Great staff. Weird sushi. Not my kind of sushi. Everything had something weird in it. I think they are trying to be different and to a certain palate they may pull it off(especially if you like mango on your rolls). The few I found appealing were good though.

I have been here twice in about a month now and I can say with 100% certainty that this is the best tasting sushi I have ever had in my life. To some, that may be some fighting words but it is 100% true. Came here with fellow Unilocaler, Laura Li, AKA bae for valentine’s day dinner and it was a perfect place to go. On this visit, we got 6 oysters three ways: ceviche, chili infused diakon with ponzu sauce. The oysters were delicious and clean. We also got the volcano bowl again because the first time we had it, it was very tasty and it didn’t disappoint this time either, it’s a perfectly medley of chopped tuna with Japanese pickles with a special spicy sauce that all tastes great together. Next we got the special of the day, Churtoro Nigiri, which is fatty tuna and more pink in color. This was the BEST tasting sushi I have ever had in my entire life. It was super smooth, fresh, and almost melted in your mouth. You will not regret getting this(although it was expensive. $ 14 for two nigiri pieces but so worth it). Our service has always been stellar here. Our waitress was the same both times(I think her name is Christine. but not sure). She is highly knowledgeable about the menu and provides outstanding service. Combine great sushi, awesome service and a romantic date night atmosphere and you get a winning combination and a repeat customer. Please go to Zushi now and get their Churtoro!!!

Update: went back tonight. Was just as tasty. Our server Anna was incredible! Ask for her! Very good! The only negative was that the table behind us had toddlers and we’re playing a movie(loudly) on a phone. Service was great. I ordered the spicy pork bowl — was not on the menu but I saw it mentioned on a review and asked for it. It was a hit! Cucumber martini was awesome. The Zushi soup was on point.

The fish is so fresh and the prices are so great! I have not shut up about this place since trying it so my husband entertained me and we went for dinner. For 6 simple rolls, an order of gyoza, and 2 sweet teas, our bill was $ 48. Not bad at all. We had the Spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, zushi roll, spicy salmon roll, philly, and eel and avacado. Everything was prepared freshly. The rice to filling ratio was perfect! I liked the wasabi, not that powder stuff! The zushi roll is one of our favorites. On my pervious visits, I had the salmon roll and the scallop roll, it melted in my mouth, so delish! The gyoza was fine, nothing special. The oysters 3 ways is also great, I liked the ponzu one the best. The service is amazing! I noticed the standard of service is uniform among the servers which makes me so happy. Right on, Zushi! They are very attentive, polite, friendly, professional, I wish I could experience service like this everywhere. Counting the days to my return :)

Zushi has all the components for a wonderful meal — friendly staff, delicious food, and a quiet, romantic setting in the heart of Town Center. I have yet to order something that isn’t fresh and perfectly seasoned. Our favorite is the Volcano Bowl — sashimi, greens, sushi rice, seaweed salad, daikon radish mixed with their kochujan sauce. This is what the kids would call, «on fleek» It’s perfectly portioned so you taste every ingredient in each bite. Yum! On our most recent visit, we tried the oysters 3 ways which a great way to start the meal. My favorite was the one topped with ceviche! Also tried the fatty tuna nigiri which was one of their special of the day. If this is available, do yourself a favor and GETIT! Melts in your mouth :) I love, love coming to Zushi and can always count on a great meal here!

Zushi is my second favorite sushi place. They have a swanky atmosphere but it’s not snobby. My favorite rolls are the pink lady and Mt Trashmore, the sea urchin sashimi is delicious as well. They get very busy on the weekends so definitely make a reservation.

We were looking for a sushi place while walking around town. We came across zushi, and decided to try it out. We were pleasantly surprised! Great atmosphere and the food was great too. Would definitely come back.

Stopped by here since I was in the neighborhood. I enjoyed my experience, but I prefer a bit less fancy sushi. Zushi is quite nice and goes above the standard here at town center. Everything is presented quite beautifully too. I want to commend my waitress, who was beyond amazing and gracious. I wish she could have filled my drink a little faster, but I think those blue glasses are hard to see into. As for my food, it was presented nicely. I thought the rice on the bottom of the Chirashi was intended to be decorative, or just really stingy. My cucumber salad was a bit dry and the mackeral in my dinner wasn’t the freshest. Price isn’t that much more than a typical sushi restaurant.

