Have seen a few Sonics but never had the desire to drive in and try anything until tonight! My sweet tooth prevailed so I opt for an Oreo Blast! It seems to be the same idea behind an Oreo cookie Blizzard from(DQ) but it’s a bit smoother and not as many chunky cookie bites which I prefer. All in all it was still yummy and hit the sweet tooth spot! :) I also nabbed an order or Chili Cheese fries which surprised me as being way too small. It came wrapped in a hot dog holder but regardless of the portion it was actually rather hearth and good. The other menu items didn’t sound too appealing to me so this review is just for the blizzard & Chili Cheese Friesssss! All in all my two items were delicious but only 4 stars for too few Oreos and the meager portion of Chili Fries. Up the portion size and I’ll UP my review stars!

Had a #1 combo with vanilla diet coke and a mini Oreo cheesecake shake. Drive thru was fast and we had great service from Linsi. Not sure what everyone is complaining about. Maybe we got lucky? Recommend going on the«off» hours so they can focus on your order for quick service

My first time coming here was better than I expected. The food that’s pretty much like jalapeño peppers was delicious. It was nice and hot. The outside was still crunchy. The cheese inside was nicely melted along with the spicyness of the jalapeño. My burger was just as great. Had what was like a spicy chicken burger. Glad I had a cold drink due to my limitations with spicy foods. The ranch dip was the least of my favorite. It tasted artificial and something you get from the grocery store.

Pepto Bismol and Sonic should get into business together. Create one of their drink mixtures with antacids and a cherry flavor perhaps. I do appreciate the fact that the food stays with you all day and most of the night. Nothing says yummy all day in my tummy more than Sonic. On a positive note they have a great kids menu. Oh wait, that is the whole menu. They even have people, well angry teens, on roller skates. It’s like a carnival with out all the fun. Save yourself some money because this carnival is expensive. Your body will thank you for taking a PASS on GAS filling food.

I usually have neutral feelings about Sonic but tonight really disappointed me. I ordered the #11 which states it comes with gravy(which is the reason that I order it) and the photo shows the gravy. We get our food and my box has no sauce. My husband presses the order button and asks for gravy and they say they no longer serve gravy with the box. Then it took the guy 7 minutes to get us ranch and hot sauce(mind you there was only 1 other car there) and lastly the chicken strip tasted like they have been sitting for hours. Will not be back here.

Hard to see menus. Cool girls on skates. Decent hot dogs. Good jalapeño poppers. Construction on street for a few months… Santa Fe is one way now do be careful which way you turn.

this sonic has terrible service and terrible food. every time I come here I always order their slushes and they NEVER mix the flavors with the ice. so I always just get an ice slush with zero flavor. they have never once gotten my order right! I will be happy to state that they do fix their errors and let you keep whatever food they gave you, plus giving you what you actually ordered for free, as they should. you have to wait at least 10 minutes for someone to actually answer after you push the button. are they understaffed? do the managers not care about how badly they suck? After giving this location so many chances, it’s safe to say I will be making the drive to San Marcos from now on if I want Sonic…

I’ve given this location a few shots but I won’t again. I’ll drive to San Marcos instead. Trip 1– ordered a «kid’s cheeseburger meal with fries and a lemon berry slush» manager argued that I didn’t order a kids meal because«I didn’t say wacky pack.» I go to places where the folks barely speak English and kids meal seems to be universal terminology… except for here. I just wanted the kids toy for my son. Forget that they over charged me for a adult sized fry and slush. Irked me that the manager came out and argued when I didn’t make a big deal of it. Was just honestly confused. Trip 2– they«ran out of tots» wtf? That’s like Mc Donald’s running out of fries. Or meat patties. After reading other reviews seems like a common theme here. The kicker was the guy stating they had«been out all day.» Don’t understand how that happens. Get your crap together. Way overpriced for mediocre fast food and poor customer service The ONLY positive thing I can say is that Josh the server is awesome. He’s polite and kind. He’s served us a couple of times and I always recognize him. Hope they keep him– bout the only thing they have going for them here!

They suck. Um hello you run an ice cream store and you’ve been out of spoons all day… and your manager doesn’t do something about it? Something’s wrong. We need spoons for ice cream, people! You got some genius employees working there. P. s. Last week they ran out of straws. Inventory manager is a pro!

A few weeks back, at the Mother Earth Brewventure Event, Bill P. was talking about how the carhops at Sonic a few blocks away would actually skate orders down to the brewery when they were called in(sadly, this practice is no longer in effect). Hearing the story gave me an inexplicable craving for Sonic’s tater tots, so I walked down to order some. While the tots at least were crispy, and the price was about right(under $ 3 for a large order), the whole ordering process was a pain in the rear. It took a while for someone to answer the intercom from the patio, and I had to practically yell my order into the speaker(similar to how I ordered my meal when my girlfriend and I went to the Sonic location near her place). Also, it took a while for my order to be ready — how hard is it to get an order of tater tots? Still, not that bad as it appears — consider this review a 2.5 star.

