My first review was removed because it did not have enough information, so here it is. If there was a ZERO to rate this store, I would rate it a ZERO. I called on 6÷28÷16 @ about 1050am to place an order(5) to be exact. I have had many issues in the past with the Akers store and have never complained. The customer service at this store has not been the best, but we always go back because the food is great. So when I called and finished all my separate orders I had asked the worker on the phone(The cook who wears the glasses) «Can you please make sure they put the green sauce on all the taco’s»? He replied«We always do» I replied«No, there has been several times that we have ordered tacos and we returned to work with no sauce on them». He then replied«Well we must have ran out, there will be sauce on them because I just made a bunch right now» I stated«Great, thank you so much». I am familiar with the voice because I go into the Akers store at least 3 – 4 times a week. I go pick up our order at about 11:10, I walk in and I see(Kareem) the owner/manager talking with the cook loudly stating«Oh yeah that girl is a liar, we never forget to put green sauce on our tacos, they are always sent out with it on the» Not sure what the cook replied with, and then I hear Kareem state«Yeah that is a lie, we always put the sauce on the tacos and if there was ever an issue why didn’t she call and tell us about it». He continued on talking about me while he was bagging out orders. I was next in line to pay and once I walked up to the register to pay I stated to(Kareem) «Hey, I was that girl you were talking about, the liar, I said let me explain something to you, we only come her because the food is good, not because of the customer service» I said«The customer service sucks here and if you are the so called owner or manager that’s a shame because you are so unprofessional and rude» I said«This is not the first time this has happen, it has happen several times» Kareem the rolled his eyes and head stating«OK several times, when it happens you need to call and let us know» I explained to him«We don’t always have time to call and complain about our food, because we don’t have a long enough lunch to drive back» «But that is fine» He replied«I wasn’t even talking to you, I was talking to him» I replied«You were talking to him about me, who else could you have been talking about putting no green sauce on the tacos?» I said to him«You are very unprofessional and rude, and you call yourself a so called owner, what kind of example are you providing for your employees». He then nodded his head and said«Yeah, ok, ok». I paid for all of our food and then walked out. The lady that helped me at the register was very friendly. I realize that Kareem may be your brother and this is a family owned operation, but it does not make it okay to treat customers the way he treats them. As far as the other issues with the Akers store: I have placed an order over the phone and went into the store to pay for it separately and Kareem has complained about it to his employees at the register stating«They need to start saying they are separate orders, and they are going to pay separate». Instead of addressing me and asking me nicely to call in the orders and state«I would like to pay for separate orders». He complained to his employee in front of me. That was very rude of him as well. I have never complained until now. I was spending anywhere from 14 – 21 dollars 3 – 4 times a week, not including all the separate orders I would take in there and pick up for my fellow co-workers. Its very sad and upsetting how bad customer service can spoil it for everyone. The customer and the business. I appreciate you replying to this message. I have to say that is the last dollar you will get from me. I have talked to others about PITA and I have yet to hear a good review about the customer service at Akers. They do say to go to the store down town because they are friendlier there and the customer service is better. With that being said, I know that all 3 of your stores are family owned, and I would hope that this review can help you better your customer service. Thank you for your time.

I nearly had to take the pulse of the hostess/order taker to see if she was alive. No smiles, no welcome, a blank stare. As a matter of fact in our 45 minutes there we did not see one smile from her Or any of the staff. No one to check on how the food is etc while you are seated. This was around 6.45pm today, Sunday evening. Food just ok, beef and lamb dry. I would not return.

Never a disappointment at pita kabob. The food is 2nd to none and the service is excellent. The menu has a great variety and everything is so tasty. If your in the area you should definitely stop at one of the pita kabobs and try it out

The service was good and so was the food. I ordered the Shawarma fries and spicy wrap and was pleased with both. The place has a very clean, fresh vibe to it.

Very good food! The hummus is a must! Home made BTW. Great for dinners and groups. A very great selection of Mediterranean food! Is my new favorite place in Visalia.

Foods good, but, without fail, your carry out order will always be wrong. The receipt will be right… so you know you ordered it the way you want it, they just can’t go from order to pickup and get it right. I kept trying, but 5 times is enough. Had to add an update because this never happened to me before. The owner emailed me, explained the mistake, and rectified the problem. I was impressed with his professionalism and will definitely give it another try! Update #2. Got the gift card in the mail, went last night and got carry out, same exact order, only this time everything was perfect. Love the food, the employees are great. And props to the owner for reaching out to me!

