I don’t even like donuts and I crave these donuts… weird I know. But they are so good! My favorites so far are the blueberry(of course!) and the crumb one. The crumb donut just melts in your mouth. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I wanted to try their cream cheese filled donut but they didn’t have any left so I have an excuse for a visit in the near future ;)

It’s called out of this world cream puff! I can’t believe no one has mentioned these little pieces of heaven. Perfect puff pastry filled with the most delicious cream filling. You can only get these on weekends and they go quickly. I get up extra early and drice from oceanside for this extra special treat… sooooo good!

Best donuts I’ve every had. The blueberry donuts are amazing and the Apple Betty might blow up a taste bud they are soooo good. Awesome staff, super value, and great selection. You can also call ahead the night before to order a larger order for your office/work & they’ll have it ready for you when you arrive. Take in a few dozen fresh blueberry donuts and EVERYONE at work will thank you.

I live in Oceanside, not far from Mr. Chows. Over the last year or so there were a couple of times I was given old donuts and that was a big turn off. Being a donut lover I took to Unilocal and found Danny’s in Vista. So worth the drive. These donuts are fresh and delicious!

We’ve been coming here for a couple of years after a search for a donut place that my husband and I could agree was worth the caloric splurge. Danny’s is the place. We initially tried the blueberry after reading all the great reviews and seeing an article that it ranked #6! In the nation for best donuts. The blueberry is good but we both think the white cake with sprinkles is where it’s at. Which is funny because I’m always a cake girl but my husband rarely is. Until he got his hands on mine from here. Now he’s a convert and when that quarterly urge for a donut comes up this is where we head. Have also tried the donut holes– they aren’t cake but more like a glazed donut. Nice and fluffy. They also have these huge Apple, cinnamon ones that look amazing if you like fritters ;). Looks like an old fashioned stand and seems to be family owned. Love that!

Danny’s Donuts is going to be on my mind any morning I find myself in Vista. They’re a great old school donut place. Their signature is the Apple Betty. It’s an apple pastry which is hard to describe but oh so good. Best I can do is to say its a cross between a cinnamon roll and a Dutch apple pie. They also make an outstanding blueberry doughnut. Parking is easy. Service is friendly and quick.

I think this place and Petersons ties for first place donuts in north county, and here is why. Even though Vista has been doing construction for years in this area, it has not deterred the locals from getting in there and keeping them in business. They are always open and always fresh! You know I have always liked them but the real clincher is they give them to a local shelter on the regular. That is appreciated as much as how they always keep the quality high and the donuts fresh!

Amazing donuts! Have had them on several occasions and they do not disappoint! Only suggestion is that if you’re going on a weekend, get there early! I went one Sunday around 10 and they were sold out of all of my favorites. PS Try the blueberry donuts, so amazing!!!

Had the pleasure of trying their baked goods yesterday and they did not disappoint! Everything we got was moist and yummy. The Apple Betty with mango is my favorite as well as the ham and cheese croissant with jalapeños! They also gave us a free blueberry donut as the lady in the counter says it’s their bestseller! I had a bite and it was so good! My boyfriend loves the original Apple Betty. Definitely a new favorite donut place!

So. Good. Your classic variety of maple bars, chocolate bars, etc. and some very unique and delicious donuts. Got a dozen for the office, though I could probably eat a dozen alone.

I came here from Rancho Cucamonga and I have to say it was worth the drive! The blueberry donut melted in my mouth and was AMAZING. I also think it is important to mention that the woman working at the front window was just amazing as the donut. She was so sweet and personable and added to the whole experience. We will be coming back… and soon!

If you’re looking a good donutery in NoCo, Danny’s Donuts is a good spot to check out. I’m not usually in Vista nowadays, but this place seems pretty new, and I hope it sticks around. The establishment is a small one. You walk up and see what you want in the window, ask the nice ladies, and you walk away with yummy foods. Based on the reviews, the apple betty was on my list. It is a must try. I’d liken it to a bear claw but in a more traditional bar form(with some foldy magic) and a nice cinnamon sprinkle. Unlike most bear claws that have that pre-made, McDonalds apple pie type filling, these things tasted more like real apple pie. Delicious. And the donut texture was just about perfect. Light, soft, and chewy. I know some people might not like them that way. I also got my standard Boston cream. A little sadly, it was on the small side. The custard filling was quite good though. If you’re looking to go here sometime soon(early 2016 for future readers), there’s a bunch of construction going on, so Santa Fe is one way going east. When you see the sign with arrow pointing to Danny’s, turn there or else you’ll have to practically make a loop around town to get back. Anyway, a solid 4 with potential. I’ll be back soon to try other things.

Came down during crazy construction and RAIN to find this hidden gem. BEST donut in north county is the Apple Betty. An amazing cinnamon-ny long donut trying to be a croissant and filled with apple pie filling. Its a mouth full of deliciousness! My other recommendation IMO is the blueberry donut. While waiting for my order happened to read their article that in the category of blueberry donuts, it rated 6th out of 25 best in the U.S. Its a cake donut and you can taste the blueberries– De-lish. I’ll be baaaack! WARNING: There are detours on this part of South Santa Fe in Vista. Construction should be finished around April 2016. Credit/debit cards accepted on minimum $ 10 orders.

Came here after not getting that 5-star donut flavor from Chow’s Donuts. Danny’s delivers! Apple Betty and Blueberry Muffin/Cake donut were insta-5-star donuts. French Crème Puff only available on Fri, Sat, Sun unfortunately. Great location, friendly staff, super cheap: $ 7 for half dozen. Parking right now is sort of a disaster due to construction, but you can drive through a dirt passage and park just about anywhere since you will be in and out in less than 2 minutes.

OHMYGOSH! We had some house guests over night and were needed a quick breakfast for a big group of boys, so I looked on Unilocal to find the closest GOOD(4+ rating at least!) since we are new in town, and came upon Danny’s Donuts. I drove down and mentioned to the gal behind the counter that it was my first time, and she was super nice and helpful! She gave me a few samples of their awesome donut and cream filled puffs, and suggested two donut types that they make special there, and MAN, I’m glad I listened!!! You HAVE to try their blueberry donuts AND their Apply Betty’s! I LOVE apple fritters, and the Apple Betty’s are like a cross between and apple fritter and a cinnamon roll! We also got a variety of their donuts, and one of our guests said that his plain glazed donut was better than Krispy Crème! This place is 100% worth a try!

I have been craving a donut for about a week now… I have heard of how good Danny’s donuts are and to get their blueberry glazed donut. SO. I tried it and it was OMG so good. It was fluffy, just the right amount of blueberry and basically tasted like a blueberry muffin but with a donut consistency. The glaze was amazing and not too overpowering. I would definitely buy my donuts from here again! It is under new ownership and the lady that owns it is super sweet. Go try them!!!
