Not impressed at all. The staff was great but the pizza was terrible. I had the gluten free which is one of the worst I have tasted! It was like eating cardboard that was soft. No flavor or crispness. My wife had the thin and said it was more a flat bread then a thin crust. Very soft and no flavor. Unfortunately the bar has been set high with places like rev and mod and this just did not deliver.

Burgers were really good! Onion rings good too. Fries — not good at all. And they put sugar on them? Ice seemed to have odd taste too — made from local unfiltered water? My advice — get two burgers to go, grab some fries at McDonalds and take it home to eat with a beer.

While road tripping with my Renegade Run Club we can upon this yummy burger place. Burgers were juicy and had that good grease taste. Surprisingly the French fries were seasoned with a but of sugar… it’s a matter of choice. Some in my group loved it, others chose not to eat them. Sweet Potato fries were tasty tasty:)

Drive from Austin to eat this burger, more than once. We believe Dave’s to be better than all the best burgers in Austin. And because they grind their own burger meat I can order medium rare.

Got the bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg on top, and a side of onion rings. Egg was a little overcooked, but other than that the burger was delicious. Onion rings in my opinion were a little too battered. Great environment, 2 big screen TVs, one in each corner. Overall a great place to eat and relax.

Tasty place. Good burger and fries. There is a pic posted of tater tots but that photo lies. No tater tots.

I order jalapeño cheddar burger, which did not disappoint. It wasn’t busy on a Sunday afternoon, so the burger came out fast, but fresh and hot. The jalapeños were also fresh and hot, not the pickled vinagery kind. I also ordered the sweet potato fries, which I highly recommend. They are just crisp enough and not mushy. It was a great place to stop and definitely cured my craving for a nice grilled burger.

We found this little place with Unilocal while on our way to Kansas from Austin. Excellent small but flavorful burgers, and the very best crispy yet not over cooked sweet potato fries that I have ever had! The décor is sort of 1950’s style. The music is good and the staff was very friendly. Great food served up by good kids in a nice, clean restaurant. Not cheap, but worth every cent and not stupid expensive. You get what you pay for. Dave’s service, food, and atmosphere is worth it. We will definitely be back. This place is on my I-35 pit stop list now. Check it out!

We ordered the jalapeño burger, cheese burger, chicken fried steak and chicken basket. Overall burgers had best flavor. The sweet potatoes fries were okay they were a bit burned but still good. The fries and chips had a sweet seasoning that my daughter’s didn’t like. Friendly, clean and in our budget. Would definitely return.

Nice burgers! Fries came a bit sugared… if I can order them next time without sweetness then I’ll be super happy. Serious kudos for the service: baskets came out to the people who ordered them. And my daughter had ordered sans tomatoes.. basket came with tomatoes but was not allowed to hit the table… server noticed while it was still in her hand and took it back. You won’t get that a many burger joints.

Definitely one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. There’s nothing extra special about the place other than the«Zipper Ripper Challenge»(burger challenge where you must 5 patties, 5 slices of cheese, 5 strips of bacon, 1 lbs of fries, & a drink in 12 minutes or less). The restaurant and ordering process reminds me of «Five Guys». The only difference and advantage is that these burgers are WAY better. I got the double burger w/a fried egg and avocado on top and my taste buds exploded on the first bite! I couldn’t get that sandwich in my belly fast enough! Coupled with some sweet potato fries and I had a meal I’d never forget. This place has been bookmarked so I can return whenever I am visiting Waco again. A must try!

Found this little place on the road trip to Austin last weekend. Thanks Unilocal for helping us find this. The burgers were really good(one fried chicken sandwich, one burger, one grilled chicken). Lots of options. We ordered a side of fries, potato fries and onion rings. I have to say these were probably the best onion rings I’ve had in a long time. Not sure how they do it, but onion actually breaks where you bite it off(not like others where it just pulls out of the batter). The batter was really good and crispy, without being burned. The atmosphere is a little basic, but I think it adds to the diner style environment. Staff were friendly, which is always a nice thing. Saw the option to eat their monster burger(you have 12 minutes), and even the teenager with us thought it was a little too much to try :-) Definitely an artery clogger if you take the challenge.

Came in with party of four in front of me; that’s all. I placed an order for ONE cheeseburger with fried egg. It took them 15 mins to get one burger done and when they handed me the bag I noticed they forgot the fried egg. Really? How hard is it to get a one burger order right. Not to mention in a timely manner. On top of that the burgers at In-and-Out are much better and cheaper. $ 5.19 for a small cheeseburger? In Waco? Really? Oh well; I don’t plan on visiting this place again.

