Great place for lunch. Great flavor, huge portions. great prices. the only drawback was the side dishes. stick with the que!, & sauce. The fries were good till they get cold. also take it to go. the flys are brutal.

I’ll start by saying that I am annoyed, annoyed, annoyed that members of the Glick family allowed their historic butcher shop and«deli» to close down. They were one of the finer mom-and-pop traditions in Visalia, and for a time, their demise meant that the custom cuts of meat and beautifully stuffed pork chops would have to be purchased in Porterville or Fresno. Enter Quality Meats. This a sister branch of their Fresno store. When they opened last year, there was a quite a hoopla, as well as some pretty good exposure from the local media outlets. We let the excitement die down and visited them about six months later. The selection in the butcher case is quite good — the usual cuts of meat and some fish and shrimp. The seafood selection seems kind of spotty, but then again, the store name says«Meats!» One thing cool that they have is a wide selection of marinated tri-tip and marinated chicken. We bought a chipotle tri-tip and some stuffed pork chops to cook in two separate meals at home. Very nice. I think that the pork chops may have needed more crunch in the stuffing, but that could have been a function of overcooking. Since that went well, we purchased a $ 60 meat pack, which has about 18 lbs of meat in the form of ground beef, BBQ steaks, beef ribs, chuck roast and carne asada. Their meat packs have various components, and range from about $ 40 to $ 100. Honestly, it can be hard to figure out which one makes the most sense. Since they’re open at convenient times, I would just go with what will fit in the fridge! I’m about halfway through the pack we bought and am very happy with our purchase. Most of the time, we buy our meats at Costco or Save Mart, but for a special occasion — or perhaps just a splurge, we’re going to be coming right here.
