Compared to the competition(Sequoia Brewing), this place has better food, better beer, better ambiance(the live music is quieter and easier to escape if you don’t want to hear it) and similar prices. I only ate at two places in Visalia during one weekend, but Brewbakers easily gets my vote.

Uh-mazimg service! We threw a surprise birthday dinner for one of my friends and the employees were super accommodating. I loved my meal of Diablos pizza, but some of my friends didn’t enjoy their meals as much as I did.

Looking for a place to grab a bite on the long drive home, my friends & I found this great spot. They were quick to accommodate one of our group who has trouble climbing stairs and set up a nice table on the main floor. Homemade chili was good(wish the bowl was bigger), as was the apple beer, perfect for a hot Visalia afternoon! My companions had sandwiches, small salad, & onion rings. All the tables that we could see were full & everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. Our server(Robert?) was quick & efficient with recommendations & service. Nice décor with stained glass shades & antique breakfront at the entrance. Check this place out. Hope you can stay longer than we could to try a few other beers!

Meh, it was alright but kinda of expensive for just a snack. We had onion rings and a cup of chili. With tip, we walked out $ 20 lighter. Not somewhere I would go again.

My wife and I had lunch at Brewbakers today and found the experience quite nice. She had the sausage sampler(on the appetizer menu) and I had a salmon sandwich, blackened salmon chowder, and the garlic fries. She said the sausage was nicely flavorful, though she didn’t find the mustard sauce to her liking as much – a bit strong for her taste. The salmon sandwich needed a bit of salt, but was otherwise quite nice – moist and tender filet with fresh tomato, lettuce, and onion. The tartar sauce did not overwhelm the flavor of the fish. The garlic fries were lovely – probably terrible for me, but very tasty. The best thing of all, though, was the blackened salmon chowder. Next time I may just get a bowl of that! I tried a couple of their brews; the Sequoia Red with its deep dark red color had a nice malty flavor; and the Blonde was light-bodied(but still beer, as opposed the rice-infected swill you usually see touted as lite-beer), crisp, and had bit of lemon-citrus in the finish. All in all a nice place with attractive(if a bit hipster) décor, reasonably friendly(if a bit hipster) service, good food and good beer. I’ll be making my way back there again.

Their handcrafted sodas are best I’ve tasted in a long while. Also their pesto chicken sandwich is perfect. This place is a little on the pricier side but you do get what you pay for. They have really good portions too.

Our service was great. I loved the building. We sat upstairs. The place was a bit dirty. I shouldn’t see layers of dust on the rafters just above our table. Our food was disgusting. I ordered the California personal pizza. It was so ugly. Like they made no effort in presentation. The crust tasted dry and old. My husband got the fish and chips. He wasn’t happy with his food. The coleslaw upset his stomach. The beers were flat. The rootbeer and orange soda was flat and super gross. We will not be returning. I was so excited to try something new. What an utter waste of money.

Huge portions! Easily shareable. Excellent club sandwich and the garlic fries rock. Dip them in the smoothest ranch dip to make them even better. Hand crafted sodas with free refills! Great service to boot.

We tried to visit this establishment because we had heard good things. When we got there they refused to seat us even though more than half the tables were empty. The servers seemed to argue if they could take us or not bc they didn’t want to deal with us. I would love to give a review based on the food and experience but we had kids with us and couldn’t stand around waiting for these servers to decide if they wanted to do their job.

Walking in you immediately see the large beer vats, a second story of diners, and a bar. Such a cool feel! Such great service, from the very minute you are greeted, seated and served. I ordered the only wine they had, a zin. Hubs ordered his usual IPA. Our drinks were great. Then we got our food. I had the best, most amazing salad ever! A veggie salad with blackened salmon, and sun dried tomato vinaigrette. So yummy. I forgot to take a picture… Sorry! But it was huge! Our server Sarah was amazing! She was so patient with us and our two year old, was quick and attentive, friendly and very kind. Bonus: there was live music! Great ending to a great weekend traveling through the state.

The California pizza is the best! Seriously my favorite veggie pizza in town! The server seemed distant, not really trying to wait on us. And when we called her over she kept a dry, rushing personality. To be fair, it was a busy night. The table we were seated at was still dirty from Crumbs on the seats and greasy table top. We asked to have to cleaned up a little bit and they did Nicely. But besides that, the FOOD is always the same as the first time I went there.