This is my go-to place for sushi in Virginia. Excellent quality. The sushi is always fresh and the customer service is unparalleled. I always get the«Hot Mama» and Eel Avocado Rolls. The spicy edamame is great, so much better than the normal type. Last thing that is a must try is the Crème brûlée… it is so good! Customer service is also the best. Enjoy!

This was my second visit for sushi and it was great! Server was very knowledgable on items on the menu, she had suggested the large clam serve in an ice bowl, one left at lunch time. Presentation was delightful and enjoyed the clam, which was slightly sweet, and learned from Japanese tradition, your to take home the large clam For the price I ordered the box lunch, a nice variety of Katsu or Teriyaki in chicken, or pork, salad, miso soup, rice, tempura vegetable and shrimp, and a small portion of spicy tuna or California roll. Perfect and tasty! Left there feeling full but not stuffed. Service was excellent and restaurant was very upscale and clean. Will return for dinner! And drinks!

Been here several times in the past seven years and loved it. But there was this one instance, recently, when I ordered calamari and it was BAD. Like little rubber bands, I could stretch and play with them. I did, to prove to the server that they were completely inedible. I wasn’t even convinced that it was food. Perhaps I got the wrong thing. Is this part of some display? They were stretchy and wouldn’t break. I didn’t taste it, because WHYWOULD I DOTHATTOMYSELF? The person I was with did, and got sick that night. Our server took away the rubber food so cavalierly. She said the whole batch was probably that way so no need to order more. Advice heeded. I enjoyed my sushi, though. Always have.

Japanese delicacies presented in a fusion Western style. What a great, chic, tasty Japanese restaurant right in the town centre! Their clam soup is fresh and rich. Their chirashi(rice topped with sashimi). Enjoyed their salmon teriyaki. Service is good, too. Love the ambiance and décor(modernist, clean-lines, not your usual«Japanese» restaurant). It has a café, bar feel to it.

I was walking by after leaving another store. Decided to stop in when I saw the outdoor sign said Ramen. We were immediately seated. The hostess suggested we set our bags near the front as to not feel crowded in the dining area. Our server QI was training someone and both were very polite. Qi let us know all the specials which we decided on the grilled octopus. We also ordered the ramen combo which came with 6 gyoza dumplings. He gladly brought out 2 bowls for us to share. We noticed that the chef was actually bringing out most of the entrees to the guests. After I devoured the octopus the Mt Trashmore roll was next. When QI brought out the ramen, the chef stopped by and suggested we stop eating the roll and dumplings and eat the ramen while it’s hot because the noodles would expand. So glad he did that because it would have ruined it if we did wait. The spicy pork bowl was really good. Qi mixed it in from of us as it was still sizzling. The hotness of the bowl allowed for some of the rice to stick to the bowl and give it a little crunch. The flavor was really good and the spice didn’t over power the flavor. We finished the meal with Crème brûlée. My first one. So I must saw it was very good. Creamy. This place is definitely a must keep on rotation of sushi restaurants.

I didn’t think that the food was anything special. I wanted to like it more than I did :/

Great service, great location, great selection, great food! What more could you ask for?! I’ve often seen Zushi while roaming Town Center shopping at Anthro or West Elm or while heading off to California Pizza Kitchen but I’ve just never made an actual trip to eat here. Finally, last night a friend and I decided on sushi for dinner and, since she lives very nearby, this is the place we chose. A quick glance at the menu showed a ton of specialty rolls and various different items that piqued my curiosity and made me want to try it. I love going to sushi places that offer something other than Philly rolls, Cali rolls and Volcano rolls. Yummy as those are, I want to try new things most of the time. Zushi isn’t a cheap sushi place — standard rolls prices are around $ 12 and specialty rolls are even more for about 5 pieces. Still, they do have the typical rolls you can order for around $ 6 with other options for those who aren’t as adventurous and don’t want to spend a ton of money. I tried a Trinity roll — it wasn’t on the menu and was one of the special rolls of the day. I also tried a Dara Maki(sp?) I might be messing that up — it was in the paper wrap — it was a smaller roll but was still good. My friend got the Mt. Trashmore roll and I tried it — it was very good. My seaweed salad and her fresh tempura veggies(peppers, broccoli, eggplant, and squash) were delicious. It wasn’t very crowded when we arrived at around 5:30 on a Saturday and we were promptly greeted and seated in a quiet back corner. Our server was very prompt and polite — she went over the specials and was excellent. Great service. I had a great experience here and would definitely come back for some sushi.