Great food, great atmosphere, and one of the few places in Waco with a food challenge. Located in out-of-the-way Lacy-Lakeview but worth it once you discover it. This place started out in a tiny building and a couple of years ago they built the«barn» around it and expanded its capacity probably tenfold. Their signature burgers, fries, onion rings and homemade potato chips are all excellent, and they have hot dogs, chopped barbecue sandwiches, and other items on the menu as well. You can get almost anything added to your burger, even a fried egg! The food challenge: You must consume a «Zipper Ripper», which consists of 5 meats, 5 slices of cheese, 5 strips of bacon, and all vegetables, plus an entire pound of fries and a drink, in twelve minutes. Succeed, and your picture goes on the Wall of Fame and you receive a T-shirt for your efforts; fail, and your picture goes on the Wall of Shame(significantly bigger than the Wall of Fame, for good reason) and you’ll be coughing up $ 19.99 to cover the grief you caused the place. They don’t serve alcohol here, so don’t come expecting it; however, it is rumored that they will eventually build a second location over by Baylor(17th street I think) and that the new location will serve alcohol. Four stars instead of five because it is EXPENSIVE. Even the add-ons are steep.

Stopped here on my way from Austin — Dallas. Cute atmosphere, great service, great food. Burgers were excellent… Chicken strips as well. Chili was probably the best I’ve had in a long time. Prices are reasonable as well. The challenge looked fun as well, but intimidating!

Hearty burgers and hot dog options for your road trip! Stopped here on the way from Austin to Dallas for lunch. 2 burgers, onion rings and a drink will run you about $ 15– pricer than you’d expect but it was good food. There’s a food challenge for those who dare: 5×5 + 1lb fries + large soda. Under xxx minutes(can’t remember how long) and if you finish you get your photo on the hall of fame. Fail, pay $ 20 and be seen on the hall of shame!

This place is a great for a burger and easy direct access from I-35 on the south boundside. It’s maybe 1.5 miles or less I-35. My supervisor and I were on our way back home to Austin from Dallas. Needless to say we left at the wrong time. We hit traffic getting out of Dallas and on the way down we managed to hit all the construction traffic. For me all I could do was think about food on the way back home. Hey I have a tapeworm that likes to eat. Anyways I told my boss to Unilocal dinner and no franchise stuff since i was driving. He found this great restaurant! The location is right next to a park with a field and a playground. Definitely a bonus if you have kids and on a road trip. When I walked in they had plenty of seating available. The wait was not long at all. I think we spent less than 25 minutes here. Hey we are veterans so we know how to eat fast while on the go. Anyways our food I want to say took about 10 minutes or less. It was fresh! We got the double meat with bacon, cheese, and everything else on it. I ordered the seasoned fries. They didn’t look seasoned when I got them but they definitely tasted like they were! Staff was very friendly and helpful when I asked about their free wifi access. They gave me their guest password and offered to help me if I needed any assistance. So a plus in my book for even keeping your guest password secure and not wide open to the public. The facility overall is very clean and so were their bath rooms! Oh and they have the hall of fame and shame wall for their famous Zipper burger special! Triple patty with everything on it and a pound of fries but you have to eat it all less 12 minutes! I am going to here on an empty stomach and try it out!

Great menu. Big and high quality portions. It’s just a block off of I35 and well worth it. Chicken sandwich was huge and yummy. Wife had a burger and said it was old school awesome. This is a small town burger joint and had a lot of locals eating in there. We will be back next time we are road tripping to Dallas.

This place is right off I-35 and is a great lunch stop. Service: The service was great! The casher made a couple jokes with my friends and I, and offered me a cup for water when I didn’t order a drink. The food came out in a couple minutes. They got my order wrong, but in a good way. Instead of a triple meat burger, they made me a triple cheeseburger, so I got $ 1 worth of fries for free! They were very sorry for messing up for burger and offered to make me another one(even though it was like 8:40 — 20 minutes from closing time for them), but I was fine with what I got, so all’s well. Food: I ordered the triple meat burger and a small fries, but after getting the triple cheeseburger, I was in a good mood eating my food. The fries were lightly salted and tasted extremely fresh and new. The buns were deliciously buttered, the meat was solid, and the vegetables/cheese complemented the meat and buns deliciously. And the food came in a plastic basket and made the food look appealing. Environment: The place was spacious enough for a good crowd. There were two TVs showing two different things(2 different basketball games while I was there). The lighting was subpar, maybe because they were close to closing. I paid $ 10.48 for my rather large burger and a small fries. I wish I had seen the Zipper Ripper food challenge(5 patties, 5 pieces of bacon, and a pound of fries in under 12 minutes, $ 20 if you don’t succeed) because I definitely would have given that a shot. For the price I paid and the satisfaction of being very full, I’ll most certainly come back to try the food challenge and/or get a scrumptious burger.

I’m in town for the holiday and wanted to grab a burger from a local place. As usual I turned to Unilocal for help and was not led wrong. The home style fries were salted well, fresh and not greasy. Very good. I got a cheeseburger and it was excellent. The meat was flavorful with no gristle. I got my order to go and it came out in a few minutes. The inside of Dave’s was really clean. A double thumbs up all the way around.