I came here for the first time by myself to have a beer and some food after a long work day. I ordered their in-house brewed Imperial Parker Double IPA which was quite good. I also had their Honey Wheat beer as well. I ordered a small house salad(with blue cheese dressing) and their hot wings. It was happy hour so the prices were a bit lower. Nice joint. Service was good and attentive. The place had a good sized crowd and a good sports bar /brewery atmosphere vibe. I’d like to try some of their other beers in the future. If I am in Visalia again, I’ll come back for sure.

Stopped in for lunch before taking an exam in town. Wow! Great burgers and beer! I had the Bleu Burger and a Blonde Ale. I am very happy with this place! I need to come back and bring the wife. You have to have the garlic fries!!!

I went on a lunch date here after passing this place several times. We thought the place seemed cool and worth a shot. Especially since, the menu outside looked great every time we’ve passed. Basically, our garlic fries were served to us cold, my chicken strips were not cooked correctly, causing them to look like fried fish and tasted of pure heavy oil. I had to peel off the outer layer to enjoy some of the chicken I could salvage, but it was very very greasy with no flavor at all. The one good thing was the tomato basil dressing for my salad. My date had chicken wings along with some of the cold fries. A nice older man sat outside and played the violin, which made the lunch more enjoyable. Our server was fairly pleasant, although she had a very visible hickey on her neck which made us feel uncomfortable. Our stomachs hurt from the meal. We gave it a shot, we won’t be coming back.

I eat here often, and figured it was time to write them a review. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat and have a beer in Visalia. The Sequoia Red is my all-time favorite, although when they have the Lindcove Shandy in, that is my new go to. The fish and chips are always delicious, and the small portion is more than enough to feed me. The salads are enormous, and always refreshing. I love the atmosphere, and they often have live music, and sports on one of three televisions. The staff is friendly, and accommodating. It is two story, so be prepared you might have to walk up stairs, and the restrooms are on the main floor. They also allow smoking on the outside patio, and if you don’t like it make sure you aren’t seated near the door.

Went here for my birthday dinner and had a fantastic experience. Our waitress Lauren(maybe Laura?) was AWESOME. She noticed it was my birthday while taking my ID before anyone in my party said anything, and my first beer was on the house. We all got burgers and were all extremely happy with our food. The garlic parmesean fries were fantastic, not overly greasy and didn’t leave a bad taste or bad breath. The sweet potato fries were alright, but I’d stick to the standard fries that come with the meal. Everyone loved their meals and had plenty of food, which is saying a lot because my party can certainly be picky AND eat a lot. When they fill up without saying a single negative thing about the meal, I am thoroughly impressed and the establishment should feel proud! The beer was surprisingly good. I am pretty specific about my IPAs: I like them bitter and dry. The 6% ABV had me a little worried it was going to be light on flavor and body, but it was neither. Really well made. They also make their own sodas, and if you order one flavor, you can get refills of another one. Try them all! Thank you Lauren and Brewbakers for a great meal and a great birthday experience. I will definitely make an effort to come back next time I am in the valley.

I loved this place! Very friendly service and tasty food. I’m not a big beer drinker but the two I tried were very good, and they also have a nice wine list and hard ciders to choose from. I plan to go again next time I’m in town! BTW try the calamari. I was nervous about ordering seafood in the central valley but was very happy to find out it was super good!

We visited here during my visit home last November. My husband really enjoyed the beer and I thought the menu looked promising, though I wasn’t hungry at the time. Therefore, we returned here as part of a date night to the movie theatre a block away. We were seated upstairs. I was immediately concerned because we were seated near a very large party and I figured they would take up most of our server’s attention. This ended up being true, but not due to any laziness on the part of the serving staff. They were working hard, but alas, we were a lower priority. My husband had a glass of stout and like it well, then asked about Hillbilly. It turned out to be an alewine with such a high ABV content that they can only sell two pints to a customer. He ordered it, and loved it. Under different circumstances, he would have loved to get a growler to take home. We both ordered salads: I had the Katelyn(because a trip home isn’t complete without getting tri-tip somewhere) while my husband had the Caesar. We were both VERY impressed with the size of these salads. They were like feeding troughs! They didn’t skimp on meat or toppings, either. Everything tasted delicious. The one big downside for our trip was the lack of service. The nearby table did demand the attention of the whole crew of servers upstairs. We finished eating and waited a full 15 minutes for our server to return, and by then we were eyeing the clock and worrying about getting to our movie on time. My husband would have likely had another beer, if we had had the server come by.
