I have been coming here since I was 3 years old. I love the peanut butter, chocolate and banana milk shake!

This is my go-to place for ice cream! My favorite is the Banana Split! I’ve been coming here every since I was little and absolutely enjoyed every time. This place is the heart of Vista. Very old school looking place. I love it! Pepper Tree has become so popular that wait time can sometimes be ridiculous! I just came here the other day and took my niece out for ice cream. We both got medium Chocolate sundae for $ 7.00. I thought it was a bit pricey for two little sundae’s but it was so YUM! They also serve food here on the side of the building. Never tried it but I sure smelt good outside lol

Came here with my boyfriend before our movie started at the cinepolis. They were kind of busy so we waitied a while to order. They have a really big menu, but my favorite are the classics(vanilla cone, chocolate shake etc.) I had a small banana split with vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream scoops. Pineapple, strawberry and fudge toppings with whipped cream and nuts on top, a banana split in half and a cherry on top. It was a lot even though it was a small. Super delicious! I loved every bite of it(:

This is the second time that we have tried to go to peppertree and they have been closed. Everyone was completely bummed out. We work on the building and there is no indication of what time they open or close. Unilocal are definitely an accurate. Very unfortunate. Hopefully one day we’ll be able to go and give them a review about their service and food.

Old school ice cream place! Their soft serve is awesome~ but don’t forget the food side… Philly cheesesteaks are the bomb! Love to support local Vista businesses;)

Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessstttttt! When it comes to old school ice cream and FOOD !! The best. Their boston milk shakes and pastrami sandwiches are hands down, the greatest I’ve ever had. Even the mexican food is to die for ! And that’s something hard to look for. I’m addicted to this place and I will forever be coming again and again

This place is a part of history for many locals. I grew up in Cardiff By the Sea and still came to Vista for Peppertree. Now I live in Vista and visit more often with my kin. Best food, best slushies, best everything. Check out the newspaper cartoon. Love it. At times there are lines, but you get the BEST service and food. I’m an inpatient person in general, YET this place is worth the wait. Keep in mind, if you go at off times there is no line. Time your trip there around rush times.

Don’t tell anyone about this place. It’s just too good. I had a chocolate marshmallow shake on a bad day and it honestly was a game changer. I haven’t tried the food yet but can’t wait!

This Vista Icon, is a must go to place when in North San Diego County. Delicious summer time treats. I wish they had this place out here in the mid west, I really miss it. I recommend this place.

Giving Sonic a run for their money. It’s a good old fashion shake and ice cream shop that also sells food. They several ice cream concoctions from floats, cream sodas, sundaes, shakes, slushy, or just a scoop of your favorite flavor. Just order at the window and they will call out your order. Next to their wishing well is an outdoor seating area to enjoy your frosty treats or one of their food options sold on the other side of the shop. Huge parking lot on the back I don’t think you’ll have trouble finding parking.

Wow I love this place, they make a great product and it beats having to go to sonics which is not as good and more expensive. I order there shakes which are great, cones, slushes which are all great. The only thing that I would say is the wait and the slowness of the staff which are a bunch of teenagers but they make great ice cream so I keep coming back. The food on the other side is great as well.

This place has been here for years and so has the lines of people waiting to order. If you want ice cream you have to order on the side closer to the street and if you want food you have to go to the other side closer to the tables. This is a true mom and pop that goes back for generations and hopefully they can stay here. I don’t come here a lot but when I do I usually get the marshmallow shake or the chocolate marshmallow shake. This place is famous for their ice cream shakes and what not but they’re also known for long lines which are ridiculously long. So yes the lines are long but it’s so worth it.

We love this place! Good old school ice cream and food joint. Lots of choices for ice cream and add ins and they have a window for food like chicken fingers, fries, sandwiches and more. It’s cute too how you walk up to the window to order!

