Max did such an amazing job for my wedding cupcakes! The original tasting appointment was just wonderful, he had set up our own little table of samples for us try. I had a fun time with my mother and grandmother just trying flavors and combinations of cakes and frosting. I had decided against a bigger cake as a topper, and instead wanted two«bride and groom» cupcakes at the top, and he did such a great job making them look cute! They were delivered to the reception on time, and everyone thought they were delicious! I highly recommend the all natural chocolate buttercream frosting, despite it not lasting long at room temperature. I had a great experience having Max in charge of my cupcakes, and recommend him highly! Thanks Max!

I’ve come back here quite a few times in the past month and I can say the quality of the bear claws and cream cheese pockets are close to being back to normal in quality, consistency, and size. The price is now more than fair enough. These are the only 2 things I get here so I can’t speak for the other items. Good job :)

Was in town for work and took a walk down Main St. I stopped and bought the walnut chocolate chip cookie to help me stay awake. I wished I’d bought more than one because it was delicious

Had a cupcake here and was very disappointed. It was very dry and lacked a lot of sweetness that I’ve come to expect from a cupcakes. The cupcake must have been sitting in their fridge for awhile cause it was HARD! The while frosting on top which should have been cream cheese because it was a redvelvet cc was some kinda off flavored sour cream and tasted like I should have not put it in my app. I’ve had the Unilocal app on my phone for months now and my cupcake was so bad that it was worth actually using this app to write a review. It’s a shame because this is a small business and I know they need all the customers they can get, but D@$& they need to put a little more effort in what they’re baking. I know I’ve been to gas stations with better cupcakes than this place. Oh and yeah, although their chocolate chip cookies are good, not worth $ 1.00 each! Easily have had better CCC from grocery stores in the area. I’d give them a half a star but I don’t think Unilocal will let you do that. I hope the owners address their issue with bad baked foods.

I was NOT a fan of Bothof’s, having to demand my money back for two moldy Napoleons they served me. Imagine my surprise when I went up to the«new» bakery in the same location and found«Bothof’s» all over the signage. New owner, trying to cash in on what is, to me, a stained name? Or an attempt at a second life for the original Bothof’s owners? I don’t know, but I am certain that I am never going back, call themselves Bothof’s or Max’s or The Man in the Moon. I paused outside that door this second time, but decided to give Max’s Cookie Company a chance. Well, it’s still a classically decorated but amazingly cheerless place, with a sparse and less than inspiring display of baked goods. For a cookie company, it doesn’t seem to offer much by way of cookies. Maybe you need to special order them. But nothing in the case suggests you’ll get anything special for your special order, but you’ll pay $ 10 a dozen. For that, I’ll go to Costco and get six dozen cookies I can count on tasting good. But Darling Hubby and I were in the mood for donuts. Good thing we really did want a custard filled donut, because that was the only style of donut offered. The chocolate icing on these long johns looked cracked and dry, however, so I bought only one. And for our $ 2.75, we got a stale, hard donut that at best tasted like nothing and at worst tasted strangely like cigarette smoke. The custard filling was actually quite good, nice and light, and very generously stuffed. But topping it off was that dry, old chocolate icing. How old was this thing? Who can tell? But at least it wasn’t moldy.