The bento box experience here goes above and beyond the traditional ones. If you are looking to try a nice variety of offerings without taking a deep plunge and getting a full entrée item then the bento box is for you. Hurricane joquin was in route during my visit and the chef may have assumed they would be closing because they were nice enough to give me a regular tuna roll instead of the spicy tuna or cali roll that traditionally comes with the box, so be warned they normally dont substitute. The beef teriyaki was some of the best I’ve had, even compared to hibachi places. I look forward to returning.

Best sushi anywhere. Of all the restaurants we have reviewed, this is our favorite. Omakase is Kevin’s specialty but everything is fantastic. Go and enjoy! Sushi Guys International.

Ahh. A very refreshing place to go. Lunch and dinner. When given the opportunity to decide on lunch in Town Center, this is my go-to spot. Apparently, the owner has quite the following, and for good reason. Everyone raves of his creations. I, however, have kept my orders simple because of my particular tastes. If you’re like me, you’ll enjoy the chirashi or sashimi dishes. Always fresh. Always filling. Always a good experience. Highly recommended place for a business lunch(not noisy at all). Great for a date night. Best to go if your group is under six.

Starting off my reviews with a hunger rating on a scale of 1 – 10, Today my hunger rating was a 7 coming into this place. Came here early October when I first got to Virginia Beach, and we had the same server, her name was Debbie, and she remembered us coming in before, even the detail that my wife spilled her drink a little and Debbie offered to get her another one. That was very nice of her. But like a lot of people are saying, this is hands down the best sushi I have had here in Virginia Beach thus far. Started off with the Hanger Steak Ramen as an appetizer between my wife and I, and I wish I could have more! I’ve been to a lot of ramen and saimen places in Hawaii and California, and state side this has to be the best ramen I have had. I believe Chef Kevin Chang was telling us about how he made it, and the broth he uses is pork and chicken broth to make this with a little bit of miso, 9 to 1 part respectively, to create the soup. There’s a little bit of spiciness to it, which for a guy who hates spicy stuff I didn’t mind at all! It was hands down the best ramen I have had! From there we went into three rolls, Pain in the Neck, Zushi, and Mt. Trashmore.(all pictured) , all of them, although the Mt. Trashmore had some salmon with buffalo sauce that I didn’t care for much because I don’t like spicy stuff, still, on point. The Pain in the neck had some sriracha sauce on top I think also, but was good also, and Zushi was my favorite of all three, I think because some part of it is fried and you can never go wrong with fried foods! For dessert we had the mochi red bean and green tea ice cream, and crème brûlée. All good in the hood! Loved this place, and will be back!

–FOOD– ~Sushi~ The sushi was fresh and they even gave us fresh grated wasabi after we requested it. We went for the sashimi and sushi combo plates and I thought the salmon and white tuna were excellent. ~Ramen~ Though it is not listed as a menu item for dinner, a couple of my friends have been here for their lunch when they serve their hanger steak ramen. For dinner, you have to ask if it is available. We only ordered 4 bowls for the entire table so server split the larger bowls down table-side but I wish he hadn’t because the broth cooled down too much. A chef even came out from the kitchen to make sure that our server was distributing the ramen properly. You can definitely tell that they take pride in what they serve. The broth was still very good though and I could have easily killed a whole bowl. Overall this was a very enjoyable dinner and I can’t wait to return! Food: 4 Value: 4 Service: 4