The food here is pretty good, on par with most Sonic’s. The service however is so bad it’s difficult to believe. Each time I’ve been here there has been some new and unique issue. This time it seemed as if the gentleman taking my order was being intentionally dense, turning the simple process of ordering fast food into a 5 minute ordeal.

read my other post because I’m still too bitter and frustrated. They don’t care about the employees. I was a fantastic worker and in two years had three or four managers. This last one force quit me. From 5 days a week. I only needed 18 hours to meet BASIC life necessities, without including food. And she made sure the high schoolers still living with their parents, had the equivalent. I have no home, no job, one cat ran away and the other one sticks around. My grandparents have no money and I’m stuck staying at their house. I just wanted to be assistant manager, I asked for training. This blows, I just want to be independent and take care of my grandparents. I want to do good things and sonic sucks and I hope it burns to the ground without my help. But they suck. And the food isn’t healthy and the amount of time It takes to drive, park, wait, eat, and leave, you could have had a filling, healthy, and inexpensive meal at home :) screw sonic seriously. They sexually harass the employees, con friendly naïve people like me into paying them money because they steal orders and you come up short. Did I mention they drink and smoke weed on the job? Let me live one fight in life. Because I am the best worker and I love doing things and gaining experience. And People shouldn’t have to put up with bullshit in general. End rant.

Nathan was our waiter and he was fabulous. Great customer service! He was very patient and took the time to help us decide what to order. I will definitely be going back to sonic. Food was yummy!

NOCOSTERMERSERVICE. The manager tried to punk me and get me to SNAP! I had a coupon buy one get one free hamburger. He continued to repeat my order wrong over the speaker. Asked him to come outside to write the order down, so he did. He then sent a car hop another person out with the wrong oder again. He’s the one who got punked. I sent the hamburgers back(didn’t pay) and got my coupon back. They where very busy. I’m glad to waste there time and money. I tried to give the car hop a tip and she said no thanks and was sorry for the jerk manager behavior. Costumer service Not Good! Help get these franchises out of vista !!!Boycott!!!

Not impressed! I’m not that person that complains about their Food and have the restaurant remake everything. But, the food took a little long to get to us and when they got to us the Damn food was cold/slightly warm. Impressions mean everything to me, and when your first impression is cold. We are not going to get along at all. I’m probably not going to be eating at Sonics in a while.

I’ve never been to Sonic before. I’ve seen the goofy commercials, seen new ones under construction all over California and was always curious about the place On Saturday, while waiting at a traffic signal, I saw the Sonic girl skating across the parking lot and decided it was time to try Sonic. NEVERAGAIN! The call button was out of order or dysfunctional. Whatever the case, no Sonic employee knew about it, none reported it, the restaurant manager doesn’t know about it, and maintenance hasn’t fixed it. Anyway, it took a very long time to get the order taker to respond to my call. When the attendant finally took my order, he screwed it up. Apparently, when one orders NOONIONS, it means MOREONIONS. When one orders MINITOTS, out means MEDIUMTOTS. When one orders NOMAYONNAISE, it means NOCONDIMENTSATALL. Cashier #118 is either deaf, dumb or stoned. In any case, someone not suited for work in fast food. Neither is the restaurant manager who hired Cashier #118, for this“manager” is also ignorant of basic operational maintenance, especially when it comes to the function of revenue generating devices such as call buttons on the drive in stations. Furthermore, this manager failed to maintain an adequate supply of onions for onion rings, as I was informed by Cashier #118 that they ran out of onion rings on this fine Saturday afternoon. I’d also like to know what is so special about the water that comes out of your faucets that you would charge TWENTYCENTS for a cup of water. Is it because the water tastes like it came out of a garden hose? Is it because you gave me a straw? I’m perplexed because NONEOFYOURCOMPETITORSCHARGETHISPREMIUMFORWATER. When I finally got my order, the tots were cold and without ketchup(who eats tots without ketchup?), I was given no napkins(perhaps there’s a surcharge for napkins, like the water), and the burger reminds me of the space-age, foil-wrapped, microwaved burgers they served at swap meets and drive-in theaters long ago… a fatty patty on a wet bun. YUCK! Driving away disappointed, I drove across the street to see FIVEGUYSBURGERS&FRIES and realized what a mistake I just made. I should have gone there and spent the same amount of money(they don’t charge for water or napkins) and got a much better meal. Actually, as I think about it, there were at least 5 places I could have gone in the immediate area for a better burger. So there you go. Sonic of Vista. A big FAIL for y’all. You’ll never see me again.

I had heard awesome things about this place and especially their shakes, but my first time at a Sonic was merely ok. Hubby and I pulled into a drive up and studied the menu. We wanted a shake and, on a whim, ordered some buffalo wings. It took about 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The Hot Fudge Shake was pretty good, the buffalo wings were a bit too greasy and spicy for me, but I’m not a huge fan of spicy buffalo wings in the first place. I like the concept of this place, the drive up or drive thru window with the car hops on skates bringing your food out, very cute. I just wish they’d speed up the service a bit. The place looked deserted and the food took too long to come out.

Finally popped my Sonic virginity ;D I felt like a little kid again, so easily amused and amazed coming here. When we pulled up in the parking lot they have tons of ordering intercom screens at every parking spot. Once you complete your order, a girl comes out on 4 wheel roller skates and brings your food to your car. AMAZING0__0 we have nothing like this back in Hawaii. The Grub. [[ SONICCHEESEBURGER $ 5.99 ]] I have to admit this burger is WAY better then McDonalds. [[ BAGELSANDWICH $ 5.29 ]] Not too much of a fan of this. [[ SUPERCRUNCHCHICKENSTRIPDINNER $ 5.99 ]] Comes with 4 strips of chicken, texas toast, tots, 1 onion ring, and country gravy. I just had to order this so I could get a little taste of everything. Thought it was hilarious that it only came with 1 onion ring. Overall my first experience here was really good. Everything we ordered was yummy and I LOVE how they have this roller skating thing going on. I also like how the meals comes with tots rather than french fries! Cant wait for my next California visit to eat more Sonic! Or maybe if I’m lucky they will open one in Hawaii. :3
