I agree that everyone needs a vacation, but being one of the very few hardware stores in Newton, maybe someone can be staffed there during vacation. It’s October 20th and the sign on the door reads that they’ll be back open on November 3rd. Back into the truck I go, driving around looking for another hardware store. Can’t give them fewer stars because I’m sure they are fine people. Just an inconvenience at this time.

It’s is possible to get so many household and yard tools and necessities right here on Beacon St., at an heirloom independent hardware store. Avoid searching in aisles at a hundred versions of what you are looking for, endlessly deliberating, with lots of time on the checkout line to keep on deliberating. They probably have it here and you’ll be in and out in a pleasant way with free on the street parking.

Very convenient location and helpful store manager. Old school décor but spotless. We try to support our local businesses, not the big box retailers.

From the original 1920’s Linseed oiled floors, up to the neatly ordered rows of merchandise, this old world, vintage hardware store survives. Looking for something special, or not, give this shop owner a try. If anything grab a set of batteries for all your stuff.

Old School Hardware Store! I love the place! It is run by the nicest old man. I worry he will die and the place will close! It is excellent! If you need it he has it.
