So, we’ve been here a few times and usually it’s pretty good but today… I don’t know what happened! Coffee; if you like your coffee to start your engine, literally, then come on over. It was so thick and so strong I could only stand a spoonful it tasted like some kind of fuel. I kindly asked to take it away and requested water with no ice… when the waitress brought back a cup of ice with splash of water, I just looked at my husband. Ok, no biggie, it’s just a drink… on to our order. Hubby asked for extra crispy hash browns ‘almost burnt ’ he said, with his meal and I ordered my usual of huevos rancheros. My previous rating has my pictures of how it all should look and used to be the bomb. Today, hubby’s order came back with under cooked hash browns and my huevos Rancheros with eggs over easy had fried eggs with yolk very cooked and juice running all on my plate and avocado slices that had black marks… I wish I took a picture from today but still was trying to give benefit of the doubt since we usually like the food here. I am assuming the ‘juice’ came from the the bottle of Pace salsa they poured on top. After today, I can honestly say we will NEVER come back again! Gross food, coffee sucks and waitress obviously didn’t listen to a word we said! Very disappointed!!!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now, and I finally did. The food was amazing. Love my French toast & blended iced vanilla latte.

What a wonderful surprise tucked away on Main Street in Vista! Okay, I realize I’m probably the only person who considers this café a «surprise» but I personally just discovered it. The atmosphere is unassuming yet very comfortable. Local art graces the walls and the food … Well the food is great! Had a yummy Cobb Salad and my daughter Loves their wraps. And the service? Lovely, people who want your experience to Be a good one. I really like them! So, there you have it. Go to Curbside Café and enjoy the«surprise»!You will become a regular — like me..

I went on Sunday for lunch, and decided to pay the majority of my bill with cash, and a few dollars on the card. The waitress came back with my card receipt and I had been charged the full amount on my card and she had taken the cash When I went to ask her to fix the issue, she didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing and handed me another receipt with a charge for more money. When I was signing the new card, assuming she had dropped the price she charged me, she asked me rudely if I was going to tip. When I asked her how long it would take to be returned to my account, she said immediately. I waited for 30 minutes, and called back because it had not been added back. I called the restaurant, and another employee told me the charge would be credited back at the end of the day. The next afternoon, I had still not been credited and I called and spoke to the owner. He seemed extremely annoyed about me calling to check on the money I had not received back He told me I would probably receive the money back sometime this week, and asked me to call back if/when I received it. I told him this is a bit of an inconvenience for me, as I work full time and was already taking time during work to call. I told him that I was planning to dispute the charge on my card and he said«Well, you dont need to do that» and started to get argumentative with me. I told him that I was just concerned about getting my money back, because I paid double plus tip for my food and at this point the service I’m receiving makes me very unhappy. He then told me «Well, this has happened with other customers with much more expensive orders and they eventually got their money back» he then continued«Well, I said I was sorry and the waitress is human and made a mistake, I don’t know what you want me to do» He offered for me to come pick up my money at the end of the week if it never arrived, which I appreciate however I work until after the restaurant is closed. And to be frank, I don’t think that I need to take time out of my work day, or travel back to the restaurant to receive money that was taken by a mistake of your staff. I understand people make mistakes, but the restaurant should be taking the responsibility of returning my money to me immediately and not making me feel bad for being overcharged. The way the owner spoke to me and treated me after his staff made a mistake is the reason I will not return to this establishment. The food is good, the service is alright and I wasn’t angry at my waitress for making a mistake, but I don’t believe the owner of a restaurant should ever speak to a customer the way I was spoken to, or take such a lackadaisical approach to returning an overcharge fee. EDIT : I went in today on my lunch break after speaking to the owner, and when I walked in to talk to him he called the police on me immediately. I am actually astonished at how rude this owner is, and how unwilling he is to accommodate a customer who was overcharged by a mistake of his staff. I understand someone making a mistake, but being unwilling and completely rude to a customer and then altogether telling me I wouldn’t get ANY money back after this situation is ridiculous. I would have not been upset if he was willing to assist me initially and not getting angry at a customer calling to inquire about an overcharge. This is NOT the way you conduct a business, and to be screamed at by a grown man who is the owner of the establishment is DISGUSTING. I have worked previously as a manager at a restaurant and would never dream of not refunding a customer after such horrible service. It wouldn’t have even been an issue if the waitress just handed me the 20 bill I gave her initially. It truly feels as though I am being taken advantage of, and when the owner told me there was NOPROOF I gave a $ 20 dollar bill it seems pretty unethical and fishy to me. I would absolutely NEVER visit this establishment again and I will make sure everyone I know hears this story as well. This is horrible business practice, and pretty unbelievable integrity on the owner of the establishment.

One of our go to places in Vista for breakfast. Their prices are moderate. They have the best fruit sides for their meals in Vista. Wait staff never seems to smile but they provide professional service so that is ok.

