Super Supplements

Stopped in for some BCAA’s to use at the gym and wander around since it’s kinda close to work. Was asked for help twice, but was fine on my own and they left me alone after that :) I liked that! Lots of options, prices are a little more spendy than amazon, but not by much and the fact that you have it now and not in a week is nice, so I’ll buy from them when I can.
Overall, nice place and prefer it over GNC at the mall; those people just want to sell you on everything and not leave you alone, ugh…

I’ve found the exact protein powder at Super Supplements, the exact flavor, the exact weight over $ 20.00 cheaper than GNC. Why do I need to buy a Goldcard and so on the third Thursday of the month to get 20% of an item or wait for a sale? The employees have always been helpful at the Tacoma store I visit and have answered my questions. I do not go anywhere else anymore since discovering Super Supplements. And I never gets harassed about «Do you have a Goldcard?»

Super Supplements in Tacoma is an above-​average health center. It’s clean and usually well staffed. Super Supplements is a notch below Vitamin Shoppe in terms of variety and options, but they aren’t far behind. They stock lots of cruelty free body care products and have many vegetarian/​vegan options in terms of supplements. They best any GNC you can think of in terms of variety. Additionally, their pricing is typically the best when compared to GNC and Vitamin Shoppe.
I’m dinging them a couple stars for a few reasons. For one, they rarely have a good clearance sale. Call me a tightwad, but weight training and body maintenance can get very spendy. Especially with the explosion of products in the last 5 years, and while there is a lot of good products flooding the market for sports nutrition, there is also a lot of overpriced overhyped crap. So, when you aren’t sure how you’ll like something, dropping $ 20 – 50 on a powder of micronized anabolics can give one immense pause. One reason I utilize GNC so often is they are often rotating stock and have AMAZING deals on product. It’s a great way to get your feet wet, so to speak. Super Supplements is the kind of place where, if the price is right and it happens to be in stock, you go in for a specific item. Secondly, often I find the Tacoma one has «holes» in their shelves (no product in stock). I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone into the Tacoma store and found a blank spot where a bottle should be. Either they sell an insane amount, or they only order a handful a month. That kind of inconsistency will drive one to other stores quick. And third, every time I’ve been in they’ve had a fairly unprofessional staff. I’m no prude, but hearing their workers drop F-​bombs and talk about their sexual escapades at the kiosk can give off a fairly unprofessional feel, no?
There isn’t too much more I’d like to say. Super Supplements has a good selection (if it’s actually in stock) and their prices are pretty good on any given day. They best GNC in selection and Vitamin Shoppe in terms of pricing. If you know what you want, this is the kind of place to utilize.

i visted this store to buy some supplements for myself.
so was greeted by a friendly smile unlike gnc where the atmosphere is kinda cold and you get the hardsell to but there goldcard. oh well this store differs in a bigway they get it. great customer service, was told by the assoc that if i order this item online i will not only get halfoff the store price i get it delivered free at the store to pickup very nicely done, then a fews days later i get a friendly call telling me my order has
i went there and was greet friendly and they had my order ready for me and away i went happy and will send all my friends to super supplements fantastic service thanks again

A good choice for getting all your supplements, protein products and a strong selection of organic/​natural toiletries. This branch of Super Supplements is larger than the one in Federal Way. Each month different brands go on sale, and the savings are usually substantial enough to compete with large on-​line retailers.
I tend to be able to find slightly harder to find items such as ubiquinol or Crystal Star brand here. Their selection is slightly larger than Marlene’s, my other choice for supplements in Tacoma.
However — and this is a big however — the quality of employee product knowledge varies wildly. That’s one of Marlene’s huge benefits over SS. If you don’t know what you need/​are looking for, the staff at Marlene’s is far more educated and they have some good reference books on site.
Super Supplements has punch cards. Normally I love punch cards… but the bennies aren’t as good as the coupons they replaced. So… even though I’m a punch card ho these don’t excite me.

I found the employees not really interested in my well being. I was ignored it seems due to the conversation that the employees were having about a fired employee from another store. I found my products on my own and without any help from an employee.
I found this to be really unprofessional. I will shop when I am in town at Vitamin Shoppe.
