

Overall good but I think the sushi is overpriced. I used the groupon to save a little extra. Good service, though!

The food was very disappointing. I ordered the Chinese ribs and I asked in how many I would get– 9! was the answer. I guess I should have clarified on how big it was because they were tiny. For a dish that is close to $ 20– I figured it would be filling. The sushi that my daughter ordered wasn’t as fresh as she was used to. For someone who loves sushi– she didn’t finish her meal. My wife’s salmon dish was lacking also. A truly disappointing meal. One would think that after spending close to $ 90 the meal would be at a minimum satisfying. This was not even close. Service was OK– for a place that wasn’t busy– we still had to wait for our drinks to be filled. We will not be coming back to this place.

We arrived there at a good time. Right before the dinner rush. The service was great and the food was even better. It was my wife’s birthday and she absolutely loved her Tuna Carpaccio. Tuna was VERY fresh. All ingredients were very fresh for that matter. I had Mu-shu Chicken. Loved it! My youngest had the Grilled Salmon and my other two daughters had Walnut Chicken and Pork Katsu. All gone. Great portions and decent prices. They also have a very nice Sushi Bar. Great place and we will definitely be back. Oh and my wife got a slice of cheese cake for her 39th+ birthday. ;)

Friendly staff, nice place with a good location… However… Low grade sushi… The tuna is not marbled what so ever and just not as good as it should be… This place is prime for location and lunch specials but they need to set the standards a little higher… A lot higher in fact… This place looks too fancy to have such cheap sushi. The volcano roll was alright… Not warm at all like it should be… I won’t be coming here again… A for effort though!!!

Snatched up the groupon and took my niece and nephew(and their parents) out for a treat. We were STARVING! I caught Lola F.‘s review declaring the Cali Dynamite and Tiki Fire were bomb. She wasn’t lying! We ordered 5 rolls: both listed above plus the Luna, Volcano and Kill Bill. We got yakisoba for the kids and a final order of veggie tempura. The sushi is very good and well presented. The fish is very fresh and the place looks nice(full bar, nice lighting, comfy booths.) I withhold a star because all the sushi is «Americanized» — which means most of it is fried and all of it is covered in sauces. Just because I’m a white girl doesn’t mean I need spicy mayo on everything! I figure the clientele expects Americanized sushi and this place aims to please the crowds. Which is cool. The Luna roll was the healthiest option, and the Volcano, fried and dripping in sirracha and spicy mayo, was delicious in a chicken nugget heart attack kinda way ;-) The food was good and the groupon made a sushi dinner for a family of 5 pretty affordable. Hopefully my sister will bring the kids back here once I go back to LA.

Came here with a hungry rating of 5, had to get something for dinner and working on the sushi sensei badge, so what the heck. There was no wait, and the people were friendly greeting us and getting us to a table. I think the owner/manager may be a young man that was all over the place. He literally was going to the back, the sushi bar, greeting guests, and what I didn’t think he needed to do, micromanage the waitress we had. She was nice, but it he was all over what she was doing. Maybe she was new, but regardless, he was telling her to do this and do that, and at the expense of the customers I understand, but she wasn’t doing a bad job at all. For what we got, which was calamari, steak and chicken, and two sushi rolls, I think after eating it seemed over priced. And that’s why I’m giving them two stars. For the amount we paid our bill, should have been a little better, seemed like the quality of food was the same at any Hawaiian BBQ fast food joint if you asked me. Quickly fried, kinda rubbery chicken, sushi rolls tasted good, calamari was okay. Liked the atmosphere, didn’t like the booth, kinda forced you to really sit upright, but this was okay.

We have been several times, and I haven’t been disappointed. Service can be a little slow and timing of appetizers/rolls was off when the restaurant is busy. I’ve visited later in the evening as well, with only a few tables. We received good service then. The sushi is good, but the rolls are VERY rice heavy. We also enjoyed the seaweed salad and shumai. Will definitely return.