We love this place for weekend breakfast. A few of my favorites: Biscuits & gravy and country fried steak, brandy french toast, and cinnamon rolls! This place is great for a home cooked style breakfast. The service is quick and friendly too.

Location is fantastic. They have both indoor and patio seating. Friendly staff and quick to see you enter. I’ve been here several times and they have never had me waiting longer than 2 minutes. They are always friendly enough to take your order even when it’s 1605 minutes till closing, and they won’t rush you. Great breakfast and lunch menus. Personal favorites are the chorizo omelette and the half tuna sandwich with clam Chowder soup side.

It used to be okay. The food was decent. However the waitress are rude rude rude. One almost burned my toddler. She removed the hot water for tea, and if it wasn’t for my sister she would had burned my toddler. My sister order a hot chocolate, but I guess in this restaurant the«WAITRESSISALWAYSRIGHT». Im sure the owner sees their behavior, it must be their business culture. The waitress are plain rude, and they will give you the look of exorcism if you take too long to order, or if you ask them for a request. Sunrise café or the Yellow Deli has better service and food,

I’ve been here for breakfast several times without any complaints. The moment you walk up a server will acknowledge you and will help find you a table even on a busy weekend morning within 15 minutes. The food is good and the staff is quick. Also, I’ve been here for lunch on many occasions, the BLTA is delicious! Last time I went I got the chicken wrap which was also good but I missed the BLTA. It’s hard to deviate from it, it’s so good! I always regret it when I order something else even though that something else was also good. You just Can’t beat bacon and avocado, yum! Their sweet potato fries are on point. They also do really delicious smoothies.

What an awesome local diner. Not only great food, but very friendly service as well. My friend and I started by splitting the cinnamon roll which was huge and definitely enough for two people. It was delicious and had the perfect amount of melting cinnamony, sugary filling. I had the Chorizo Omelet with hashbrowns and coffee cake. The omelet was awesome and I was able to get it with a delicious housemade salsa. The hashbrowns were delicious and definitely a notch up from the average breakfast potato. I couldn’t stop eating them. The coffee cake was moist and had a lovely, addicting flavor. My friend had the Stuffed Croissant which was a breakfast sandwich. This looked as amazing as all of the other food and my friend really enjoyed it. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area. I can’t imagine you’ll get a better breakfast somewhere else!

I am a big fan of this place. Huge. so why only four stars? Well, my dear friend and I went on a brutally hot day(they have no a/c, only fans) and the flies were driving us insane. However, if you take that part out… the place is really great. My friend ordered a pretty basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. I went a bit crazy because I was hungry… stuffed croissant sandwich(eggs, cheese, bacon, avocado), coffee cake, and their really delicious cinnamon roll that has been mentioned in tons of Unilocal reviews. Then the server said those magic dreamy words…“mimosas, ladies?“ Everything was delicious and filling. Service was quick and friendly. I would absolutely go back but I would wait for a cooler day.

I think this is a cute diner. I pass by it all the time and was curious as to how the food is as I’ve been told it was good but wanted to see for myself. So I grabbed a friend and had lunch here during the week. Didn’t really know what I wanted so I went my with my fall back, eggs Benedict. I’ve been told they have the best eggs Benny so I figured why not? Well… they were ok. The potatoes they came with were awful tho. No flavor whatsoever. I even used ketchup for them and I NEVER use ketchup for anything. So I would come back but I would try other dishes however. Practically no one was there so we got seated right away. At a tiny table at the back of the restaurant but it worked. Waitress was attentive and gave us time to look over the menu and decide what we want. All in all, it was pretty convenient for lunch. I know this place gets really busy on the weekends tho so come early!

Really cute place, seems they have their regular clients, you can eat inside or outside, workers were dressed casual with shorts and jeans, many advertisements on the table . Time :They did take 8 minutes to attend us. A young lady attended us super nicely after the women who sat us had told her that we weren’t attended yet . Food: food was delicious ! And a great big portion of it, cooked perfectly . Overall: great place to eat for breakfast, just wished they didn’t take so long to attend us.

A classic American diner. Everything is pretty fresh and there’s a decent selection of menu items ranging from breakfast to lunch. Friendly fast service with a smile. However I didn’t find anything to write home about. I had the Californian– a chicken avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries. Hubby had a Patty melt with a caesar salad. Kids had half a grilled chicken breast with sweet potato fries.(Literally that was all that was on their plate) My main complaint is that the kids meal selection is pretty lame– either peanut butter and jelly sandwich, breaded and fried chicken pieces, grilled cheese sandwich, all with french fries; or a couple breakfast items. Where’s the fresh fruit and veggies?! So unless I’m really missing something, it’s a-ok average.

I really love it here! The people who work here are all very friendly and accommodating. There’s outside seating as well as inside seating. The reason for four stars and not five is mainly because there’s no ac inside. So, you can imagine how hot it gets being in Vista on an 80 degree day. They do have fans but it’s still pretty hot. The food is amazing here, everyone I was with got something different and we all loved it. The Monte cristo was the perfect size, I finished it and didn’t have that uncomfortable fullness that makes you feel sick and I hate wasting food so it was perfect. A friend got the salmon eggs Benedict with friends, loved it, another got an omelet and loved it as well. I would totally recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for amazing breakfast food.

