Great place for sushi!!! The salmon nigiri was to die for! Cant wait to return in order to have their other rolls. Nice ambiance and the wait staff was very attentive.

The food all tasted ok our chef must have been new he wasn’t able to do anything like flipping his tools or anything like that(he tried and kept dropping them) in one of the food containers there was a fly enclosed in the container and had to bring it to the attention to the chef or else he’d probably have just used it since the other chef had butter with Flys walking all over it… but other then that the refills worked great but holy crap that extra gratuity killed us! We had a party of 9 with three split bills one of the tips on my father’s bill was over 21 bucks! I won’t be coming back to this place but I wasn’t completely disappointed but for the price it really wasn’t worth it.

Ordered a tiger roll and I asked for the fried rice they make on the teppin yaki side. I could barely see the shrimp in my roll that I paid $ 15 for and it had fake crab. I don’t even know how much they charged me for the wrong rice because I wasn’t even given a receipt. Looks like they just gave me some white rice with soy sauce on it

It’s over priced and not the best sushi in Visalia. Don’t take my advice though, you should try it out for yourself.

When you say«sushi» there is only one place to go… zen of course… I’ve been to a few places in town, but the always consistent Gozen is the #1 choice for me. Have you driven by on a Friday night? You will notice there is no where to park, the reason for that is because its the best in town. Prices are average for sushi and teppanyaki. Come hungry and leave stuffed and satisfied. My favorite rolls are, spicy tuna, and tiger roll.

Wow! And that goes to the customer service, entertainment, and the quality of the taste of food here! Super impressed! A good friend of mine suggested this place(she’s a regular) to eat here for lunch and She was absolutely right about everything here. I ordered the chicken combo, that comes with rice, vegetables, soup and salad and had that tepenyaki style for only 12.95. I’m definitely returning!!!

The Sushi rolls were so delicious. The egg roll appetizer was so also delicious. All of our food was fresh. My husband and I will come back. The service was good also. My husband ordered the Gozen Tiger Roll it was $ 12.95 which was well worth it. I ordered Spicy Shrimp Roll $ 9.95 well worth it as well. However they have other food like steak, chicken, etc. Make the drive to this restaurant, it is worth it. This is probably the only best restaurant in the Central Valley for quality, good service and good food.

My dining experience here was nothing short of exceptional and was a fun Teppanyaki experience! It was cool to watch our chef slice and dice anything you threw at him with great speed and precision. The Teppanyaki offerings were excellent and the sushi was the bomb. I closed my eyes as I ate each piece of sushi concentrating on the exquisite flavor sensations. For a moment nothing existed but me and the sushi!

Gozen’s Sushi Bar & Teppanyaki does not disappoint. I would give 5 stars but parking is a nightmare, only because they’re always super busy. We called in our reservation earlier that day and were promptly seated when we arrived. We started with an appetizer of Tempura shrimp, washed down with some favorite adult beverages, then feasted on the Gozen Tiger and Whammy Rolls and ended our meal sharing the Oishi Cheese Cake, the appetizer, entrees and dessert were absolutely delicious. Our waitress Victory was very attentive, polite and accommodating. Can’t wait for the next visit!

Amazing food. I came here with high expectations I’ve been hearing about, seeing about and everything. I came here with my mom just to have lunch. We had the food cooked in front of us so I think it’s called the Teppanyaki Grill. it was just my mom, me and the cook. It was so cool seeing the food cooked in front of us our Sushi was fresh our food is obviously very fresh. The only thing I didn’t really care for is that when we order our food it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks and then about another 10 minutes to have our food cooked. The cook was kind of in a tired mood if that makes sense. And was telling us about how he hasn’t eaten yet and he can’t wait to get off when he’s done cooking. I didn’t care for that, it felt like we were being rushed but other than that the food is great and we were welcomed in right away, and sat right away.

Had the crunchy roll, ha ha roll and OMG. All were delicious! Despite being very busy, they say us(only two of us) at the sushi bar and we were able to order and get our food quite quickly!

This is the place to go for Japanese food in the south valley. Wonderful sushi, great staff and the décor is clean and modern. We think they have the best fried rice we have ever eaten. I don’t even specify anymore. Just have them bring out what they recommend that day. Never disappointed.

The sushi, sashimi and rolls are really good. They do a top notch job. That is the reason to go there. I’ve never been a fan of tapenyaki and the 2 times I have had it there it was on par with what I have had at other places. Their unique cocktail selection is pretty good and so is the service.

The only reason this was four stars is because we had to wait for our seat because when I called and talked to Alex she did not put me down for the sushi side of the house. One the positive side we were celebrating my husbands birthday and Aaron suggested some amazing sushi rolls for us to have which tantalized our taste buds! I appreciate that they allowed us to bring in dessert for my husband’s birthday. On top of that they brought him a beautifully presented ice cream dish and sang to him. What a great place to celebrate!

My husband and I went here based upon some of our friends’ recommendations. We were not disappointed. It was rather busy for a Thursday evening an hour before closing(which is when we showed up. around 8pm). They seated us right away and the food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the Dinner combination(with fried rice, shrimp/veggie tempura, chicken teriyaki, and california roll), Gozen Tiger Roll, Hawaiian Roll, and a half order of the Crunchy Roll. Everything was extremely flavorful and fresh. I have no complaints about our personal experience. great/quick service, fresh tasty food, and relaxed atmosphere. We will be back :)

If you like bugs with your iced tea… This is the place for you. Sat and watched our sushi rolls sit on the bar for 10 minutes while three servers stood at the front counter. Won’t be back.

It was a packed Friday night and we got reservations for 4. At the last minute 2 more friends showed up, and they included them in our party no problem. I ordered the alligator and scallop. Cooked beautifully. BTW, it does not taste like chicken. A bit gamey ! But very tasty. Our service was great until the end when we were waiting to do a sake bomb. Apparently they have only so many glasses. This wasn’t a bad thing because we got time to relax, and didn’t feel like they just wanted our money and then to get us out. Sake bomb was fun, food was great, friends were fun and the service kept is happy. Great place for a fun night out with friends, just don’t get in a hurry ! Thank you

We were in town recently, and went here for dinner with family; we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgable with good recommendations — the food was great(amazing garlic fried rice). The surprising thing was that service seemed a tad too fast(almost rushed). But, better that than having to ask the status of an order. Overall, a very positive experience. Additionally, I highly recommend the Nigori Crazy Milk Saké…loved it!