Pepper tree is a legit ol skool type of Ice Cream joint complete with frostys, shakes, splits and delicious dipped ice cream cones. I mean, literally this place takes you back to your childhood on the streets of LA having only a couple cents in your pocket and wandering to get yourself a dipped cone. The ice cream is delicious and the walk up counter is awesome. Overall, highly recommended for this looking to get their ice cream fix. Pros– Overall dessert menu Taste Portions Promptness Ample outdoor seating Cons– A bit ghetto Can get crowded Kinda inefficient ordering scheme

3 star review. but if the service was better, it would’ve been 5 stars. I love little places like this. It’s basically an ice cream shack that’s been around forever… probably even longer than forever. There are three windows to order. The two in front are for ice cream and the one on the side is for food. We stood in line for ice cream… FOREVER. I could’ve bought a cow, milked it, and made ice cream before they actually took our order. There were three people working there, but it seems there was only one person at the ice cream part. After waiting and waiting and waiting.(did I mention we waited?) our order came. One kids cone, one kids cup, two dipped cones. I almost wanted to not like it. It would be easy to justify not returning, but I really enjoyed their ice cream. Enjoyed is an understatement. I loved it… and despite the weird ordering system, no true way of knowing who was next in line, and waiting forever for our order… I would still go back.

Peanut butter shake. Need i say more? Yes xl please. Its worth the probably 1200 calories. Its super thick and just enough peanut butter taste. The shakes are probably your best bet. The food probably wouldnt be the one to try it a 2nd time. I had a pastrami sandwhich. Na man not good. It looked as if it was microwaved way too long yes shouldnt be the case but it had a rubber taste and maybe a store bought brand. I mean dont expect food truck taste for the food. Dont judge on the food. Be sure to get the ice cream. Its a staple here in vista. Summer time its perfect. It would be supper cool if they replaced a shop next to the movies. The parking well plenty. But there is constant work on main street and a pain to turn in «Roadway to Unilocal elite»

As a child I would get so excited when dad would bring us here for a dipped ice cream. Now that I am grown this is just as good and nostalgic as day one. I am happy with the prices staying competivly low over the years and the ice cream creations can do no wrong. I had a small banana split tonight and I couldn’t finish it. The negative is the secret is out as most locals and now thanks to Unilocal knows there is always a wait… but there is a reason. Its like waiting in line for a ride where you know the thrill is worth it in the end.

Cheap, old fashioned DELICIOUS ice cream. First time here tonight and I was not disappointed. I’ve probably driven by this place a thousand times and never in my right would have ever thought about stopping until my boyfriend told me this was a Vista local hotspot and famous locally for great ice cream. From the outside the place looks like a little hole in the wall, tiny, pretty old beat up shop. But upon stumbling here, I see what all the fuss is about. They have the best ice cream, sundaes, shakes you name it. I paid about $ 4.50 for a «blondie» sundae, that had a cookie square on the bottom, a GIANT single GIANT scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, whipped cream as high as the ice cream and hot fudge covered in nuts. Yum. My boyfriend got the banana split and I couldn’t believe how great the strawberry ice cream tasted and I don’t even like strawberry ice cream really. This place has everything from $ 2 soft serve, chocolate, butterscotch dipped cones to shakes to sundaes to frozen bananas. All for under about $ 5. Perfect if you ask me!

If you see a long line, don’t ask questions, JUST get in line! I’m so glad this North County Gem is still around because it has been around for multiple decades! I came here with a friend mainly because I’ve been craving ice cream, more like Sherbert, but decided against it because the Brownie Sundae sounded wayyyy better. It doesn’t matter what time it is because at 8 pm on Sunday there was a good 25 people waiting in line to get their sweet treat fix on and wouldn’t let the construction detour them. Everything was on point and the staff is super hilarious, nice, and fast workers! I want to try the banana split next, but if you want a simple yummy treat which everything is wonderful, a chocolate dipped cone satisfies the sugar monster!