We were the Corned beef couple this morning. I knew I wanted a solid egg breakfast and didn’t really care to have bacon(crazy, I know) or sausage. When I saw that this was labeled«fresh» corned beef, I couldn’t resist to order this. I’m on a mission to try all homemade corned beef! We sat outside on this San Diego, day after it rains, humid day. We got our drink orders quickly and our food quickly. My bf ordered the Reuben(with corned beef of course) and the waitress said that’s the reason she works there and she’ll buy it for him if he doesn’t like it. Haha! He loved it. I took a bite and I would order it for myself too. I had the corned beef hash and it was interesting looking. It looked like ground corned beef with finely chopped carrots and shredded potatoes. To be honest, it got me nervous because it didn’t look familiar to me. I ordered my eggs over easy and together, it was delicious. The egg was cooked perfectly and the corned beef was pretty good. The carrots didn’t give it an «extra kick,» but it’s nice to know I’m getting another vegetable into my diet. Next time, scrambled eggs would be nice. We will be back and I really want to try their coffee cake and coffee specialty drinks.

Hair in my food. Twice! And once in my wife. Three times in one sitting. The first time we were here everything was great. Now. Not so much. Then our waitress gave me crap about it after confronting her about. What kind of service is that? Not going to mention her name but She need me step her customer service skill up a notch. Also, not to mention, after taking the food w/hair the first time. Her quick response should of Simply said this«I’ll take care of this for you». But instead I got this… «what do you Want me to do with this»? Really? Anyways… Just venting. All I know She Deserve $ 0 tip. But gave her $ 2 tip out of pity. More to the story but I’ll leave it at that.

Ok so round 2… Pros: Got a chance to try the cinnamon roll and it is fabulous! And given that it does not have frosting, that is saying something. Outstanding, crispy, thick bacon. I must try a salad because their ranch/house dressing is to die for. Good coffee. Quaint interior. Saw someone’s breakfast croissant sandwich and it looked good. Cons: Uncomfortable seating. Limited parking. The monte Cristo… this time so soggy that I did not eat it, and when the server took my plate, she did not ask how things were. I ended up paying for a sandwich I did not eat. Had other food items not been outstanding, I would give 3 stars just for this. Bottom Line: AVOIDMONTECRISTO. BINGEONCINNAMONROLL.

Crab Benedict was gooood, Highly suggested. Berry smoothie was ok, but not spectacular. The peach smoothie was more rich and something I would get again. Denver omelette was made the way it’s supposed to be, just right. Really enjoyed the chicken tortilla soup, flavorful and homemade. Monte Cristo was ok. Stuffed croissant is something we would get again.

Even though I was taking a trip up to Vista for the day, I never like missing breakfast on the weekends. Curbside Café came recommended to me by Unilocal at the time and was near where I was going to be that morning. Curbside did not disappoint me one bit for breakfast that day, they really impressed me with their little café. I came here with a friend early in the morning around 7ish on a Saturday. The place hadn’t really filled up yet with a crowd, so plenty of seats were still open. The waitress gave us a friendly welcome and told us to grab whatever seat we wanted. The coffee here was pretty decent for a café, it didn’t have the usual burnt taste that I usually encounter from diners and alike. For a breakfast & lunch place, it had a good sized menu with lots of options for everyone. They claim to have one of the best cinnamon rolls here, so of course I had to try one of those things. The spanish omelette( ) I ordered came with three eggs, salsa, cheese and avocado on top. Eggs were cooked great and the avocado was fresh. It was a tasty omelette with perfectly seasoned hash browns on the side. I got great flavored black beans on the side instead of bacon, I love mixing beans in with my omelette. My friend ordered a custom veggie omelette( ) with a side of fruit. Curbside doesn’t joke around with fruit( ) as you can see, they actually give you a good selection of fruit and not the usual melons and grapes. All of our food was spot on delicious, my friend remarked on how fresh tasting the veggies were in the omelette. I was kinda bummed at first when I asked for a cinnamon roll and our waitress informed me they weren’t done cooking them yet, even though it was almost an hour after the place had opened. She said it would still be about twenty minutes to being done, I’m glad I took the wait and got one anyways. These things( ) are freaking massive, its definitely a two person treat because one order is the size of two or three regular rolls. Not only are they humongous but they are downright divine tasting, especially when you get them right out of the oven fresh. They’re topped with plenty of nuts that give it great texture and aren’t too sweet. Hands down the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had in my life and allows them to live up to their matra. This was a great place to stop for breakfast, it exceeded my expectations of a little café. The service here was great, food was delicious and the prices were more than reasonable. I would definitely make this a regular breakfast spot if it was closer to me, but unfortunately its too far from where I live. If you’re looking for a quality cheap breakfast, Curbside is the place in Vista.