I love coming to all their restaurants, however, the last 2 times I’ve gone to this location has been a disappointment not because of the food but because of the service and the difference inconsistency in their menu. I usually come in and get the pita kabob combo with double lulu and chicken. I was informed by the person taking the order saying that they only do 2 meats now instead of 3. To top it all off the price goes up. There’s a picture and description of what is in the Pita Kabob combo. It states 3 kabobs plus 2 sides. See the inconsistency. I’ve been to the Mooney restaurant a few weeks back and they are still giving 3 meats and the price is not as high as the walnut restaurant. If they’ve changed the menu then that needs to be reflected on the picture posted. I will still go to pita kabob but possibly not at the Walnut location.

I ordered the Greek Burger and Falafel Fries. Get the Greek burger only if you REALLY love Greek flavors, otherwise, you are in for a huge disappointment. I love burgers and Greek food so it seemed like a great combo but the favors we too over the top. The Falafel fries on the other hand are INCREDIBLE. Great portion too.

Two words, shawarma fries! Get it, stop asking questions just get it! We got ours with chicken and it was delish! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Since this was our first time here, the lady at the counter made sure to answer any questions we had. We also ordered a chicken wrap and the B.F.G gyro wrap. Everything tasted great and the portion are very generous. Overall, it was a great experience and we definitely will be returning.

Excellent place to get a tasty, healthy lunch or dinner. Staff are friendly and accommodating and food spot on. Also craft beer selection a winner. Great place to stop before Kings Canyon or Yosemite

So glad we stopped here for lunch on the way to the national park. Forget fast food on your road trip and choose this fresh, healthy and TASTY quick bite. Service was amazing– they know everyone by name and are relaxed with tourists. Ordered the lamb fit bowl for happy tummy and loved it. Kids loved the kebob wraps. Craft beer appreciated too. Walked out with block of sheep cheese.

FIVESTARS for the food! Best hummus and baklava ever! Little pricy but worth it especially if you split a combo meal However the staff is usually a mixed not that great. Don’t make eye contact when ringing you up, and in general are a bit standoffish. This one very young girl talked so quite my heard of hearing mother kept asking her what she said and even I had no idea!

This place is ok. The food is good, but not great. $ 14 for a combination plate including meat, pita, and two sides. Pretty expensive in my opinion. This place has a fast food vibe, with a sit-down restaurant price. A little odd when you order and see your bill. I Spent $ 50 for two meals and two kids meals. I would say that it is not worth the money for the taste. I have had better food at other places, but this is one of the only places in town. Average to me. Customer service is good. The people working there are nice. They took a while to cook the food so expect to wait a bit. Food was fresh, place was clean, service was fine. Average place gets average rating.

I’ve never tried their burgers and my review is solely based on their hummus and babaganush. It was recommended to me by a co-worker to come here and I was NOT disappointed. The hummus and babaganush was so fresh, filled with flavor and down right perfect. It comes with the choice of pita bread or pita chips, either or it’s bound to make your mouth water.

Enjoyed the experience, the food was well prepared and decent size portions. This is a great experience if you’re wanting restaurant quality but fast food speed. Don’t miss out on trying some mediterranean food in Visalia.

Nice selection of beers on tap. The chicken was a little drier than I like. The dolmades were good with a little spice and the tabbouleh was fresh and well seasoned!

I have been here multiple times(at least 5) and each time has been very similar. First off, the place looks great. It’s hip, clean, the outdoor patio is gorgeous and just the place you want to be on a warm summer night drinking with friends. Second, the menu is unique(for Visalia) and has a good blend of new things to try, and bar foods staples for those who are less adventurous with what they eat. I like the deep fried cauliflower, but it’s hit and miss depending on if it’s been prepared correctly. Third, and finally, the service. The service is the major downfall of an other wise great place, and it’s the most important factor of the customers experience. A rude/inattentive server can take a great meal and ruin it. I have been on several occasions straight up ignored by waitresses, managers, hostesses, and bartenders at this place. Come on! It takes the same amount of time to be polite as it takes to be rude. Please fix this Pita Kabob and make your customers experience perfect.

I tried the Mediterranean chicken salad at this local restaurant. The location was clean with an outside patio to enjoy your meal. I ordered the full portion and should have ordered the half, so portion sizes are obviously not lacking. The hummus and shawarma are full of authentic flavors and if you’re looking to kick it up a notch, try the jalapeño hummus! Great place for lunch on a work day! Can’t wait to try a few more of their menu options.

Walked into a fast food looking Mediterranean place. Didn’t think much of it. Thought I’d just grab a pita and be in and out pretty quickly. The food was a bit pricier than I expected and there was surprisingly a 10−15min wait for our food after we ordered. But it was well worth it because my order was pretty amazing. I had the Lamb Shish Kabob with tabooleh and grilled veggies. Best choice I made all day. The portions were big, a lot of tender pieces of lamb. Grilled veggies were flavorful and excellent tabooleh. I highly recommend getting my order if you love lamb. Its soo. lamby. LOL Definitely want to make a trip back here before I leave this town. Check out my pictures :)
