I had brunch here with a friend and the waiter added my friends tip plus extra to my bill. When I called to get my money back I was told to come up to the bar and get it but since I’m not local a check was suppose to be mailed. It’s been two weeks and no check has showed up in my mailbox. In the end I paid $ 18 for 3 pancakes and a water.

I’ve been going to Barnett’s for a while and felt like it was time to give an honest review(especially now that it’s under new ownership). They have an excellent selection of beer, cider, and liquor. The bartenders are very polite and do a wonderful job of not only serving patrons, but of answering any questions about the drinks that are served. (Shoutout to Kirby, our bartender for tonight, who did an excellent job!) Now onto the food(they have a new menu): Chips & Queso: I was born and raised in Texas, and I take my queso pretty seriously. I can say in all honesty Barnett’s has the best queso in Waco, second only to Torchy’s green chile queso. Fuego’s, Chuy’s, and other restuarants I’ve visited in town come in a very, very distant third. Nachos: Excellent! Chips, sour cream, chives, jalapenos, bacon, and queso drizzled on top! Very delicious! Baked Brie: Baked sliced brie, toasted bread, apples, and season preserves. The apples were crisp and the toasted bread was fresh. Both the brie and the preserves were wonderful. Spinach Artichoke Dip: Made from scratch and brilliant. S’more Kit: Awesome, amazing, and inventive? S’mores at a pub, seriously? Such a good idea. I’ve also had the Italian Stallion and Bratwurst on previous occasions and both were great and absolutely filling. I added a picture of their new menu pulled from their Facebook page to give you an idea on pricing and what they’re offering now. All the appetizers that I’ve had their easily feed 3 – 4 people, and were not only delicious but presented well. I would say other dishes like the Italian Stallion would feed 2. I seriously can’t recommend this place enough, and would suggest that if you’ve been here before you come back to try the new menu. 5⁄5

$ 11 for a margarita? I’ll choose Shorty’s margaritas for less than 4 However really cool atmosphere, had live music and a good pub feel.
