Hughen Plastering

I am updating this rating to a 3 as Pat contacted me and apologized for the mishandling of the project. He offered to work with me on the project again and explained that he had bigger projects he had already signed up which clashed with my dates.
He said that he thought my project was going to start a couple of days later than we had originally agreed on and the new dates would have clashed with his other projects. This was avoidable — I had only proposed a two day delay to give me time to arrange a few things — if I was told that this was enough to slip his schedules, I could have easily gone back to the agreed upon date.
Hopefully, in the future, he does a better job of communicating with his customers (instead of just backing out abruptly) so that they can at least know which dates clash and try to work out mutually acceptable dates.

While looking for a plaster/​stucco company to remove my existing wood-​rotted siding and replace with stucco, I came across Hughen Plastering. After calling a few local companies for bids, Hughen’s bid came in right in the ballpark. Another local company with favorable Unilocal reviews (JRP) came by to evaluate the job. But after sending multiple texts and calls to JRP, I never did received the promised quote which is disconcerting.
Thankfully I chose Hughen Plastering and Pat and his crew did a great job. Even though the start date was a few weeks out, they showed up and completed the job on the exact dates Pat had scheduled and in the promised time frame. The work area was thoroughly cleaned each day after work was completed. I would definitely recommend Hughen Plastering to anyone with stucco or plastering needs.

Hughen came and provided a recoloring of our stucco exterior. The house is 4700 sq ft so it was a big job for $ 3800. We got an independent quote on paint for $ 5300 from guys we don’t even think were licensed. The surface they applied is meant to recoat stucco so it can still breathe (water splashed on it looks matte where it beads on paint). The crew was extremely polite, professional, responsive and courteous. Before the work, they brought several samples they had made for us, and applied to textured boards so we could pick the right one. After that, they tested it on several areas so we could see how it looked front and back in different lighting. I asked them after the fact how any future damage might be touched up and they offered to touch up whenever or to bring materials for us to do it ourselves. Service was performed promptly. They did a great job and our windows and decking (both brand new) emerged unscathed. The color looks great and is uniform. The only thing that I can say was not totally perfect was a bit of fascia board paint came off with the masking tape used to screen it in one area and a few small rocks we used as ground cover got a spot or two – big deal. We would definitely do it again.

Pat and his crew did an excellent job with the lath, scratch coat, brown coat, and the stucco work on my «man cave». His price is reasonable. His crew shows up when they say they will. They clean up after each step in the process. Pat was very patient with my wife and I to come up with the right stucco color. Pat even applied test samples help us decide the winning color. The job was completed ahead of schedule. Pat and his crew take great pride in what they do. I recommend Hughen Plastering to anyone without hesitation.

Pat is a fantastic contractor! Reliable, trustworthy, punctual, capable, and affordable. We needed some water damaged stucco on our home repaired, as it was cracked and crumbling and the metal strip along the bottom of the house was rusted. He came to our home twice to provide a free estimate, once to me and once to my husband. His price was very fair compared to other estimates we received. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done. He was honest and open about the job, pointing out where other contractors will up charge. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the work he would do before beginning.
His contractor team showed up promptly on the day they were scheduled to work, and were polite and efficient. They even dug up some of my plants and replanted them when finished to ensure they didn’t get trampled! The work was finished in just one day, and Pat came by the next day to check on their work. He touched up some details I was unhappy with, and assured me that since his work comes with a lifetime warranty, he is glad to come out and fix anything if necessary.
