Very good food. Generous portions. Friendly staff. Omelets are on sale in the morning, I think at $ 7.99. Be careful ordering pancakes, they are yuge.

We heard that the place is very good so we came to give it a try. The food is good but not that great to justify the price. While there are choices of sides Ie hash browns and biscuits, there isn’t much vegetable nor fruit choices or at least without paying significantly extra. While they have senior discount for those 55+(a small $ 1.50 discount), it’s on the small prints at the end of a menu so you have to look hard to see it. Though what I dislike is what they don’t tell you it’s not $ 1.50 off your total bill but off an «entrée» order. What is considered an «entrée» is not clearly marked on the menu so it’s necessary to ask server is whether the main dish you ordered qualifies as an «entrée.» Also if you come with your significant other(less than 55 years old) or child/grandchild and ordering an «entrée» and a second dish they don’t consider an entrée for the party to share, make sure you order the entrée for your self and the other dish for the other otherwise the restaurant might not let you have $ 1.50 off your bill even if your younger family member(s) intends to share it with you and you are the one paying the bill.

Great buttery avocados on my Cali eggs Benedict. Would have been fabulous with a sausage patty but they doctored it up with added sliced sausage links. So good.

We were staying in the area and followed Unilocal here. Great breakfast! My eggs were great, portions were generous, and prices were reasonable. Would return next time we’re in the area!

This is our go-to spot now that we live across the street. The food is always good and the ladies are so nice. It must be a favorite for a lot of people because when I tell people I live in Vista, they always ask of I’ve eaten here.

Love this restaurant, great food, good service, friendly staff. We went for moms day, even with a full house, we got seated and served quickly, food was hot and delicious. The prices are good to, with average cost of 10.00 per person. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I don’t know WHAT they do to the fries at this place but they are amazing! I had a decent Monte Cristo sandwich, but if I had known, I would have ordered only fries for lunch! Service was great! Ice tea was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back. I didn’t have desert, but saw other people really enjoying fresh baked pie that looked delicious.

Great staff, good cookin. This place is a sure win any time of the day. Their waitstaff family does a nice job at always making you feel right at home, yet the place has class and style. I love their turkey in any way it’s served!

This is my favorite breakfast spot. The ingredients are top quality and the food tastes great. Rarely do I find a place that I don’t clean my plate, but I always leave a little here, so the portions are big. The Corned Beef Hash is just about the best I have ever had, the omelettes are great, the pancakes are off the charts. I got a side of salsa with an omelette and it was incredible. If you like salsa with your eggs don’t forget to ask for some on the side. I’m going to have to drop by for dinner one of these days. If it’s anything like their breakfast it’s sure to be a treat. So there you have it. Awesome food, reasonable prices and a charming place. It is getting popular now though so it’s busy on weekends. You might have to wait a few minutes but it will be well worth the wait.

Almost everything I’ve had here was really good. I only had one thing from the regular menu, the chicken fried steak, and everything else was from the daily specials menu. The portions here are huge! Unless you have a big appetite, expect to bring home leftovers. The specials come with a salad or soup of the day, I recommend getting the soup to save room for the entrée. The place is pretty large and you seat yourself. I don’t know how busy it gets during the busy hours, but the parking lot kind of sucks, so keep that in mind when checking this place out. I recommend eating pretty much anything from the daily specials menu, and I’ll have to try out the regular menu sometime in the next few visits.

Happened to come across this place after hiking and wanting some good breakfast food. Soooo glad we came here. The food was literally amazing! I will definitely be back! The biscuits were home made and the bacon, cheese, avocado scramble I had was so tasty! The waitress was eh, not the friendliest, but whatever. The food made up for it!

