Good prices, lots of food, and quick service! Never disappointed with the quality of food!

Sad Wok!!! After waiting for a dine in order for 30 minutes, I only knew because the folks 10 minutes after me were served then the guy gave us carry out plates. The sweet and sour pork was too bread like and the rice too chewy. They usually are ok at best I will never know because I won’t go back. Hey rude guy in KC hat get it together!

Decent, cheap, fast! Fast food Chinese made by real Chinese people! Family owned! Spacious! Dine in or take out! Really good Kung pao chicken and amazing sweet sweet tea!

First time here! I agree with other post that it’s the best in Waco! Kung Pao chicken was very good, you get a lot. Hot and Sour soup was tasty as well. Ice Tea was served in a large plastic to go container, lid was a challenge to get off. No ice. Very clean inside, very plain. I will go back for sure!

This is the best Chinese food in Waco. American style reminiscent of New York style Chinese food. I live in Dallas, originally from Waco and can’t find this style anywhere. Disregard the customer service, there is a culture and language barrier and may come off as rude to some. The food is way worth it if you order from the main menu minus the western dishes. Truly a gem in the midst of the other mediocre Asian restaurants in Waco, looking at you Cathay house.

This place was really good! My husband and I have been looking for a good place to call our«go to» Chinese place and I think this place will be it. The food is cooked when ordered so it’s piping hot and fresh and the menu has a large selection. It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the place is clean and the food is tasty.

We went to Happy Wok after reading the Unilocal reviews. The place is immaculately clean on the inside. We were a bit nervous at the drive-up. The sweet tea is served in large to-go containers and is so sweet and lemony, it is difficult to drink much of it. I asked for unsweetened tea when I ordered, but was told by the lady at the counter that I wanted the sweet tea. I also attempted to order a Chicken Chow Mein, but she told me I really wanted the Lo Mein. I should have stood my ground on both of these. The food portions are also huge. Food was above average. We ordered four sweet teas, a soda, and five combo meals(entrée, rice, and egg roll) for six people. The bill was right at $ 50, but we could have gotten away with half of this. We left with three full containers of tea and two full to-go boxes of food. This is what you would expect from a fast Chinese food restaurant, but nothing more.

Best traditional American-Chinese food in Waco, Texas. Period. And I have been searching a LOOOoooong time around these parts for a place to call good, hell, even decent would suffice, but low and behold, an angel appeared and sent my butt on over to Happy Wok! Huge variety on the menu. Hot food, cooked upon ordering. Large, clean area to sit and enjoy your food. Or wait for it. I have tried multiple dishes here and all have been good. No delivery, but it’s worth the drive. The Asian lady that works(maybe owns the place??) works her arse off! She is the real deal! I have been told the sweet tea is some of the best in town. I am not a sweet tea gal, but I have had multiple people swear on it. Downsides…And this is my $.02…the hot and sour soup is too vinegary(not sure that’s a word) and the meat to vegetable ratio favors vegetables more than meat. But again, those are my personal preferences and are not used against the score. Please do not waste your time on some of the other establishments in town that don’t know what they are doing. Or have shady people preparing your food(*cough Magic China cough cough*). Great place! Give it a try!

Everything… every — single — thing… I’ve tried on their menu is delicious! Moo shu pork, roast pork & broccoli, sweet & sour chicken, beef lo mein, friend dumplings… all of it is so good. One thing… while the service isn’t exactly friendly, it’s not unfriendly either. What they are is unflaggingly efficient, which makes up for any lack of friendliness. I cannot recommend this place enough! It’s the best Asian food restaurant in Waco!

Delicious, delicious, delicious! Best Chinese food in all of Waco, hands down. Best in central Texas, period! Try the steamed pork dumplings, moo goo gai pan is my husband’s favorite. I haven’t had a bad dish here, except for the Moo Shu. I didn’t know it was cabbage; not a fan of that. Exceptional foods & service. I won’t eat Chinese anywhere else ever again!

Love this place. It’s close to our house, food is cooked to order and very tasty. Portions are good sized. We particularly like their steamed dumplings and egg foo young. Four stars are because the dining area is open and a little cold.

When I think of authentic chinese food, this hits the spot! Walking in, it’s not very impressive looking or fancy, but the food always comes out in 10 – 15 minutes and the servings are great size! Definitely recommend their Singapore noodles and seafood with garlic sauce!

Another local American-Chinese fast food restaurant located in North Waco. This place was a nice little find as they serve dishes more reminiscent of actual Chinese/Hong Kong style dishes compared to other«Chinese» places in Waco. I have enjoyed their fried chicken wings, seafood delight, mapo tofu, and fried rice. All of the meals were tasty and quite delicious but not the best I’ve had; I would say best for Waco but not outside of Waco. They offer a wide selection in their menu and the prices are quite reasonable as per portions. The only reason I would frequent this place is because they’re the only ones in Waco that have decent fried rice with slices of Chinese-style roasted pork. If you want Chinese food I would recommend this place first and Chop Stix as second. Side note: Happy Wok’s location can be intimidating to those who are less familiar with North Waco territory. But that should not deter you from actually trying out their food!

Great place to order from. It is not in the best area but I haven’t seen any issues. You get a lot of food for the price and the staff is friendly.

When you think of Waco, Chinese food is not something you thinks about. My wife and I tried a number of Chinese places and were not impressed. I’m by no means an expert in Chinese food but I do enjoy it when I can find a good restaurant. My acupuncturist suggested I try Happy Wok. After convincing the wife, we went. I compare all Chinese places on one dish: Sweet & Sour chicken. To my amazement, Happy Wok serves a really S&S chicken. It’s not greasy and the serving is enough to fill a full grown man. My wife has been sampling the menu and while she has not found her dish, she continually agrees that she enjoys her food. Even with a few other Chinese joints and plenty of Asian buffets, Happy Wok is worth the trip to the far side of town.

The tea is amazing! Chinese food in Waco tends to be on the less spectacular side, but Happy Wok is delicious. In the evenings and around lunch time there tends to be a wait. Calling in doesn’t help, the wait is the same. The Orange chicken had real orange peels and the Sesame chicken is better than any other in waco. The egg rolls are good and the rice is just okay, I prefer the noodles. It’s a hidden gem!

I used to eat here because the food was as good as the better NYC Chinese take out restaurants. In the past year, this place has been circling the drain. Food which was once flavorful is now just plain salty. Their once delicious, abundantly stuffed egg rolls are now smaller and barely filled. The formerly fabulous Singapore Mei Fun has become a salty mass of rice noodles with major clumps of dry curry powder(YUK!!!). Of course, the prices have increased to compliment the«improvements». I don’t mind paying more for exceptional food, but I can get mediocre, over priced Chinese food anywhere in this town.

Hesitated to go to eat at the first chinese restaurant since we moved to Waco on the suggestion of a friend. Barely exceeded my expectations for a chinese fast food joint. portions were big, price was ok. they had some items that these chinese fast foot joints typically don’t have such as mapo doufu and curry chicken. Will probably go back when the itch for chinese food cannot withstand a 3 hour drive to houston… might take a while though.