I’ve eaten here two mornings in a row. Food was excellent. The potatoes, home fries, top notch. Corn beef hash(not from the can) was very good, and not over garliced like some places tend to do. The country scramble was the other breakfast I had, that was great too. Good coffee, good service. Chatted with an 80 year old fella that was nice as could be while I had breakfast. Opens a little before the posted 6:30, which is fine by me. When I’m back in town, this is definitely my new breakfast spot. Two thumbs up

I am thoroughly impressed! Generally I head to the coast for breakfast, but we decided to try this place. They seated us quickly, were very kind to our children and took our orders promptly. This was such a great breakfast menu! I wanted to try everything! I ordered the corned beef hash florentine benedict,(they have a whole benedict menu!) It was amazing, not too much hash, shreds of corned beef with spinach onions and peppers. The egg was perfectly poached and the hollandaise was creamy and delicious, it was enough to bring home and have it for breakfast today :) The kids meals were very large and the kids loved them. I can’t even remember what my husband got, I was too busy savoring my dish, but he ate it all lol. This place is worth a try, I’m excited to try out the lunch and dinner menus

This place is a step above a typical«café». Lovely décor, clean and classy. It has an extensive menu, so anyone’s sure to find lots of choices, especially with breakfast offered all day :) I finally settled on the chicken salad sandwich, and my two friends had a tuna salad sandwich and a burger. The chicken salad in mine had finely ground meat and not many crunchy vegetables… very similar to the type my grandmother used to make. We all agreed that our food was yummy and that the server was friendly and attentive. I’d love to visit this café again next time I’m in the area to try some breakfast.

One of my favorite local spots here in Vista. The staff is really friendly and the food is always on point. I’m a big fan of the turkey club with Avocado, it’s a decent price and there is always a little left over to take home. The only down side is they close a little early in the evening but that is never a deterrent for me to come here. Stop by and give them a try and you won’t be sorry.

The chicken burrito and table side guacamole was to die for. Best Mexican I had in a while. Everything tasted very fresh. Also, I had a peach grande Margarita on the rocks. The size was unbelievable and the taste was even better. The atmosphere was a fun spot and a mariachi band played for us at our table side. Definitely have to check this place out if your in San Diego.

I like the casual ambience. The boys and I usually sit at the bar. I just ordered a morning glory Benedict, very excited! Staff is sweet and the food is good. Not so into the televisions, but they are quiet and the music is great! We will be returning and at that point my stars might end up changing

This update is over due. My recent visit to Coyote Café was in March. I met a friend here for lunch during the weekday. Luckily for us we missed the lunch crowd. The place hasn’t changed much as far as décor. You still have the comfy feel when you walk into the restaurant. My dish was a BLT. It was quite delicious. There wasn’t nothing fancy about it, but it had just the right amount of bacon, lettuce and tomato. There wasn’t gobs of mayo, and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The food was served to us quickly. The service improved a tad. I would like to return to try some of the other dishes offered.

I have been coming to Coyote Café before I could even say Coyote Café and before Unilocal existed! Yeah that’s along time! I have been with this place through all the changes, but what remains the same is great quality home style meal for great prices! I would go try new breakfast places, but I was always comparing them to Coyote. My all time favorite breakfast is the Vegetarian Omelette with Hashbrowns, Sourdough bread, and plenty of coffee refills, and I’m not even a vegetarian. So unfortunately when they started adding broccoli, spinach, artichokes, or any other vegetable that wasn’t in the original vegetarian omelette, I became slightly aggravated! I love those vegetables, just not in my omelette, and it was perfect already! Didn’t have to change a thing! So I either pick them out or become one of those annoying people who says, «Can I have the Vegetarian Omelette except yada yada yada and oh yeah none of that either.» **Cue** Rolling eye glare! Honestly, it doesn’t matter what you have because everything tastes great such as: Hamburger/Cheeseburger, Half Sandwich/Half Soup Combo with dessert, Sweet and Sour Chicken(Specials), Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes, Pancakes, Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and much more. They don’t ever disappoint! The waitresses as well are fantastic and always greeted me with a warm smile, probably because my mom and I are recognizable after our many trips here. It’s always crowed Saturday/Sunday morning, so just have a little patience if service is slower than normal and don’t worry, your food will be delicious and hot! The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because they need to change the Vegetarian Omelette back to it’s original form! Onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and mushrooms! No cheese either: P
